character gets nerfed, becomes S-tier

okay.

though, I do agree with xie in that she does indeed go even or better with the majority of the other s-ranked characters, losing of course to tao

Arakune-itis.

I'm surprised she wasn't classified as S tier earlier, to be honest. Great mixup, great neutral space control, great okizeme off of pretty much any confirm, huge damage in the corner off of her great mixup and okizeme.

The only really glaring fault is that she doesn't have a meterless reversal, which makes her have to rely on barrier mechanics, counter assaults and instant blocks to get out of pressure properly. But her meter gain is pretty good so you're usually walking around with 50 heat or so to spare, anyway.

Also her good matchups with some of the other S tier characters really help.

Basically, if they fixed her defense, she'd be god tier.

I've been finding out lately, that 5A is amazingly good for getting out of corner pressure. You know, when you expect an overhead or something, it comes out really fast, so I've been testing it out.

Really the most glaring of her offense is that she relies on gravity so much. At the moment I've been saving it for the corner for some easy 5k-6k combos, but perhaps I should use it more frequently than that. If they made it if gravity field had a cooldown if used at long range, but if used in a combo it finishes the cooldown, that'd be nice.

That aside, I've gotten down on reacting to hit confirms off 5a, 2a, and random drives, now I need to react to crouching into 4B. Once I have that in my arsenal I will truly feel S-tier.

Mu still better because she has pauldrons and shit that get 9k in the corner

Always nice to have a useless accessory. Kinda like Lambda's ponytail blade.

So. Almost every character's 2A is low, but lambchops's STILL isn't ;~;.

Off the top of my head, only Arakune, Carl, Bang, Tao and Plat have a 2A that's a low to my knowledge.

So yeah, I'd say 5/19 doesn't really qualify for "almost every character". :kitty:

Jin does IIRC

Rachel

Carl

Tao

Arakune

Hazama

Platinum

I feel like I'm forgetting 2 or 3 though. So about 50% then?

and then a lot of the ones that don't, you rarely play against anyways.

Jin, Rachel and Hazama definitely don't have a low hitting 2A.

And even if you don't face the others very much, that doesn't change the properties of a character's move...

6/19. You forgot Madam Rachel.

Nah, Rachel's isn't a low. Maybe you're mistaking her 2A for her 2B?

@Thino 214D, a lot of the time you can force her to jump and toss out a 2D or 6D. Don't rely on it a lot though. Most cases, j.D/j.2D is the safest drive to use against her.

This. Obviously it depends on the habits of your opponents, but this works for the most part against a lot of characters besides Tao as well.

man if Lambda is s-tier then god damn she's a boring ass s-tier

no one can scream bullshit like Ragna and Valk can

the only BS that Lambda has is her 236C's vertical hitbox and her 6D being full screen

everything else is just solid play

but what do I know, I'm a traitor

She's fun. I mean. Most of my fights take alllllllllll day to win, but it's a win eh? Leading them toward the corner is pretty fun.

I'm at work and can't really do long posts right now. I'll do it once I get home.

Me like juicy info. Give me more!

Lambda is forever middle tier. If not upper mid.

The very notion she is close to Ragna or Valkenhayn is silly. Nevermind S tier, I think people confuse S tier for top tier. Sorry to be a bit unrelated but i couldnt reply last night. Also, Tao is scary as shit. Never fuck around with Tao is she can AB2, that shit ends the fun really quickly.

You're just not using sickle storm oki properly. That alone is S-tier.

236D oki is indeed S tier, anyone who claims otherwise is stupid and does not know how to play Lambda.

That said, even though it's amazing the (meterless) reward is relatively low compared to Carl, or Valk's stuff for example, though he is kinda stupid anyway.

Moved all the discussion to the Tao thread. Don't forget we have match-up forums, guys~

I don't play lambda but what's the sickle storm oki?

236D is Sickle Storm, the little sawblade that Lambda puts on the ground that makes the opponent block for 6 hits (if they're stuck in it). Throwing this move out on an opponent's wakeup pretty much forces them to block so Lambda can do mixup.

I should make a list of how people can escape 236D oki. I don't think there is a comprehensive one yet. And then how you can punish each method (if you can)

Was my explanation too simple?

That'd be pretty cool actually. If you do, I'll make a video guide to go with it.

There's no way to escape 236D unless you spend meter on CA.

Assuming you've been caught in it. Some characters can just straight up avoid set-ups like 3C > 236D though, like Rachel who can just use her wind on neutral tech to avoid it.

No, the "..." was my reaction to being Ninja'd.
