Shinobi! Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 Story wise, no. There is no story mode in AC.
Vyze Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 So, there's a player in my area who's getting good with Axl and it's getting quite tough to fight against him. What's the best way to use Ky when fighting Axl, other running away and spamming Stun Edges?
低姿勢 Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Random note... GGX ky cannot FDC air fireballs like he use to be able to. At least if he can, I cant do it, or dont remember how to do it or something. Obivous perhaps but raichuu not only takes away the OTG property of characters, but it, it self acctauly does not count as a true OTG. Seems it may be possible to get triple raichuu combos vs aba. Although it does seem characters do become invincable to it at certain points, not just the obvious to say. Vs some characters he has semi infinte light saber loop useing some wackey set ups. Dunno how high you can go up to, but after just 3 loops it does 1 damage... So lol. also not only is there that random some moves count as OTG burst punishable some not, apperently some cuz diff effects when they hit certain parts of the otg, also some moves become untechable depending on where they hit, and count as 2 hits.
Doomscyther Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Im no ky master but i played ky as one of my characters since playstation one release. for Axl 1. 6HS is really nice cause it will hit on his chains when they extend. 2. use the 214k move anytime u know one of his combos wont connect (Like as if Axl starts with 6HS, he cant out hit the 214k unless he RC it), also applies to alot of his other combos. 3.FRC your projectile (I havent had to do ti but it would help to FRC and dash ) 4. Tick, Tick, and more Tick throw FRC or RC. 5. Out poke with 6S, Vapor Thrusts. 6. If he Downblocks alot (which my brother loves to do to bait me into loop), do a J.hs or J.s then 4D to air combo. Random shyt just passing through, Hope this helps you out Vyze.

So lol.[/quote'] Seems like a good way to be cruel when you're ahead on life and there's not very long left on the timer! Thanks for that, I'll remember it as best I can! My problem is normally getting close enough to be able to hit with stuff like Greed Sever, but I keep on forgetting that hitting the chains will hit him too, so huzzah for 6HS!
Mr. Mamation Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 about the "6H infinite" it only takes 4 shakes to get out of it. ...now delete that damn thread
PozerWolf Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 These Ky forums sucks, and I already pointed out to silent shinobi what needed to be fixed.
PozerWolf Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 In other news, water is wet, fire is hot, etc. Bullshit! I got the frame date on fire. Supposly Ice is immune to Water? How does that work? Can someone post some Ice combos so I can defeat lava?!?!gar!
Shinobi! Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 These Ky forums sucks, and I already pointed out to silent shinobi what needed to be fixed. Yes you did sir. My apologies for the lateness but its ok to slap me upside the head and tell me again. I've deleted some stuff and made a checklist for what it is I need to do. Dont worry sir...throw a bucket of water on that flame over there and start rebuilding.
Vyze Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 They don't suck that bad, do they? There's a move list, some handy combos, and a videos thread. What more do you really need?
Shinobi! Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 He speaks of the clutter here. In other words, there should be easier ways to find information here than just trying to look for it or make a question about it. I plan on getting something done tonight.
H-F Blade Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 This place was a bit cluttered but it's much better off than some of the other character subforums.
PozerWolf Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 This place was a bit cluttered but it's much better off than some of the other character subforums. I don't see what that has to do with anything seeing as how we are not trying to be like the other character subforums. Everytime I see a stupid question on this topic, I want to point the poster to the right direction. However, there is no real discussion on this topic related to what the people are normally asking. For example, people asked for AC combos yet there has been nothing on GGAC combos on this thread, so I made the topic. Separate the Slash info from the AC info. Have a list of Slash to AC changes in a different topic, while re-edit JetEnduro Ky info combo to something more Slash related. Let that be for the Slash info. I don't know why a Video Topic is sticked in the first place, but whatever. It's nice to have around to keep bump, but I don't see the point in having it sticky. The current Ky Slash Matchup Thread is garbage. I'd like to see people post up on there match-up experience, rather than a bunch of fanboys post up match-ups from watching nothing but videos all day. If you don't have any real experience, then don't post any match-up tips at all.

It's nice to have around to keep bump, but I don't see the point in having it sticky. I dunno, when I started watching match videos, I went pretty quickly from total-sucky-scrub to not-quite-as-sucky-but-still-scrubbing, so they're very helpful to be able to find quickly.

