Sanity Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 I haven't seen any other place meant to introduce myself, so I shall do it here. I found an arcade recently and finally got my chance to learn and play BBCS2. Being familiar with grapplers I picked up Tager. The problems start when the really good players arrive. Basically, I get stuck in a corner against characters like Hazama, Litchi, and Ragna with no real way out. So how does Tager deal with corner pressure? Turtling as the turtle I am results in death because I get eventually get hit by a low or an overhead. So far from what I've read IB 360 is the best way out but I haven't reached a level to IB anything yet. So there are any other ways? Or do I deserve to die for allowing myself to be in the corner anyway.
Isorropia Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Well in BB if you get hit you'll prolly end up in the corner, especially against litchi and ragna. There are a few things you can try, one of which is backdash, tager's backdash has quite a few invulnerable frames so it can make the other character's attack whiff. In the corner you won't really go anywhere either so against people who rush in recklessly you can get a 360 punish and get out of the corner. Otherwise block really patiently and look for an opportunity to 5A or 2A antiair out of their pressure when they try to go in for another round. But ultimately, just be patient. Block low, watch for the overheads. As you play more you'll learn to recognise the startup animations of overheads more easily and if you learn gatling paths you can know which moves they can overhead after.

It's in chicago, that's 7 hours away. My life isn't so simple that I can necessarily up and leave whenever I want. But I will try, and the train is a good idea.

But I will try, and the train is a good idea. You see? Chitown brothers got each other backs. I hope you can make it out there man. I'm playing SC2 and AH3 as well. But you know what? this Tager road trip won't be complete if we don't have Axis or Osuna come with us. It will be our chances in CS2. I always felt Tager can win a BB tourney if multiple Tager player show up.

While he's a good Bang, I went about 6-4 with him using Tager. The Bang matchup feels so much easier now...

The way I see is that characters like Bang who aren't that fast are not that bad for Tager. You could 'possibly" eat them for breakfast.

Old man Tsuuna so rusty! Good stuff beating him. Bang becomes a pain when they figure out how to be lame with him. (No bang in america does this.)

Next batch of questions? That's a good combo to remember on Rachel. Btu what I saw you do was 5A,5B,3C, and than you did 6A.
