BatousaiJ Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 You don't use Tsu's 2C in crossover situations. You just jump and throw their ass.
Errol Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Tsubaki's 2c is very good against Hakumen. I still like Makoto's much better overall. Don't need to play anyone though. I've played Kiba plenty. Tsubaki's 2c is good for reasons that have nothing to do with the move itself, like her playstyle, too.
bakahyl Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) Using Makoto for 2 months has made that clear to me. Tsubaki's 2c in particular doesn't function well vs Tao. To be fair though, even Mu's 2c from cs2 doesn't do very well against Tao edit: one of the few reliable AA that works against Tao is Valkenhayn's wolf 5b from cs2 and maybe extend Edited March 18, 2013 by bakahyl

BatousaiJ Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Tsu's 2C is really good for a mid range reaction AA since it's got good active frames and solid hit box. What she lacks is like a Haz/Rags 5A short range AA. Her 5A hitbox is really lackluster. http://www.dustloop.com/guides/bbcse/hitbox/tsubaki/5A.html
bakahyl Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Her 5A hitbox is really lackluster. http://www.dustloop.com/guides/bbcse/hitbox/tsubaki/5A.html Atleast she is able to hit crouching characters with her 5a.....
Errol Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 What BJ said pretty much. Hakumen likes to approach from the air, and he has gigantic hitboxes. Tsubaki's 2c works well against that because it has a good hitbox of its own. 2c fits well into her game of charging at neutral or after neutral too, which again has nothing to do with how good 2c is itself, except that 2c is good at fending off long range, big old jump/iad forward stuff. Makoto has a high hitting 5a in addition to her 6a. It just works better in my experience. I don't actually find tsubaki's 2c to be crap. It is good, but it is more that it has a key role in her game that makes it particularly important for her. Plus a lot of her other shit is so terribly lackluster it makes it shine even more. Rachel's 6a is, in my opinion, better in every single regard.
Sophisticat Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 GGs Neo, XDest, Akira_Shiro. I got creamed as I'd thought. Tao/Valk combo was too strong. All I know to do against Tao is maybe mash 5a, j.A, and get in a lucky counter. I was messing up some good combos just trying to keep up with you guys. Would be glad to go for more some other time. Need to rack up that matchup exp.
NeoGio0o Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 To be fair though, even Mu's 2c from cs2 doesn't do very well against Tao edit: one of the few reliable AA that works against Tao is Valkenhayn's wolf 5b from cs2 and maybe extend The fuck! what game were you playing! MU anti airs are law, Tsubaki 2C is Law^2, Makoto 6A is normal, and wolf 5B trades now. Again it seems like you people are letting her land and then you use your anti-air. it's called an anti-AIR for a reason. And ffs 5A isn't a real anti-air. WORK ON YOUR WOLF KRONE REACTIONS!!!!!
Boodendorf Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Atleast she is able to hit crouching characters with her 5a..... http://www.dustloop.com/guides/bbcse/hitbox/relius/5A.html I'm quite envious ;_;
kirbster Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 An unpredictable Tao is just hard to anti air altogether lol. I have trouble tagging her even with Rachel 6a and that move is bullshit
Errol Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Ok, so wolf anti-air isn't good and tsubaki's anti-air is hands down the best in the game. I won't take the bait.
Dreize Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 w.5B is by no means a "bad anti-air" it's just not as good as it used to be. It will still beat out certain air normals due to it's fast 7 frames of start-up. However, it only has head invulnerability from frames 4~6 nowadays so it's pretty lackluster in that department. It trades a lot now as well.
Sophisticat Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 An unpredictable Tao is just hard to anti air altogether lol. I have trouble tagging her even with Rachel 6a and that move is bullshit JF!! Tu pense quoi de Tao v. Haku? Personally, the impression I got was that if Haku can control the space and keep his cool, he's got the advantage. Use j.A/B in the air, and 5a/b on the ground. You outdmg Tao on average if the corner is taken into account. She's hard to deal with, but sticking to quick pokes until you can press an advantage seemed to work best. Then you get her to the corner and crank out TK Tsubaki/instant j.B. The trick is not getting pressured or mixed up while keeping up a wall of pokes that will trade or CH. I think I'd rather fight Tao any day than Tager, whatever the case...

Wolf 5B is still good, but it trades way more often now. Tsubki's 2C is honestly tied with the best of the best anti airs IMO; not to mention it is almost immune to being whiff punished because Tsubaki can continue mashing even on whiff.
Sophisticat Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Yes. Play lvl5. He will teach you how to AA. Which is to DP everything ever.

Makes up for the fact the rest of her normals are shit. All she can mash into on whiff is 2cc or a D special, if you whiff 2cc it's rape time
Errol Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Yes. Play lvl5. He will teach you how to AA. Which is to DP everything ever. this is the way to play tsubaki in CP anyway, with 2c nerfed and her DP buffed.

Ayashii Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 GGs to AntiAiringpeopleontheground32 and BadTsubaki2C, fun matches.
Errol Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 GGs to AntiAiringpeopleontheground32 and BadTsubaki2C, fun matches. who is fucking with me now
Minutes Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 GGs to VOSETRI! I know I'd seen your name on here before. I'm playing against you right now ;O! I'm dat Rachel
Vosetri Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 GGs Minutes, I remember playing against you when I had just picked up Extend late into the summer. I'd love to get more matches sometime again. I felt like I started playing a little better near the end. I have no fucking clue with Rachels' matchup. Instant overheads scare the shit out of me(Barrier seemed effective when I remembered to use it though).
