LastStarSaviour Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) This all sounds like problems that derive from bang players not being able to control Furin movement well, which if this was the case would make sense. With that said, I can't really see any of the above mentioned, except for Tao because well, she's Tao. I could perhaps see Rachel as one as well. Tager: I honestly would've bought your argument had you talked about his normals, but spark bolt? Bang has to worry about Spark Bolt in Furin? Just wow... Haku-Men: Did you just say, space with 4C, you're joking right? More times than not Haku-Men will not catch you, unless you're auto-piloting, with one of his C normals. They're much too slow and most outside of 5C don't even have a good enough hit-box, especially 4C. Hazama: The risk/reward for Hazama trying to lock you down in Furin with chains is awfully high. I mean, once his chains are half-way through the animation, he can't call them back, making a free whiff punish if you are able to predict when he'll throw them. Now getting in on him from the air is something I may have bought honestly, seeing as his anti-airs are just silly. Lambda: She suffers the same problem against Furin Bang, except her swords are almost twice as easy to bait. It's already bad enough she can't establish a good zoning ability against normal Bang but now she has to gamble with someone twice as fast and with more ability to get around? Mhm, that's really dangerous territory alright. Not only that, she has no solid reversals, and her normals when compared to Bang's are mediocre Platinum: The worst you might get out of her is getting out-poked, 6A too godlike. Other than that, I don't see a problem. Carl: How so? Edited August 7, 2012 by LastStarSaviour
Papstr Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Uh, I'm not Naimat, and my memories of it are kinda vague, but doesn't spark bolt launch from Tager's chest/upper body? So it would catch an airborne Bang, unless he went really high up, in which case he'd have to use his 3 jumps right? So he'd still be vulnerable on the way down?
Seiki Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I'm done arguing Star. Your arguments clearly reflect a lack of understanding of Bang. Until you play Bang with FRKZ in actual matches with some experience tacked on you are speaking out of your ass. Like seriously I don't want to even respond to your ridiculous theory fighter stuff because it's clearly arguments formed from just reading shit on Bang and just looking at things on paper.
LastStarSaviour Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Alright man, if you really think it's theory fighter. Edit: I was just going to leave it at that, but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing so. So instead, i'm going to simply say this, I haven't tested Furin Bang on all characters, at most i've tried him out against Noel and Mu-12. But at the same time, i've used Haku-Men and i've used Lambda against a very strong Bang player, who was able to control Furin Bang very well. He managed to give me a lot of insight on Furin and honestly, that's how I came up with the conclusion that the problems you listed aren't as relevant as you peg them out to be. But go ahead, dismiss what I say as theory fighter, it's always so much easier to end a discussion that way. Edited August 7, 2012 by LastStarSaviour

Maybe I'm dumb, but isn't coming up with a conclusion about something without directly testing it...basically theory fighter?
Jackie Chandler Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Let me go ahead and abbreviate 99% of this thread's discussions. When you make too many mistakes in fighting games, you lose. Sometimes it's easier to make mistakes against certain characters. Are we all in agreement? Excellent. - Gold bursts have been removed Jackie on suicide watch. Fucking LOL. Nah, I'll get over that. The real reason I'm on suicide watch is because Astrals are disabled in the loketests.
Papstr Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 TAR AND FEATHER THE HEATHEN! HE HATES ARGUMENTS! But seriously. Smart debate is healthy and fun.
Milln Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Fucking LOL. Nah, I'll get over that. The real reason I'm on suicide watch is because Astrals are disabled in the loketests. Effing called it.
Seiki Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Sigh, Star I play Bang I have applied theory to practice...you are playing theory fighter because you haven't applied what you say to an actual match. What someone else tells you and you interpreting what they said is still theory until you apply it yourself. I don't expect you to understand my argument because I'm talking from the perspective of a Bang player. Maybe if you played Bang you would get where I come from or atleast this discussion would be more constructive until then it's futile because you are looking at everything on paper and I'm coming from a combination of both experience and paper. You play Lambda and Hakumen...but i doubt it's at the level of being tournament viable...and I doubt your Bang...is either...I've experienced using FRKZ against the entire cast and my experience is against players who main their characters not on the side and not in training mode. I'm tired of arguing it gets boring and I feel like I'm just trying to explain the same point in different ways each time I post it's redundant and pointless.
Milln Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 There's another way to end this argument. LUMIN, MAH BOI. I'm buying you a pizza. Come on over here.
Jackie Chandler Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 There's another way to end this argument. I thought I had this thread won. I was wrong.
Tophatmoffet Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 But seriously. Smart debate is healthy and fun. I have neither partaken in nor witnessed a "smart debate" in my entire life. Debate is neither healthy nor fun.
Milln Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Hi, sirs. Money Match in the game they prolly got the idea for SFxT's gems from?
Alphakami Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Am I even a member of the 'FGC' anymore? I don't get hype, I don't get salty, I barely care to discuss and game's mechanics when it's about the version we are currently playing. I think the discussion of tier lists are asinine. Trolling... I like trolling, hard, and mashing buttons, and just not finishing combos. Milln, don't get old and bitter, you'll end up like me, minus the alcohol abuse. Hotel party in Cookeville Saturday night?

Alphakami Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Srsly, ignore all that shit. I'm just having one of those weeks where I think about quitting my job and changing most everything about my life. Fact is I like games, I like you guys, and I'll be doing this probably forever. I'm serious about hitting up a hotel in Cookeville Saturday night, if the local crew is down for games. I also derailed the thread, which means I'm doin' it rite.
