Agni Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Lmfao man, so many spammers online; it's ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. You can literally just stand in place and the opponent will keep pressing 2A/5A...I tested it out and it's funny as hell. Can't wait till 3 months down the road for less silliness. Has there EVER been an FG where most netplayers weren't mashy scrubs? It's just part and parcel for netplay. Anyway, ugh, I need to get this game so I can netplay with you guys.

Anyway, ugh, I need to get this game so I can netplay with you guys. True say...though, the auto combo makes it all the more annoying. I'm gonna be honest and say I didn't see auto combo mashing coming cause of watching too many high level Japanese vids LOL. It's actually not a big deal...but, P4A uses delay based netcode instead of rollback based; so it's hard to be reactive as nuts. I have to say though, the online is the next best thing after GGPO. Reminds me of BBCT days. Also, the game is FUN AS FUUUUUCK. It's like all that I wanted in a fighta :').

Well, I'm used to people shitting on anime games but I thought wizz was better than dat, didn't even bother to lrn about the game the more you know

IllogicalDreamr Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I forgot it existed until just read about it in another thread, but is there good uses for air turn? I've never seen a fighting game with this, so I don't see how it would be useful. Is hopping used often? What are some situations where it would be useful?
Tong Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 it's useful for airdashing crossups and I think you can't block if you're not facing your opponent it's crucial to use air turn during air recovery too
SteelCoil Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I don't know how air turn blocking works, but at the very least, you don't have to face the opponent to block a wake up DP. Air turn is also useful for creating space because pretty much every character's forward air dash is longer than their back air dash. So you can use air turn to forward air dash the other way to get away from the corner or something. If they try to chase you, you can air turn again and try to hit them. Back air dash also has a certain amount of invincibility frames on startup, so theoretically, you can use air turn to make your air dash approaches a little bit safer too. Hopping is usually only used to punish throw attempts and when you're paralyzed against Kanji.
Kurushii Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Also Air Turn dashing does not activate Negative Penalty.
Hecatom Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 oh boy, it got updated http://pastebin.com/SMrq3Wzp lol
Mightfo Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 why are universal overheads in this so fucking slow
Kyosuke Kagami Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 why are universal overheads in this so fucking slow coz crouching defense is best shit ever
Moy_X7 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 oh boy, it got updated http://pastebin.com/SMrq3Wzp lol Who is this clown? lol
Hecatom Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Who is this clown? lol Mr. Wizard, the owner of Shoryuken.com and one of the principal heads behind EVO, perhaps the most important man on your scene because of that
Moy_X7 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Wow, I'd expect a man like that to be a bit more open minded and not as well... for lack of a better word... a fucking retard lol.
Sophisticat Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 So -- pad players. What's your configuration? There are four 2-button moves, and two 3-button actions and only 4 triggers to which to macro. Something must go. I'm thinking All-Out Action. Seems useless? What'd ya'll say?
Moy_X7 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Since I'm playing Yukiko on pad, I have a weird ass setup. A = Square B = X C = R1 D = R2 OMC = L1 DP = L2 Throw = Triangle Roll = Circle Burst = R3 I input A+B manually as it's not too hard to hit both Square and X at the same time with my thumb.

I just mash all the face buttons for a burst.
Kurushii Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I have default normal buttons but shoulders I do: L1 = Burst R1 = OMC R2 = Roll
skd Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Oh, i have face buttons default, R1 ABC, R2 BD, L1 AC, L2 Burst, i grab/tech manually and AOA manually because of how your finger normally lines up with those combinations, as well as allowing you to SB easily.
BatousaiJ Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Very interesting to see what other people are doing on pad to play the game. I'm doing this- A = Square B = Triangle C = X D = O OMC = L2 Throw = L1 I use burst by pressing the square and L1 at the same time. I don't use the R1/R2 because I use my index and middle finger on the face buttons so they're not in the position to hit those buttons. I'm just starting to get used to air turning by pressing square and X at the same time but it's still a bit of a hassle to do with quick characters like Yosuke.
Sophisticat Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Good stuff, guys. I'm going to have to steal some of it. Don't mind if I do~ ------ Also, yo, lots of anti-scrub stuff in this game: - Akihiko Persona overhead move does 1-2k. ._.; - Elizabeth = Magneto with command grab & armor or something, lol. - Naoto has easy instant kill if that counter goes to 0? I don't think I've played other chars online yet. There's only my Labrys that's pure and legit with no gimmicks. ;_;
