I've been playing for the whole day and got bout 190 matches in or so and here is my opinion of the online so far. I feel like there is too big of a difference between ppl i can play with and ppl i cant. For example, if i play with someone that has a 0 on their line connection ill probably be lagging 20 frames. If i play with someone that has a 1, it'll feel like no delay, but i'll occasionally have the 'waiting for connection' sign pop up. The higher the line connection the higher the online quality. Basically, play with ppl that have at least a decent connection with u. It seems like the line connection numbers are pretty accurate.

does anyone else think that frcs are somehow easier to hit on 360 than ps2.... or is it just me.....

somehow i've been able to hit roboky's dp frc pretty consistently.... which i know i can't do on ps2

also what does that position gauges option in display option do?

What does that position gauges option in display option do?

It pretty much moves the Top and Bottom Display HUD a bit higher and lower. (If set on Original)

Putting it back on Normal is pretty much default position.

I am pretty sure I just played RF online if his gamertag is rf2009x. It didn't lag that bad either.

I almost got a round on him :toot:

ps2 version of gg runs at faster speed then arcade. Starting to think the speed in this game maybe the correct speed so inputs would be easier. It's either that or they did something else.

The ps2 frames are "shorter" while the xbox is the correct or closer to correct speed. That's why frc is easier. It's also why the game feels and looks so much smoother than the ps2 version.

Sounds like they just straight up ported CT's netcode style

Which isn't a good thing IMO because that netcode is suited for a slow game like pre-CP BlazBlue. GG is much faster, and BB-style lag (if it can be called that) completely kills a player's momentum depending on the connection. And if this actually is BB's netcode, it means every single coast-to-coast or cross-continent match will be either 1 bar or none at all.

The amount of times I've fucked up my inputs because of this shit is unaccountable. I don't mind 1v1 but I do mind when I can't fluidly perform half-circles because of one little instance of slowdown. Hopefully this will be patched soon, maybe with the R update. Lobbies would be nice too but I can live without them.

No, all versions of GG run at the same speed of 60 fps. When playing Xbox 360 online AC+, the fps dips and varies a hell of a lot though, which are the speed bumps you tend to notice.

The other difference is in the native input delay - Arcade, Wii and PS2 versions of AC all run at (roughly) Delay 3. The only version that runs faster is #Reload on PC, which has an average delay of 1.5 instead(!). Data to back this up will be coming shortly along with data for the native delay of X360/PS3 AC+. No idea what AC+R runs at but most likely a higher amount.

You're expecting way too much if you think it should be any better than that. The US' internet infrastructure is not good enough to expect amazing connections all around. And no matter how good your internet is, you can't make up being thousands of miles apart from someone and expect it to be good as well (which some people have still said it was so.....).

GGPO begs to differ.

Netcode sucks; even when I had a good connection at my friends place, half of my matches were slideshows and the rest were no better than playing on Kaillera. Wouldn't hold my breath for a patch or for the PS3 version being any better either, so just live with it.

The port itself is good; beats playing on nullDC as I have been for the past month. I'm slightly annoyed the game doesn't upscale nicely as it does in emulators like nullDC, but it's a small price to pay to have your inputs read correctly.

Can someone check whether they have these dropped inputs on the supplied drkmapledevices input plugin? If someone can pinpoint where the issue is I can at least look at it. And to be perfectly clear: I never had these issues.

GGPO begs to differ.

GGPO isn't a blanket answer for the lacking infrastructure and broadband and computing disparity in our country. What Zeth is saying is true.

Otherwise wait for quantum computing.

No, GGPO is a testament to the fact that it can be made possible to have two highpingers play against eachother and you don't need synchronous play. Arcsys wouldn't have to incorporate GGPO code in GG to achieve the same effect. They have the gamecode, they can write prediction code and they would be fine; they could turn delay 2 into delay 0, delay 4 into delay 2 and probably delay 6 into delay 3 with just this minor change.

Played for the first time this morning, only had one match and it was a level 1 connection. It wasn't brutal but it certainly wasn't optimum either. I'll give it another go tonight when more people will probably be online.

Posted
Last time I checked, BB's netcode (the one I presume they're using in GG) follows a similar methodology as GGPO to work.

So no.

BB code is fully synchronous.

It seems like Arc is gonna correct the issue with regions who can't download it. https://twitter.com/Yamanaka_ARC Through google translate. lol I know.

Not skipping intros seems like a really big deal in this game.

I was playing with a friend and it accidentally got skipped once and the match was 100% underwater, and that was the only bad connection we had the entire time
