psycofang2 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 ggs to everyone in stars room. now i understand why people WANT 3-4 connections. the feeling between 1-2 to 3-4 is almost night and day. i was blocking overheads pretty consistently. vs most people. i do hae a weird problem i cant get over. why do Mus, noels and bangs do the things they do? im not complaining i just dont understand the mind set that says: mash 2D in pressure, air dash around throw nails and throw out normals even though no ones in range, and just...mu. i dont get it. why do you do that?

psycofang2 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 even when it doesnt land damage and they get hit? i just dont understand that. but again i dont play those characters. as hakumen i usually only throw out when they are in range or coming into range. i dont have the resources to do that so it just boggles me when i see others do it.

I strategically did those normal's because I had evaluated your play-style throughout our matches and based off of that, was able to determine the correct time and place to yomi my moves. I do not mash sir.

The function of the nails is to cause you to block and not advance. Bang has actually pretty horrible range and half the time if I try to enter with normal footsies I'll get outranged and poked out for free. The nails are there to make you think twice about pressing buttons and that few moments of hesitation is all I need to be in the proper range to do stuff. As for the wakeup guard points, it depends on the read, if I'm reading something like a TK tsubaki or a 6B from Haku, 2D will beat that. JD is when I'm reading a grab and 6D for basically everything else.

I dont even know what yomi is, seems like randomly hitting a button/special to me. too much yomi can break your controller -i dont need "yomi", i just need to hit you. Right, Mu's j2C and Bang's JD will beat out grabs pretty heavily and give you a nice combo after em too. I can get 4 seals or a bunch of damage off of a counter JD. It makes people think twice about wakeup grabs and grabs own guard points so it's in my interest to dissuade people from going for them. The occasional JD that gets stuffed by something is worth conditioning you to not grab me on wakeup lol.
psycofang2 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 ah when you hit me i tried to 5A you on wake up, how small does bangs hit box get when he jDs? i got Ch;d out of 5a which kinda freaks me out. the only thing i cant really grasp is how to force people to respect me minus using meaties. even then vs certain people i just dont, theres no point, not in the meaties effectiveness, just in the person themself. I need to go work on this.

Your 5A is godlike but it doesn't beat everything. :D Each person is different so yeah, you need to play the player as much as the game. If you talk to people who play me locally and ask them how to get me to respect stuff they'll laugh, then tap you on your shoulder, sigh and buy you a beer, thinking back on their innocence. I don't respect something unless you basically force me by beating me with it like 20 times in a row. Every time my disrespect fails I just figure out that I didn't disrespect it good enough and I look for a different way to disrespect it better.

Sorry I had to disband my room so soon! GG's also to Daedron (who is probably the Tsubaki who's name isn't on your players met!). He's also pro with Platinum btw.
