Milln Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 @pokemmo: None of you know a thing about KO's Persian, or my Scyther.

Zoizite Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) If my sig wasn't reserved for tournament dates, i'd quote this. I'll do it then! and Vaporeon. I'm gonna try to get the 15th off work. Last time was cool as hell. Edited September 2, 2012 by Zoizite
Klein Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Oh god I love coup droit. NO, DON'T DO IT. YOU CAN RESIST TITSUROG'S EVIL. I BELIEVE IN YOU VOLPE.
Milln Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Man... Should I play Valkyrie Profile, Persona 4 Arena, or KOF when I get home...? anyone want some matches tonight? Haha leaning towards Valkyrie Profile. Lezard is hilarious. "They say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, so I say unto you, 'Nice Try'." hahahaha

AND THEN PLAY IT!!!
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Yeah, I need some matches. Like I said before, it's really hard to find people to fight outside of my regular group.
Milln Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 @persona matches: unfortunately, I'm 360 only until I get my stick fixed. Borrowing one, I am. @Disgaea: Hayl naw. I'll open it when I finish all my other games.
Seiki Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I'm down to play some persona tonight on the xbawx. Man, I'm struggling against yukiko and shadow labrys. I can't find akihiko's strengths in the neutral game in those matchups.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I just struggle with Slab in general. Like you're supposed to be watching Labrys for cross-ups, but if you don't keep an eye on her persona it'll grab you while you're focused on her. It's like 50% of her character is psychological warfare.
LastStarSaviour Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 It's like 50% of her character is psychological warfare. Welcome to the world of Carl.
AlexSanteria Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I'll be on there tonight playing Persona on the 360.
Astaroth136 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) I rage so much in this game. Losing to players in ranked that are obviously worse than me because my character is balls is frustrating. There's this one Liz that has no mixup game or footsies skill whatsoever, and I've lost to him multiple times. And screw Naoto too. Her EX dash-through gunshot is ridiculous. Unpunishable, better than most dps, and leads to Silence super? Sure, why not. /rant Edited September 2, 2012 by Astaroth136
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 What makes Kanji balls? He's got a great dp that makes punishing whiffs a risky endeavor, he's got a dash, air dash, movement options, anti-zoning tools, quasi-unburstable combos with big damage, throw set-ups, traps, and okay normals. What more could a grappler desire?

What more could a grappler desire? People are grossly overestimating his dp. Once you learn to bait and the timing to punish it, it's no big deal. His normals are not okay. 5C and 2C are his longest reaching pokes, but they're slow. 5A is meh. Yes, he has a ground dash that takes ages to start up. His airdashes are okay, nothing to brag about though. Anti-zoning tools? Yeah, they're slow too. Good luck trying to catch Liz or Naoto with it.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) I've been caught by a good Kanji utilizing his anti-zoning tools. With Kanji it becomes a mini mind-game from fullscreen, and I have to decide when and where to unleash my maziodyne. He has to decide when and where to block, jump and try to anti-zone. Yeah, he might screw up and eat a couple of lazers, but eventually he'll get me blocking. Then he can take his dash with start-up and get in my face guaranteed, which is where he'll be at his best. His normals might be slow, but when his anti-zoning FORCES you to block them he'll be able to shine. This forces me into a dangerous guessing game where the wrong read leads into great damage and terrifying oki. It's not that it's overestimated, it's that his dp opens up an entire new mind-game off of -whiffs-. You have to decide whether you have the frames to close the distance with the Kanji and a quick enough normal to punish, depending on where and which move he whiffed. Then you have to decide if you want to bait out a dp and risk getting thrown or anti-aired in the process. Spamming it every time one whiffs does not a good dp make. Kanji's a viable character with a toolset any other grappler should be envious of. He can lock down zoners, punish rolls, dps, jump outs, as well as bait out and punish anti-airs. When you can stuff the (apparently) best 2B in game and it's still not good enough, I don't know what you want. It's up to you to utilize them properly. Edited September 2, 2012 by Volpe-de-Glacio
KhaosMuffins Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I would also like to join this play session on the 360. I prefer dat platinum bar connection to orange bar connections on any day.
AlexSanteria Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Yeah, so when are we doing this play session?
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Presumably after Milln arrives and gives his input on Kanji. Wish I could still fight Xbox peepz.
