Hey guys, anyone got advice for getting this to work?

5A > 5B > 5C > DP B > (Delayed) 6C > (Delayed) 214A > 44 2C > 6C > 6D > IAD j.2C > j.C > 66 5B > 5C > 3C > 214A (2813/52)

No mater what I do I can't get that 2C link to work. Either it doesn't come out, or it's way too slow to redbeat.

Practice it rigorously, that's all I can say. I still drop it from time to time but sooner or later I have to get it right 90% of the time.

Well that or use the alternate combo that I just added. Ease of use in mind because I know I'll have to resort to it when playing in a bit of lag lol

Yeah I was trying variations of a 5C link instead, because I suck at 44 2C with that small of a time window.

Also, you know that 5B isn't necessary after the 5A, right?

I know but you'd either need godlike reactions to hit-confirm 5A > 5C or know that your 5A will land no matter what. You could auto-pilot it but you'll make your pressure weaker if it gets blocked. For a measly hundred more damage, I'd rather not take that risk lol.

That's a lot of work for a couple points of damage. I get it though, I'll work on 5A/2A > 5C combos tomorrow. Right now I just wanna get the thread finished, again. Currently stuck on 2C FC because there are so many variations to it depending on your distance to the corner.

2C FC Burst Bait (confirm into j.2C and hold back, you'll automatically block the Burst)

2C FC > 6B

2C FC > 6C

2C FC AA

2C regular hit

From way over mid-screen

Right on mid-screen

Close to the corner

Closer

Even Closer

In the Corner

yeah, the more i see this the more i think we need to modify the wiki to show a few standard combos depending on the situation, and point to this thread for a more comprehensive list so it's less work for ppl haha.

That might not be a bad idea. We should should probably pick out standard "BnBs" for those wanting to learn the basics of the character. Then, point them to the thread for advanced combos that require knowledge of how the character's mechanics really work.

On a side note, I really want to write a "New FG Player's Guide to BlazBlue" some day. Xiei's videos are awesome, but I feel like we need something in written form that goes through and explains the basics, frame data, frame traps, etc.

I had to make up some crap to help me memorize some of these

2A and 5A combos are all the same.

j.B CH > 66 5C, j.2C > 66 5C, 6B > 66 5B, 2C FC > j.2C > j.C > 66 5C, 2C FC > 6B > 66 5C, and 5B combos are pretty much all the same.

The rest are all hella different from each other.

FYI, I get better damage with 5A > 5B > 5C > DP B > 6C > DC > j.C > j.214A > 44 5C > 2C > j.D > 66 5B > [1)5C > 3C > 214C] or [2) 2B > 5C > 3C > 214A]

Let me get the specific damage and Heat gain. If it's higher than what I have then I'll replace it with this one.

The heat gain for the 214A version is the same, but I haven't checked the heat for the 214C ender version.

2790/51 and 2697/45.

Yup, higher damage and slightly more heat. Consider your combo added to the thread as soon as I rework every other combo.

2C FC is an absolute pain in the ass to optimize, lol. I find myself resorting to sub-optimal combos cause I can't remember which one I should be using. Knowing that the absolute best I can get out of it is ~4.3k doesn't make me want to exert the extra effort to nail down the positions.

And don't get me started on AA 2C. I hate dash > sjc j.C > j.214A crap :arg:

I hear that, 2C really hindered me and I spent most of my time working on combos for it. So I tried my best and got as far as j.C combos. Tomorrow the thread will be completely finished for sure. That and I'll add some easy mode combos, alternatives for the DC > 214A > 44 2C links. The little party guy, :toot:, will let you know when an alternative/easy combo shows up lol.

if it's not for AA and if I am not trolling I don't even bother using 2C for like DP punish or what not.

I'll just use 6C instead.

I completely reworked the combo thread. I just need to add more simple combos. Jyo, I know you're having trouble with the DC > 214A > 44 2C link. Try doing those combos that say (Delayed) 214A > 44 2C; even you should be able to pull them off and it will serve as practice for the actual DC > 214A > 44 2C links.

Yeah I'll give it a try. I spent like 8 hours in Training Mode yesterday. Learned a whole ton of new shit.

for those kinds of dashes, take advantage of hte advanced input for dashes.

just input hte dash a few frames before you recover, then input hte attack.

probably will still take some practice, but it definitely makes this kind of stuff easier

I posted this elsewhere, but you can squeeze out ~90 more damage for this combo as follows (shown for ender 1):

*Damage and heat assume 5C is omitted, if 5C can be added without dropping, add about 40 damage and 3 heat

I'm a little hazy on whether the 5C can be tacked on to the ender for this combo, hence my italicized comment.
