What if there's a better one in the remaining >10?

I usually have a top 4 palettes I go around with. Depends on how the pink, purple and reference ones look too.

Terumi may lack overheads but if he can do a rising jumping move as an instant overhead and confirm it with OD>air-soutenjin into further stuff he may have some nice setups for it. He also would have an excess amount of RCs to use so maybe something like Valks risingJC>RC>JC>land combo stuff.

Oh god no.

People are going to be using CTs and rapids left and right so that he can't steal their heat. At least Jin can burn EX moves in neutral.

I really doubt the heat steal is gonna be that effective that it'll scare people into wasting it. There are a lot of factors that can still determine how good Terumi really is, his starter values, damage output, etc. His lack of conventional mix up is definitely necessary, making it so he has to rely more on TRM/throw baits/cross ups.

Stealing heat on block is dumb though.

Its not like all his moves steal heat. And the ones that do could be extremely unsafe on block. Which would appeal for you to get thar little extra heat if they manage to block it. Skye is right. Before we make any assumptions we have to see just how much damage he gets on a regular basis. No overhead already hurts his mixup a good deal. And just because he has a command grab doesnt mean its good. What if its like Platinums in utility.

Don't need a mixup if you have plenty of meter throughout the match to break peoples guards with CT's. His command grab has already been stated to be DD cancelable. With the fact it adds 30% heat that means he just needs 20% meter before landing the command grab so that he can go straight to a DD. That's a easy 3k+ without even putting in work.

Chances are that command grab reuses the frames and animation from Hazama's command grab. I wouldn't bet on it being a "HEY JUMP THIS!" move like Platinum's command grab.

Welp, I smell theory-fighting brewing, and I'm not going to be left out.

5C(1) > j.2D assuming j.2D isn't hella slow on start-up is already one viable overhead mix-up. Regarding D-moves being unsafe, 6D is (allegedly, based off the suggested 6D > 236D combo route suggested in the article) special cancellable so there's that. 3C knockdown into 2D okizeme was suggested in the jbbs scrawlings, so it's probably not all that unsafe. Jump normals for the most part are capable of being safe given no extra landing recovery and proper momentum to land quickly, j.D and j.2D could or (likely) could not be exceptions to this rule.

What really makes this character retarded so far (besides his supers being godlike and having a normal command grab) is the numbers on his moves. Gaining 30 heat off one move is pretty dumb no matter how you look at it, and being able to use that easily gained heat on a 2500-4500 super is ridiculous in terms of character momentum. There really just needs to be some severe number adjusting, lest Terumi be perma-banned from tournament play.

Even besides his unique character mix-up, assuming that his Hazama normals have similar frame data, he can open people up with frame-traps too. Plus his 6B is feintable, fatals, and is (allegedly, from the article) plus on block. So yeah, regardless of the crazy power he has number-wise he's already got a bevy of pretty solid tools.

MY VOICE WILL BE HEARD!

But really, you're crying OP about something you know barely anything about, and is undergoing a Loke test, which means any of his moves can change values at any time.

How about next time you voice yourself in text instead of a image that I should of handed you an infraction for. I don't remember it ever being stated on the site that it was a "loketest". It was marketing to get people to play the games, buy XBLAZE and preorder BBCP. Terumi play was just a great marketing way to get people hyped into it so they want to preorder when they may have not beforehand. Changes to him are still possible but I don't think anything major will change of him.

So to step away from theory fighting for just a sec, what do you guys think his reference colors will be? I'm gonna take a wild guess that his BB Swap color is Kagura.

Watch it just be Hazama and just have him wear all black...I actually wouldn't mind that though.

Also I'm kind of sad he just has Endless Despair II as his theme, hopefully we get to listen to Kagura's soon.

On GG side, I am going to say That Man. On Persona side, I am just going to throw something and say Nyarlathopet. That, or maybe Adachi

I'm thinking he'll get either Chipp or Zappa as a GG color instead of That Man (Though Amane got Izuna as a reference so it's still possible). I'm guessing Kagura and Terumi will switch colors since they are the only ones left.

I can't really guess who his Persona color will be seeing as there's a decent amount of antagonists in the series to pull from. Lastly, I'm hoping Kagura's GG color is Kliff.

His GG color could end up being Raven or maybe even Gabriel, while his Persona one might be Tatsuya Suou (Eternal Punishment).

Does terumi have a reversal without 50 heat?

I should hope he doesn't if his whole shtick is stealing an opponent's meter and then plowing through them with Distortion Drives.

Posted
Wouldn't that be Kagura's spot on the opposite side?

The 'opposite side' of where Terumi is would be below Izayoi, which would be really, really awkward looking.
