When players have fundamentals and apply it, a large amount of fraudulence can go out of the window.

I agree with this, but damage is one thing that is un-defraud'able (I'm making words up now). Even if I try to play w/ a lot of respect and adhere to fundamentals, there's a breaking point where people just say, "wow, he just got 5k off a lucky mash, what a broken piece of shit character?"

I guess her damage is kind of dumb but that's not really the part that annoys me about her. The annoying part is the zoning, combined with having possibly a DP which is beyond-ID level of annoying..

Ehh, I don't know if I use wakeup 2c or roll 5c much. Shouldn't you be approaching her with faster normals and CH her out of these? I do wakeup DP a lot (sometimes I disgust myself), but that's really after weighing the chances. Not to mention if I succeed it gives me more room for other fraud tactics, like wakeup j.2c or wakeup/IAD back.

I realized how spoiled I was to have that DP... Mu certainly doesn't make it easy for anyone to get in. But honestly, if people footsie super well, Mu's zoning is nowhere near tight, imo.

Yep, it is a total momentum changer, it's like my secret tech, except it's super easy to do... I think one of these days I'll try to play Mu with my toes, I think it may be very possible.

thats like a while back when a litchi player said your defense must be really weak to get killed by litchi. this was when she had the Two Step Good-Bye.

your zoning makes it tough because of how much needs to be paid attention to on top of her very long safe normals, DP and random hit into damage.

i can make fumajins luckily but im putting myself in serious danger by doing so. also wake up j2c is just cray cray.

mu's 'zoning' actually allows most characters a few chances to hit her before it becomes dangerous.

Mu's zoning is not even that dangerous on it's own

edit: i think litchi's staff is more annoying than most of Mu's lasers

MU Lasers kinda stupid throwback to Dizzy's tools. I'm glad they don't mean much. Litchi's staff much preferable to me.

Yeah I don't know. I find litchi's defensive play harder than mu's.

different things. Litchis is far more simplistic. her defensive play consists of mostly the wall in front of her.

Mus once she gets going consists of a somewhat decent stream of tiny low damage projectiles that can be charged to mess with your ability to try and time things, she can make them explode which is a gambling double edged sword from what ive experienced, a bouncing lazor that traps you down or misses you entirely and has the possible chance of getting her out of a combo for free unless you DP and D with hakumen. her pokes are very fast, long and safe for the most part.

litchi is pretty standard she just has really long pokes and a really good knock down game, or had...i forget which.

Mu once she gets going it becomes much harder to find a legit opeining unless they fuck up or you make the right guess. but im hakumen so i should have an easy time with her.

because hes god.

TLDR: litchi has to make and mostly commit to a choice, Mu once shes in the specific area point can make near any choice and get away with it.

I don't want people to stomp all over me, but if you're having trouble with Mu, do these:

1. If you can, jump after command laser activation to misdirect the last bounce, or try to grab her during the bounces. Whatever you do, don't run up and 5b her, because nig, you gonna get CH'd by the returning laser.

2. Don't sit full screen away wondering how to get in. This might work vs. some other zoners, but once Mu loldrops 3-4 steins, her zoning gets kinda good. Actually, really good.

3. Don't respect her shit, Mu has decent strings but nothing is really +, other than 236a in the right distance, which is stoppable and punishable.

4. Don't run into j.2c. If Mu flies away, chase her but always count the possibility that she might j.2c you.

5. Watch out for superjumps. I've flown over so many angry Ragnas mashing IAD j.c.

6. Do weigh your fullscreen options and make Mu afraid of it (hells fang, shield charge, wolfdash, Hakumen shuu shuu, etc.)

7. Don't let the salt get to you - sometimes I see players reacting well, but once they get frustrated, they start to play predictably, and Mu really capitalizes on this shit.

i dont get frustrated. i just make really bad choices when i get in.

ala hitting 2A x 2 or 2A 2b then i get mashed out and now im across the screen again, respecting the player because well i tried being disrespectuful and that shit must be a high leveled skill because i cant do it.

playing you, Toan and every bang and hazama player ever has taught me never expect anything, just try to react if you can. because damn doing a 6A>2A meaty only to get hit by a wake up 5B weirds me out.

Haku players can just sit back and cut/counter lasers and collect meter like it's welfare check... Really, Haku vs. Mu is really stupid. Think of two tsundere characters in a romantic relationship.

Haku: "It's not like I wanted to get free meter. Now, I want to kinda get in, but it's not like I want to make out..."

That's exactly what I picture in my head every time I fight a haku;;;
