Jackie Chandler Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Hey gais, haven't posted here in forever. Just picked up Gear and totally day one at it. Thinking about Robo-Ky, Pot, or May. Any suggestions or any chance of getting with Cookeville people for some pointers? Also there will be a fight night this wednesday night. 11/16, and Wednesdays from here on at the new card shop next to panda garden off of Willow. If anyone is interested it is 3 dollars entry we'd love to see you. If you have a game you like try to bring a setup and if you can't at least a game and we'll see what we can do. I can't really provide much in the way of pointers, but I'd be happy to get in some friendlies whenever we get the chance. :3 Also, in regards to this Wednesday fight night thing... Fuck. Yes. $3 venue is fantastic, it's actually in Cookeville, and it's on a day I don't (normally) babysit. Count on me making it there every week I can. Which will most definitely be often. :D As for a setup, I can bring my 360 (or PS3, if deemed necessary), my recording equipment, and my laptop (for either recording or PC-only games like Akatsuki or Melty)- but I don't have a small enough TV to bring with me. Will they have TVs there for us? And what time will fight night usually start?

We will have to work out aimed kinks but it should be all good

I don't think I can give you any pointers that'd be particularly useful as I'm just getting used to the character myself, but I think the opportunity to trade tech would be mutually beneficial. I play some Chandler, but, slippery snake that he is, I usually can only get a precious few matches with him on Saturdays. :C [hint hint Chandler]

I won't pretend to be an expert but I am familiar enough with the mechanics that I can tell you enough to get you started. Though Robo shit you'll have to get from Sid. I'm a Sol :3

Had a lot of fun getting wrecked by Josh in Marvel, almost Red Parrying an entire Akuma super against Andrew in Third Strike, trying to explain a bit of Noel to John, flailing playing stick against a 360 controller-wielding Bane in Third Strike, and hanging out/watching/chatting with everyone else. I'll try to get in some games with different people next time. Hopefully we'll have a couple more setups from now on. :P

I won't be working wednesdays any more so that should make it easier. Still deciding on Robo or Zappa. Basically it's easier versus quirkier and maybe more fun.

Just kidding, Japan can't even play her Until you have down the FRC stuff, here's a really easy Dive Loop from 6P you can do as an alternative: This one is character specific, but it's a great combo and it still ends in knockdown. You'll have to tinker around with it to find versions for other characters.

Was it one of the ones with the interchangable D-Pads? With how weird and twisty it is, I wouldn't put it past it. :P
Astaroth136 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Yeah, it was the twisty one. I heard a spring-like sound, blinked, and noticed the dpad part laying behind me on the floor. I was using it at the time for Call of Duty, and the fact that it sprung itself behind me was amazing.
