are there any reliable figures about usa ct/cs/cse sales, because that's where most of the sales and especially most of the 360 sales would be

i wonder if their uncertainty about 360 release has to do with the fact that they're supposedly really revamping the netcode. maybe the way they're doing it has some incompatibility with xbox live? just speculation, i have no idea how this shit works lol

It's also pretty dumb that our favorite robo-girls are being kicked out unceremoniously, but hey.

didn't want to get into this topic, not much to say besides there's the murakumo hint in the trailer and that i seriously doubt that any company would throw away the work of those two charas as well as their playerbase

but yes, if their gameplay styles arent in that would be even more stupid than getting rid of "old", nice stages and music

Yeah but right now we're considering this an isolated incident, trying to back up the reason behind a focused release in Japan, since ZERO international plans have been discussed at this point publicly (although we can fathom beyond a shadow of a doubt they're there) it seems pointless to get worked up over what doesn't exist. Especially since, as mentioned many times before, companies have had these types of plans for releases in the past. Anyways:

North American sales over the course of the first 10 weeks__________

Calamity Trigger - PS3 (112,056), 360 (75,700), PSP (12,187)

Continuum Shift - PS3 (41,202), 360 (30,289), PSP (7,285), 3DS (9,929)

Couldn't find sales numbers for CSE in NA on either system

With regards to infrastructure it's a really gray area. Microsoft provides servers and plans for all titles, which in itself is often why games get 360 releases. With Sony the company has to setup and run their own servers and such. The primary thing that delayed the 360 release of Final Fantasy XI was that fact Square wanted to maintain global player base with this version and the PC/PS2 versions, so it took alot of backroom talks. If they're planning something with netplay that goes against Microsoft's policy then it must not only be pretty amazing but if MS doesn't bend then that locks no international 360 release.

It's an interesting theory to be sure, but until we know more about what they're planning it's probably best left alone.

About stages talks... Guys seriously... Stop that kindergarden act with 'dropping old stages is stupid and unreasonable' damn, did you actually take a look at new stages yet? Did you? There were a couple of shots, remember? Great! Then, if you saw them, you really should finally goddammit get that they are all re-fucking-worked old stages except for 3 ones at max. Seriously for crying out loud, they give you those old stages actually, and you frown at them without having an idea... They are mostly reworks! Just take a closer look!

thanks for the info, sxb. USA sales sure dropped off a lot more over the course of the series than jp sales, it seems. i wonder if that has anything to do with other USA releases at the same time eating up sales, or if its just a market difference?

Chars got 'remixed' = good, music got remixed = good, stages got remixed = no good? That clearly not the case, see? They just think all the stages are brand new. And old ones are left behind. I just say take a closer look, those are old ones mostly, just reworked. So no precedent even.

As for the arcade releasing on November it on the end of the article but i may be mistaken(not so good at Japanese katakana)...so don't hate me if i get it wrong

They are left behind (assuming the console version doesn't get them) and they're not reworked they are completely new, have you even seen the stages?

CS was the ones that had reworked stages because they were the exact same stages as before but with different elements such as night/day or a change in weather.

All the CP stages are completely new, you are completely wrong lol.

They're not really talking too much about consoles plans at the moment...

But the end of the article does say that right before the event ended Mori said (roughly) "look forward to playing CP in November, OOPS~ I meant 'by the end of the year' haha"

So he's probably having fun with an informal announcement.

I don't care about the stages or VS themes tbh, I want more special battle intros. Not just ones where they have specific dialogue, I'd like them to do stuff too.

You serious? Those are global, but reworks ow kagutsuchi port, train station, murakumo level, etc. completely new are ikaruga and a few more. Even winter seems to be a rework of something old. Pity for you not being able to distinguish such simplicity. Global rework is truly a lot of work, but a whole lot easier then building a brand new stage. Without templates and elements ready.

I agree, although I wouldn't mind more specific VS themes as well. I always loved that about CvS2 especially.

I'm fine with them not including the old stages from CT/CS because they are in AN ENTIRELY NEW CITY then where the last games took place. That is the only reasoning they need for "why not include them." Of course nothing is there to stop them from including all the old stages / old songs / old colors (except Noel) on the console version just to include them, unless it becomes a capacity limitation which I doubt would be an issue (except maybe for 360....) At this point I'm ok with everything being new so that the game really feels fresh and knowing that they put a lot of time into adding more NEW stuff, instead of just a few new things then throwing in all the old stuff as well.

Not City. Cities. Ikaruga is multiple cities. Most of the stages seem to be in the city of Yahiko but the stage Bang and Amane share is a burnt castle stage called "Wadatsumi-jo" and is set in the city of Wadatsumi while the stage Relius and Hazama have ("Grave marker of bases" the Murakumo graveyard stage) is in Ibukido.

Did any of you guys pay attention to the health bars? At their very end you can see some red shapes, which are different for each character.

There's a wolf for Hakumen for example.

A small silly detail, but thought it was cool.

Wow that's a really subtle touch but from an artistic standpoint I really like that. Good eye man!

The health bar designs are neat! Except! I can't see a wolf in Hakumen's bar. I wouldn't be surprised if there was one, since that has been a minor theme for him, but I can't see the image.

While hakumen has been compared to the White masked Nine Tails and a Wolf, it is most likely the Fox due to it being present in his emblem. And if you look further to the right you can see tails.
