lilseph Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Every motion ending in 6, be it normal or special, can be done as 66 for sliding effect (unless your'e Carl or Hakumen I think because their dash is a jump), like both of Lambda's supers, Hazama's Jayoku etc. BTW Overheat, only Japanese players can do 2366D, CS1's TK loop and all sorts of advanced combos? rofl? You really think Lambda is anywhere near hard execution-wise? She kind of is in some cases.
tuka Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Nope, but show me a player anywhere else who has consistently gotten those things down in tournament matches. It's pretty much always dropped. It can come close, but it's never finished. I would gladly show you some of my matches when I'll have the equipment.
Overheat Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Sounds good. That means you have better execution than every Lambda except perhaps a few Japanese Lambda's.
toanenadiz Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Now I almost want to stop being lazy and go into training mode to see how hard that 236C->236D link it. I've only tried it 5 times and landed it twice somehow.
severin Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 someday, I'll have impressive matches recorded, instead of me flailing around and dropping combos :\
hakimiru Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 someday, I'll have impressive matches recorded, instead of me flailing around and dropping combos :\ Did your matches from West Toast ever get uploaded? There were a few that I've been wanting to use for studying tachimawari for a while >w>
Ryuujinx Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Ok. If any of you decide to get a capture card, for the love of god don't get an intensity shuttle USB. Get the pro version or something. After much fucking with it, I got it working. Video quality is really good, audio works well enough. Records at some retarded 300GB/Hour. Anyway. It works. And I'm going to bed. :|
HexaNoid Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 It works. And I'm going to bed. :| Ahaha. Thanks for your work, Ryuu. :3 I'll have my copy of Extend by the 23rd the latest or tomorrow if I'm lucky, so I'll be making a thread to compile all the information we want to go in our guide video in a moment. And everyone is free to contribute ideas on what to include, how it should be presented etc. so please speak up if you have any thoughts.
tuka Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 One of you needs to sit on his ass and make a serious combo thread, I'll help with whatever I can. Some of the stuff you guys list here are pathetic lol.

Some of the stuff you guys list here are pathetic lol. I nominate you! You should add to the already existing one and put in combos really worth using. I'd do it but I'm too ignorant for this task
Ryuujinx Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I just bought my Xbox copy of EX yesterday, I'll probably record some matches with my friend tonight for a test run with it.
BeaverDeity Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hmm when I get my copy of Extend I'll be more than happy to help out with the guide what with combos and tactics, etc. In CS2 training mode I tried out all sorts of silly stuff today lol
lolokoa Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Ahaha. Ryuujinx Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Oh man, I can even stream! Check out my lambda :D http://www.twitch.tv/ryuujinx
tuka Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I nominate you! You should add to the already existing one and put in combos really worth using. I'd do it but I'm too ignorant for this task I don't have time for this, and besides, I already made one lol. Why won't the mods do it?
toanenadiz Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I don't have time for this, and besides, I already made one lol. Why won't the mods do it? I don't do optimal combos, so any combo thread by me wouldn't be any better than the current one
toanenadiz Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Sad times indeed. Is your only issue with the current combo thread the fact that it doesn't list max damage combos?
tuka Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Is your only issue with the current combo thread the fact that it doesn't list max damage combos? That, and the fact that it's only half done. Emjay's stuff are really good (although too much mid combo 2C > 5C > 4B which is impractical) but you still need more material for the thread, written and recorded. It should also include okizeme, mixups, tech-traps and some analysis on the most widely used combos (when is X better than Y, what's burst-safe etc.)
HexaNoid Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 That, and the fact that it's only half done. In case you didn't know, I don't actually have the game yet, but when I do I'll try my best to make the combo thread a lot more useful.

It should also include okizeme, mixups, tech-traps and some analysis on the most widely used combos (when is X better than Y, what's burst-safe etc.) Fucking finally! I suggested the idea of okizeme, mixups options, pressure ideas and tech-traps a year ago for CS2, and Xie and some others laughed at me for the suggestion The Lambda forums are too fucking lax, the other character forums have so much shit, and we have barebones stuff here with video threads of Lambda's getting crushed (totally uninspiring!) Emjays list has been pretty good, but those 2C>5C>4B are really risky to do in terms of spacing, online etc. I'm at work right now, and I was about to go online and check out Lambda's and write down some ideas that they use for pressure, mixups and whatnot
Emjay Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 those 2C>5C>4B are really risky to do in terms of spacing, online etc. Online is no factor that should be used to determine the usefulness of combos. Once you hit your 236C you should know/feel if your spacing is about right for the 2C to connect. If it isn't or your having trouble with [2C, 5C, 4B, 2DD, air ender], then you can always just go for [5C, 2C, air ender].

It's more that I don't really see top players going for it.

While I can appreciate the Lambda forums aren't quite up to scratch yet, I'd prefer it if we could all offer some constructive criticism to help improve it instead of just pointing fingers. You say this place is barebones compared to the rest of the characters? Then please, tell us what kind of things you're seeing elsewhere so we can implement it here. I've said this a few times before, but I still don't have Extend yet but I intend to compile a list of combos (plus some of the things that tuka suggested) in our current combo thread when I do have the game. As far as all the other things you'd like to see here go, there's nothing stopping you guys taking the initiative. Either ask others for help creating resources you'd find useful or make something yourself. We've all gotta work together if we want to improve this place.
