Momochuuu Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I'm still going to do launch 2D 6B 2AB Bufula 6B 2AB Coup B as my midscreen honestly. The only thing I'm taking from all these new vids is the new 5B fatal combo because it's sexy as hell.
Beat_By-X Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I have big problem for connect all time throw corner + AA B . Any tips ????
Cobalt Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 There are two main things you could be missing. The throw > 5A link, or the 5AA > 5B cancel. The first one is a very tight link, yes. But P4A uses the same input buffering system that BB does, so you can press and hold A for up to ~5 frames before you recover from your throw and you'll do the 5A as quickly as possible, hitting the link. Visually, the timing on this is to press and hold A just as the opponent starts to fly backward from the throw. The 5AA > 5B cancel is a hell of a lot easier once you can consistently get throw > 5A. You need to gatling the second 5A into 5B as quickly as possible, and with no charge, which means you need to press the button during 5A's initial animation. You don't have time to confirm that you hit the throw > 5A. Just do the initial A hold to get the link, then immediately press A,B. One issue that I've come across is that this doesn't work on counter hit in some situations--the extra vertical knockback from the counter hit throw puts the opponent high enough that 5B whiffs by being too low. You can delay the first 5A to fix that, since the opponent can't tech until hitting the ground on counter hit. But that's not worth it to practice until you can consistently get it without counter hit.
onemic Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) For Mitsu's 2A, are the startup frames in the wiki accurate? As if it is indeed slwer than 5A, doesn't that make the use of 2A completely irrelevant when 5A will come out faster when in close range? And can anyone give me some examples of Mitsus throw setups and j.B setups? Right now All I can do is a confirm to sweep fake into throw and a confirm to sweep fake into 2Bxxj.B. shtkn Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 so... i still can't time the full invincibility on 2B... when in the animation is the full invincibility?
Vicious176 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I'm having a hell of a time fighting Youske. Any match ups you guys have trouble with?
onemic Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I'm having a hell of a time fighting Youske. Any match ups you guys have trouble with? Aigis, Aigis....More Aigis You have to play Yosuke weird. I don't think you can play him like you do most of the cast.
Vicious176 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Usually I like to keep characters at range and harass and poke for confirms, normally I like to keep people mid-far away but Youske is always jumping and running around so I'm usually playing his game instead of keep control. His jumping knives are annoy to get in on and once you do hes gone again. It messes up my ground game.
LegendaryRath Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I'm having a hell of a time fighting Youske. Any match ups you guys have trouble with? I used to complain about teddy, but after playing my friend who mains him (and is awesome with him), I don't care too much. Chie, Aigis, Yosuke Elizabeth is usually a free win, but my buddy is so ridiculously good at dealing with my pressure that I usually get bodied. 30 seconds in and he never once tried to fight back, just blocked everything and broke out of every grab. At this point he has full meter and once he fights back I'm screwed. Anyway, this doesn't change the fact that it's in Mitsuru's favor. But I have to say, that his Elizabeth scares me. It doesn't help that my other main is Kanji.
D_money01 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 aigis easily. this has to be mitsuru worst match up lol.
Momochuuu Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Characters I'm having the most issues with right now are Slab, Liz, Yosuke, and Aigis.
Lord Knight Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 slab isnt bad, just got to learn the matchup liz is pretty much free if you know what you're doing and dont mess up aigis and yosuke are legitimately hard
Momochuuu Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I'm getting bodied by liz hardcore for no reason. Going to record some matches against Liz players. Do you guys mind helping me out?
XVII Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I'm getting bodied by liz hardcore for no reason. Going to record some matches against Liz players. Do you guys mind helping me out? Have you tried using EX Droit, or reacting to what Liz herself is doing when she summons Thanatos?
Jyosua Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 yosuke, aigis, slabrys, chie Slab seemed pretty easy when I found those. Not sure if that was because they were free though... I have like, no Aigis experience right now... I need to find a good WC aigis to play online occasionally so I get the matchup experience. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who dislikes Yosuke and Chie matchups.
Lord Knight Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 chie is probably mitsuru's hardest matchup along with aigis yosuke is pretty annoying just cause he's fast and you cant really mess up whoever was the shadow labrys you played was definitely free, i can beat her but she makes me so mad

Ive heard people say its heavily in Mitsus favour. Then again, I've heard people say the Aigis matchup is in Mitsus favour as well.
Lord Knight Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 slab matchup is just dont get confused by whats going on, you need to play the match some a droit, b droit, 5d, jd, charge jB are all good tools to break the persona be patient and dont rush in, and get used to seeing when 8d (whatever the bull up punch is) is coming, it does like 2k by itself also you need to bait DP, slab dp is one of the best dp's and getting hit by it is bad news

As long as you're aware of when not to press buttons and how to break her persona, it should be a free win. I get more angry at Labrys than I do at Slab. That's mostly because of red axe bullshit though.
onemic Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I had no idea you could control how short or far you want your A or B droit to go by holding forward or back. This is amazing. Hopefully it can help space out my droit attacks better and allow for safer 5/4B setups.
ElixirelDaath Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) [yeah. i'm dumb. turns out this doesn't work. deceptive blocking in training mode >_> lol] if this is old news, my bad. --messing around in training, i found that if you J A+C Jc will cross up in the corner. Unless if it's counter hit, the damage isn't worth losing the corner but you can OMB for a corner combo still =/ It also only works consistently on mitsuru, labrys, akihiko, kanji, slabrys, and teddie (in respect to his shorter hitbox). Works on some of the excluded characters on crouch only etc etc Edit: oh, i guess this is old news. i suppose it's the same thing that LK has been doing midscreen--the 2b IAD JC. Extending on this concept, you could short hop J A+B JC, and, midscreen, it will hit them from the side opposite of you. it's slow, so who knows how practical it actual is--may as well throw bait =/ Edited September 12, 2012 by ElixirelDaath typos
AchedSphinx Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I'm getting bodied by liz hardcore for no reason. Going to record some matches against Liz players. Do you guys mind helping me out? All I do is react to what she does and you've got a free in. It's easy to break Thanatos. Once you're in all you need to do is bait a DP and she's dead. Watch out for the corner though. chie is probably mitsuru's hardest matchup along with aigis yosuke is pretty annoying just cause he's fast and you cant really mess up whoever was the shadow labrys you played was definitely free, i can beat her but she makes me so mad I have more trouble with Chie than anything. Basically all I've been doing is coup B full charge, pokes, that sorta thing. Then the meteors fall and I end up losing. Aigis is okay, though I haven't fought any really stellar ones yet. Yosuke is really annoying. Only thing I know about that match-up is air throw when he attempts moonsault.
