While probably an exhausted topic, search provided such a huge list of irrelevant posts that I gave up sifting through it all and decided to post about it (also: please consider a sticky about this so that newcomers can easily refer to it).

Simply put: What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting Blazblue CS on Xbox 360 versus the PS3?

And for further input, which console do you play it on?

In my opinion, either version works. This is now just a debate between PSN or XBL.

Right now, I'm on PSN because of Aksys' other game: Arcana Heart 3, which is not available on my region's Xbox 360.

For Xbox 360, if you're a casual gamer, you might find the Xbox360 pad to be a bit... sub-optimal. It takes some getting used to, but it's ok. I've played CT on my Xbox 360 and using the pad was fine.

IMO, I really prefer Xbox360 since I have my Ultima Weapon there, a Madcatz Tournament Edition Fightstick. In my place, the Madcatz TE for the 360 is far more common (I've Never seen a PS3 one on my country's stores).

On PSN however, all I have is a $37 brandless stick which makes 214 and 236 motions have a 30-50% failure rate(!!). So yeah...

I think I got sidetracked there.

TL,DR:

PS3:

+Free online play

+Pad is ok

XBox360:

++Madcatz TE is more common

-Pad ain't that good

-Pay to play online

Either version works fine. Just play Blazblue!! Good luck!!

I play on PS3, by the way, because I can't afford two consoles.

srsly, I got 3 ps3 Te's. Not extremely hard to come by

PS3 version has slight input lag, Xbox version runs faster than arcade. When I switch from one console to the other I think I may drop combos slightly more for the first few rounds.

PSN may be inferior to XBL for netplay in some situations, but I think PSN has more players (not necessarily more skilled though). Some people say XBL is better, some say it's the same... Either way, do yourself and your opponents a favor and play with a wired connection if ever you want to netplay.

Both console's D-Pads and Analog sticks are viable once you get used to them, unless I'm mistaken, I know people who use all of these to play this game and can do anything they want. Dual-modding an Xbox TE stick is simpler than dual modding a PS3 TE though. (dual mod allows the stick to play on both PS3 and Xbox)

I own both and play on both, although I don't really netplay often. They're both pretty even, but I'd lean slightly towards PS3, because when you're plugged into a CRT with the Xbox version, you can't change the screen resolution to see the exclamation marks for a throw when you're in the corner, but that's barely an issue... until people start abusing purple throws in the corner? :psyduck:

Also, it's easier to synch multiple controllers for PS3, but if you have friends who play, the most important thing is to have the same system as them. Both allow you to enjoy the game and get better at it.

I found the 360 controller to be superior all round to the PS3...

Anyway, buy the one that most of your friends have / Cheapest / flip a coin. Almost no difference between them pour moi.

Can't use Ebay. No Credit Card. :gonk:

I'm gonna apply for one though, since I'll need to get a Dual-mod PCB. I'm thinking of either the Toodles ChImp SMD, or the Akishop PS360+. Don't know if one would be better than the other though.

Anyway, I also heard that PSN has more players as well. I think it's based on this one:

http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11869-PSN-XBL-Ranked-Character-Usage-quot-Popularity-quot

PSN (111,743) vs XBL (47,613).

So PSN has almost double the amount of players? Still, with tens of thousands of players, you'll still find someone to fight somewhere all the time, so why count?

If XBL is faster, then that's a definite advantage. On PSN, the maximum I EVER get is a one-bar connection (Philippines... our internet is so bad, it's not even funny). I drop combos every once in a while since I'm not used to the slight delay, but it's not that bad as I can still use spacing and react well to my opponent's tactics.

Overall though, the netcode is still so awesome that it's no problem. The connection is ok (considering I fight EU and US players a lot), though it could be better.

Take whichever console you want, since they're both alright.

I know. That's why after using it to buy the PCB, I'm gonna seal it in The Boundary. :P

This is...ridiculously shortsighted. <Derail GO!>

Credit cards can be a way for you to borrow money for free, build up your credit rating, and get people to pay you to do it. They're practically a free lunch if you can do ONE thing: Hold yourself to some sort of level of fiscal responsibility. That is to say "don't spend more than you can afford, and pay off your balance, in full, each month."

As long as you can manage your spending - if you can be an adult who doesn't need someone smacking their hand to say "No, you can't have that, it costs more than you have." - then a credit card is nothing but a boon. You build up your credit rating, so if you ever need to take out a "real" loan (such as a house or a car), it becomes much easier. You get to put off paying for anything until the end of the month, so you accrue interest on that money. You get whatever benefit the credit card gives you - you should at least be able to get 1% cash back. If your credit card is ever stolen, you're liable for only a very nominal amount of money on any purchases the thief makes, whereas if your debit card is stolen, they can clean out whatever account is associated with it. And you get the 'insurance' effect that if you ever ARE in a serious sort of predicament (Car wreck, medical emergency, etc.) then you CAN, if desperately necessary, overspend on your credit card to cover those expenses immediately, and get your insurance to pay it off later.

Credit cards: Don't fall prey to the negative press. If you have a negative experience with credit cards, it's basically your fault - the penalties are stupid if you miss or are late with a payment, but most of them can be set up to automatically debit from your bank account at the end of the month anyway. There really isn't any excuse for not reaping the benefits unless you know you're irresponsible. And that just means the problem is with you, not the card.

I have a few questions regarding this topic, I own BlazBlue CT on 360 was able to play people on the PC as well as 360 owners, is there anything like that on CS? I won a free PS3 CS game in a Tekken tourney and I am only able to fight PS3 users was just wondering if the 360 version of CS has PC players on it like how it was on BB CT? This is a pretty old topic but would like to hear a response.

There is no retail version of CS on the PC. The only BB to get the PC treatment thus far is CT.

I just bought Extend on 360. Online is significantly better (less laggy) on Xbox. I have a fast internet connection (32mb) , so I know it's network design rather than my internet.

That being said, for BB specifically, there are more players on PS3. Xbox is more of a US/North America system, where Aksys games aren't all that popular.

@Ivotte, from what I've read, the Vita version of extend is a exact port of the PS3 version.

For what it's worth, according to the sales of on VGChartz, BBCS sold more copies in the USA on the 360.

I'm in the USA and own it on 360 and almost every host is Japanese! WTF?!

You're in Denver, you're more likely to have better connections to jpn rooms than to east coast rooms.

Also jpn rooms are open pretty much in the afternoon due to the time differences so it depends on when you play too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't XBL region-locked and PSN not region-locked? I know a number of PSN players on Dustloop imported the JP version just for that reason (that and cause they wanted to dodge the wait for localization).

PS3 is non-region locked for games but really the main reason was to get ahead before people had a copy like you said. People get the xbox version for better netplay or when they have no ps3.

So then those would be reflected in the Japanese sales? I'm sure some people did that, but are we talking hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of people?

Ah. I misunderstood then.

*shrug* I don't know the magnitude of people who import games, much less BB specifically. I'd imagine it'd be somewhere in the hundreds, but that's more of a guess than it is an educated estimate.

I know 360 games as a whole tend to sell better than their PS3 counterparts in the U.S., I'm just a little surprised if that applies to this game too, since it seems to have a greater PSN playerbase.

I have it on PS3, and most of my friends who have Xbox and PS3, usually have their fighting games on the PS3. Also, imports are probably in the thousands. In downtown NYC alone, there is a store dedicated to imports where my friend picked up the new Naruto Generations and Gundam game..and they had sold out on imports of BBCSEx before it was released in the US.
