cj_iwakura Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Best of luck Xie. Keep the community rocking. Shame about EVO, but maybe they'll change their tune afterward.
ShelledMenace Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Looks like they dropped the fee just to spectate on sunday to a much more reasonable $10 http://evo.shoryuken.com/2012/05/09/evo-spectator-passes-price-reduced-to-10/ Victoly
Mystic d Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I'd call it a bit unnecessary since I'm pretty sure the only stage people REALLY don't like is Training Stage. I don't wanna have people thinking we're playing Smash :3 Relius' stage seriously gives me a headache. Too much moving shit and I'm always in the air so that doesn't help at all. That and I believe it lags the game more than necessary. Just a thought.
Xie Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 As far as BBEX is concerned, lag on the console version is not nearly as significant as opposed to the Arcade one. Both White Req and Relius's Stage lag somewhat more in arcade, but not in the console one. The biggest example is the slowdown that occurs during the explosion of Platinum's missiles or Ragna's Soul Eater followups, which doesn't really occur in the console version at all. I'm tempted to leave it at the 2P rule, just because that's how it's done in an environment where there isn't much communication due to H2H cabs, which in effect will streamline the tournament process. We could pick an "Official Stage" for the event and soft-ban the others, but I'd rather only make that a guideline as opposed to a strict rule, especially with reference to time constraints.

SolarMisae Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I say just respect the opponent and allow them to change the stage if they ask, just standard I guess. I personally don't have a problem with Relius's stage or the training one but thats me.
Hatake Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I haven't played in quite awhile, since no one in my area that I know of plays Blazblue anymore. I'll still enter this for the love of the game.
BatousaiJ Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 My only suggestion is to use "Cross Line" as the song for all the matches. I hear all the other songs lag on consoles.
StayFree( ' 3') Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 see you all there. I expect to get shanked and/or punched in the face by a number of people attending this.
Narcastic Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I can only say good luck and have fun, I cant participate and i'll just wait for the video upload >.<
Callisto Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Saturday the 7th is my birthday, I'm assuming I'll be well knocked out of all the other games I've entered by then, I'd love to get some BB in. Mark me down, 'BGCallisto'.
Jackie Chandler Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I hate to be "that guy," but what console is this planned to be run on?
Alpha152 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Most likely PS3. Major tournaments usually use 360 for Capcom fighters
Jyosua Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) I actually might be able to go to this... it looks like I'll have to be moved to Cali by July 2nd, so I quite possibly can make the 4 hour drive to go. Also, if I am able to go, would there be a usable net connection there? If so, I could run a stream if you don't have the equipment for one, Xie. Edited May 25, 2012 by Jyosua
Sharakonta Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Well I know for sure that I'll be at Evo now so I'm down for this, I'm entering Soul Calibur V and KOF XIII though.
BTierK2 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Well, my friend will be in interested in entering, but does he pay in person, or online via paypal, etc?
Xie Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 I'm making an Eventbrite for pre-registration. Do people prefer: Pay $11.54 to enter tournament, $10 pot + 1.54 eventbrite registration fee OR Pay $10 to enter the tournament, $8.46 to pot + 1.54 eventbrite registration fee OR I try to pass it off as non-profit and potentially get the account frozen. Could use some actual legal advice here for that one. (too bad Ultradavid isn't here right?)
BTierK2 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Isn't adding the $1.54 making it more confusing? Just how about $10 tournament, and $2 for registration fee?
Gamerboy15 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Finally! I want some BB action. I haven't had any BB casuals since I played casuals with everyone in the Philippines. Anyhow, I'm fine with the first one you mention Xie.
DragonLordZ Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 I should be coming to EVO this year all things going according to plan, and I like the sound of the first option too.
Xie Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) Alright, first option it is, I'll have it posted today. Edit: here it is: http://bbevo2k12.eventbrite.com/ Edited June 3, 2012 by Xie
