BlazBlue combos need to be tone down a bit. However, I don't enjoy the SMP system in Blaz as it forces restrictions in combos to unnecessary levels, making it too tamed (thus boring).

Had the characters in BlazBlue gain better design choices in terms of normals and moves, this possibly won't be a problem. Since they are putting SMP restrictions on almost every single move, well I just hope the CP characters have more to offer.

So much this. SMP is going to really screw the game up. Besides, Blazblue isn't the equivelant of MvC3, anyway. Yeah, some of the combos were lengthy, but its not like most of them knock out more than half health. The combos shouldn't be punished to a huge extreme. Just shave it off by a few. Or just let damage not build up that fast. Don't tamper with what's already acceptable.

That's the thing though, the combos were way too long for the damage they did, made the game slow as molasses.

So what character will be the first to pop out in videos?

I've got my money on Ragna and Hakumen in the first match!

Agreed. CP looks like one of the many right steps in a good direction for this series since cs2. In my view.

Some characters are worse offenders of this than others.

Like Litchi.

Also, SMP has been around for a while.. All we really know right now is they are trying to make it a more obvious mechanic, which makes sense and tries to solve one of the complaints with it. This isn't doomsday.

Just increase overall damage and we're done.

Ragna because he's the character of our lord and savior.

And Tager because he gets to beat on people before everyone learns their characters.

TBH the "problem" imo were not the the moves or the design of the characters per se, but the leniency that many had because the hitstun was comparably big against the equivalent of games like GG for example, also, as stated other times, like on the post under yours, some people actually like the ability that the game give to the players to get long combos.

Also, the SMP in theory works similar to some severe proration values that we can find on GG.

I think that is way to earlier to know that, considering that we don't have access to the game yet, and not to mention that despite pozer exaggeration, not every move has SMP, keep also in mind that the OD's change the properties of the attacks and specials, so who knows if they also change the SMP values of the attacks that have them, also we don't know how it affects the interaction of moves with SMP on Fatal Counter combos, on the last batch of videos we saw a bullet doing a combo over 15 hits with her drive for example.

Even when i don't really mind long combos, i would like if the pace of the game ends similar to GG or P4A where you can do long combos, but

A) They need a lot of resources and are very specific and situational

B) They don't end being the whole of the game

Do you want Ragnya to stop being Ragnya? :kitty:

dudes, as long as I don't see CS Litchi long combos, I'm okay with new same move proration shit

Oh god I hard forgotten about that, it's been so long.

SMP is a good thing. Shorter combos are good, but id like to see biblical combos from a FC or something. Litchi was the only real culprit for long combos for ass damage.

Seeing as how her zoning creates salt mines, she mind as well be.

If I remember correctly she has 2 modes now no? One mode with her visor on and one with it off? Correct me if I'm wrong.

She does have 2 modes but there's no sort of sprite change to go with it.

It was confirmed that there's no sprite change? They might still be working on it, I mean, they aren't playable yet.

I just want to see armorless Nu fuck.

The last 5 years of H content wasn't enough for you? hue hue :kitty:

My thoughts exactly. Can't ever get too much of a good thing though I guess. :kitty:

What, I thought she gained a halo when she changed forms.

Yeah what can be speculated from the first screens show, her sprite doesn't change but she does acquire a "cosmic halo" when the alternative form is in play, now if this will remain upon her actual release who can say.

Because it looks better than armored Nu?

Yea she is sexier, and less, android-like. I hope they bring back hakumen's awesome dialogue when fighting against Nu-13 again. What he said to her was so badass.
