I'm seeing something about 6C -> Bowling Ball -> 6C in the JP Tao forums. I wonder what situation you have to be in for that to work...

It doesn't make much sense to me, bowling ball has way too much recovery.. doesn't it?

Xdest, i seen one of the pink taos use that, i suppose it just gives good oki midscreen, but he never done 6c after bowling ball, command jump, jc

I've actually seen satsuno and tsuji do something like bowling ball oki,barrier dash cancel to close the gap a little and if the opponent...

IAD forward-6a

IAD backwards-barrier dash cancel again or 6C if close to the corner.

Neutral jump-Air throw,ja for lockdown and sometimes they use the pushback of a blocked 6c to push them closer to the corner.

Block-start pressure or let the bowling ball take a primer and return to neutral.

These options are all assuming he opponent neutral techs, if they try to foward tech apparently he bowling ball punishes it and if they tech back they either get hit by 6C or just push themselves into the corner in which case you use the above options to keep them from escaping.

Hey XDest and Cake, did you guys go to Canada Cup?

1)i don't play tao anymore so i don't read this board anymore

2)no, it is a shitty tournament and i'd rather use my money to go to northwest majors this weekend

Meanwhile, I'm in Toronto. Canada Cup is in Alberta.

You're damn right I didn't go. I don't even have the money to make Northeast majors.

Xdest are you in the part of Canada that will get bbcsex early? It would be nice to get some solid info for the Tao boards.

ive been wondering if jc - 5b - 3c - 236a -etc still works or not, i have never seen a tao use this no more,

also i been wonderin if when ur to far in the corner to connect 22c after 3c if u can do 236c (1 hit) before to move you in slightly then do 22c,

jc - 5b - 3c - 236a -etc

Nope, 3C's got some changed properties on the last hit, opp will hit the floor faster and can tech right away making 236A whiff, and even if they don't tech it becomes an uncomboable blue beat otg

edit:

tried 3C > Cat3 in the corner too, techs way too fast

So I haven't played BB since CT, I watched some of the Godsgarden stuff and tao looks great but way different. Shadow super, bowling ball, and 22C actually have uses now apparently... I want to jump on CS:EX this month but Im gonna be way behind. Can anyone give me some advice about what's different with Tao these days.

Calling all active taos! NeoGio has been a great representative for the Tao boards. He has provided guides in the versus thread and has been a very humble person. I propose all those who would like to see him represent Tao for Plebian's Playground (BBCS:EX Exhibition Matches), go vote. I personal believe he deserves some gratitude for executing his effort in a very unpopular Character for The US.

I was always under the impression that outside of Japan, there was a maximum of two Tao players per country and I'm okay with this.

Tao looking fun to play again (CS2 Tao was boring), it reminds a lot of CT Tao plus all the good buffs she's received throughout CS1/CS2.

Back on board, I guess?

Currently borrowing my friend's imported copy. Like some Canadians, I'm still not able to get my own North American release =/... Hoping to find somewhere that sells it this weekend.

Tao is really fun, and I've been using her since CT. The drive moves seem tighter than what it was in CS, but I could be wrong... I've been playing quite a bit online and so maybe I'm just pressing things far too early than the game allows me to. I wonder how all of these combos will be done online @_@;;;

CS2 Tao wasn't boring, in my opinion, and made her somewhat usable online against very distant players. Note the reference to 'distant' players.

;_;

I'm liking dat bowling ball oki near the corner though. Combos really nicely into 6C if they mash out.