Videos dont help as well as people think they do. Go out and play with some friends, even tho those friends might suck real bad. The more experience, the better (of course).
kaworu Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 6HS after CSE is pretty common knowledge but against a good player you will probably never actually hit a CSE, dust sometimes catches people off guard but some characters can punish your blocked dust quite well. Some other options as long as the spacing is right after blocked: corner: B&B string into 2d CSE run in 6HS: TK FB cross, and then air dash mix up after the cross J.D Jump in mix up: wiff J.HS after start up animation or Hit J.HS both into 2k, 2D, CSE TK ACSE S©, 6P, 6HS, 2D_S©, S(f) SE or whatever for guts bar building. 2D may catch them off guard. S©, 6P, 6HS, S© SD FRC walk in grab (hopefully due to pressure strings their guts bar will be flashing for a CH FRC throw combo).
722 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 6H after CSE is a good enough idea I guess if you don't want your blockstrings to be repetitive, but as a combo on hit it has some problems. Compare the damage and tension spent for this combo: Example 2: CSE (hits) 6H, Greed Sever, Sacred Edge 50% tension, 142 damage on Sol To this: CSE (hits), dash 5S, 2D, 236D~214D, 5S, 2H, j.S djc j.S j.H VT, LJ 25% tension, 189 damage on Sol The reason the first combo does so little damage is because all of the starter hits eat away at the guard gauge by quite a bit on hit.
低姿勢 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 ah dont forget in this game double hit bug takes priorty with fireballs now, and since regular big fireball does way less stun. Well... yea you go figure the rest.
Vyze Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Videos dont help as well as people think they do. Go out and play with some friends, even tho those friends might suck real bad. The more experience, the better (of course). Oh, of course actual experience is better than anything else, but it's quite hard to visualise how a combo should work when it's a bunch of numbers and letters on a screen, whereas seeing someone actually do it makes it all click. It may not be the best way of learning things, but it certainly helps whenever I badly need to pass the time at work.
Chojin Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 It seems like: combo into 2D, orb, 66, 5H, orb, aircombo ...does much more damage than a combo into sacred edge ever could. I don't have any numbers to back that up, but that is my experience. In other news, I'm sort of bummed that I can't do my favorite throw-bait anymore, which was: 2P/2K, recover, 5S CH, 6H, combo If your tick move put you slightly out of throw range and they attempted to throw, you got a decent ground combo into knockdown. Otherwise, it set you up nicely to continue pressure. Not that I've been trying, but I haven't seen anything similar in AC except maybe: 2P/2K, recover, 5K, combo Anybody have any ideas?
722 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 This is a little more dangerous than something as fast as 5K, but I've been doing: 2P/2K, recover, 6P 5S On CH, you can get stuff like: 6P 5S 2H, j.S j.H, VT, LJ, land, 2P 5S 2H, VT, LJ Seems like 6P 6H is really common as well judging by match vids.
Shinobi! Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Anyone here who starts drama shall have their post deleted. It may not have been drama to some but I want to start to rebuild this place so that no one can have to deal with nonsense. Please post accordingly. Thank you.
PozerWolf Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Oh, of course actual experience is better than anything else, but it's quite hard to visualise how a combo should work when it's a bunch of numbers and letters on a screen, whereas seeing someone actually do it makes it all click. Not talking about combos, just experience in general is good. It helps you unitized what kind of combos you should use in certain situations. Were as trying to learn them off videos (even thru these message boards), you may force yourself to learn combos that are very situational or only work on certain characters that may 'cause you a big downfall in matches.
Chojin Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 This is a little more dangerous than something as fast as 5K, but I've been doing: 2P/2K, recover, 6P 5S On CH, you can get stuff like: 6P 5S 2H, j.S j.H, VT, LJ, land, 2P 5S 2H, VT, LJ Seems like 6P 6H is really common as well judging by match vids. 6P seems too dangerous. A lot of people will try to counter a tick throw by using a low poke which would beat out 6P since it's too slow and has no lower-body invincibility. I think the best (safest) option might be to do: 2K/2P, recover, 5K, 6P, ... 5H, dipper (on hit) 6H, etc (on guard) It just isn't as brain-dead and damaging as his slash options.
