psycofang2 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 idk. im just gonna drop it before i make ama mad. anyway ill try safer tighter strings with renka. it feels wasteful.
XDest Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 This is what you should do: Record the computer doing a blockstring you think is a frame trap. Play it back and try everything in your power to mash out of it. If you can, it's not a frame trap. Testing things yourself is one of the best ways to confirm if something works or not. This works for both sides. Record an opponent's pressure strings in training, play it back and see what you can do after it. It'll help you learn some matchups. If you're getting hit out of certain things, test it out. Maybe it's the way you timed it, maybe it's not a frame trap at all, maybe it's just lag. You don't know until you can confirm it.
psycofang2 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 2A 2A is a frame trap im just wondering how people get out of it so easily.
mAc Chaos Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 its not wasteful because it makes them block which lets you do the things you want to do every match has steps to it. first step you gotta make them block. then you can move onto mixup. it sounds like you try to skip right to the mixup so they arent ready to try and block it yet

Fluck Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 If they refuse to block TK hotaru them until they die. Pass go, collect your win.
psycofang2 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 ggs to TD sorry if i wasnt up to par. Ill work on it.
TD Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 ggs to TD sorry if i wasnt up to par. Ill work on it. you did alright, there were some points where I felt outplayed. you have a decent grasp of the neutral game. oki was a little weak, but you had some decent pressure and abare. this was an interesting set. ggs

susano Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) no wonder. wait you were kuru18??? the fuck? i try and then i get hit trying 2A 2A. i dont even know how. also im arguing with errol just because. Nooo, I was deltavirus_. ^^ Always so hard to understand you. let me try to interpret. 1. People press buttons after blocking something of yours. 2. You try to "disrespect" them by using gurren in your blockstrings or something and get thrown. this is independent of: 1. You never blocking on wakeup 2. Your infrequent use of disrespect tools after blocking (see #1) What button mappings do you actually use to be using r2 for barrier.. Well, I use the control scheme I used for CT - square for a, triangle for b, x for d, and circle for c r1 is throw, r2 is barrier. l2 is rapid cancel. I tried switching r2 and r1 but it still sucks. If anyone has a better control scheme, please let me know. I tend to get screwed over sometimes when barrier doesn't come out. I think the triggers are sensitive. Edited April 16, 2013 by susano
Errol Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I thought you'd be using some normal buttons on your triggers, but if it's a combo button (barrier), then attacks shouldn't ever come out right. Unless you were pressing it in a place where you can't barrier?

Unless you were pressing it in a place where you can't barrier? It could be that. I figure that I'll just have to be careful then. Idk, its so weird sometimes.
Errol Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 guess there is also that you have to hold back to barrier. Forgot that one, pressing back and pressing button(s) can be out of sync too.

Mucky Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I use L1 for barrier. You use the D-pad for blocking, so why have the special block function mapped to the opposite side of the controller? And yeah, pressing barrier trigger without holding back will cause an attack to come out. You're basically pressing A+B.

How are your other buttons then -the triggers?
kodimt Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Good games to Silfer and Lovebird I believe. Primers, and certain moves that break primers make me hate this game, among many others. When CP?
floatwater Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 because you stick. for pad i'm a default macro dude.
toanenadiz Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'm on pad and I just push A+B to barrier too...
Mucky Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) anyone want to play it appears PSN is blowing shit out its ass. NEVERMIND also, I use L1 for barrier, L2 for burst, R1 for throw, and R2 for rapid which I sometimes use for OS throw. Edited April 17, 2013 by Mucky

psycofang2 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'm on pad and I just push A+B to barrier too... christ i thought i was the only one.
Lufenia Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 christ i thought i was the only one. do you guys have big hands? or do you play that 'claw' thing style like a stick? xD I personally can't press A and B comfortably with the same finger :C so i use L1 usually
