not on block, for the 200 hit combo, there was a vid on nic but i can't find it, i know it involves lots of 5b.

Standalone 6b is jump cancelable on block, 5a>6b isn't, but you shouldn't be doing that anyways, right?

Yeah I've been trying to add as many 5b as possible but that tends to push azrael out of the combo. I do:

5b>b bug>2c>cdbugs>5b>abbugs>rekka>cdbugs>5b>abbugs>wheel>cdbugs>OD>5c>laser x2

the third 5b in the sequence ruins my day.

Is it me or is it totally impossible to tk arakune's specials sans FoG? I always get a jb when I try to do tk b feint (2147b).

What is the exact notation again? I've seen japs do it just with j44 j.6d, but in the video skye made he jumps forward first.

i dunno, i just do it like skye did, makes it easier to input for me if i jump forward first. 6b j9 j44ab j6d j6d.

Want to know what's boring? CP Arakune with no jump cancel on J.B. :(

You can not open good players up with this version of Arakune. What have people been using for DP punish? Back dash > 2C is garbage for midscreen punish.

Also, where is the tech? You so called Kune mains are either keeping all the tech to yourselves (doubt it) or you're all stuck on how bad this character is now.

I've trying to work on this setup but I haven't been able to work it enough:

Mid-screen 5AA>5Abug>236B>5Bbug>214A>5CDbugs>stuff

Airtight, the Dbug is pushing the opponent at you and you can do whatever you want while invisible. In CSE I used 214B but since it's been changed, doesn't work anymore, maybe j.214B? Haven't sat long enough to get it to work, if it's possible I mean.

Also can you go shitpost somewhere else, Biscuits? It's getting really tiring to see that there's a new post on this dead sub-forum and it's just you crying your eyes out. I get it, you don't like the character but, please, go write on twitter/facebook/tumblr about it, there's no need to bother everyone else (all the three of us) about it.

I state the flaws of the character, yet none of you can give me anything worth while.

I asked for a midscreen DP punish and tech. You give me an unnecessary setup that doesn't even work, good fucking job.

It's all good though, its exactly what I expected from Dustloop.

Arakune doesn't have many tools outside of curse, specially mid-screen.

Finally working on my tech.

Mid-screen 5AA>5Abug>236B>5Bbug>j.214B>5CDbugs>Mixup

Not so common examples

  • CT>Dbug2>Wheel>6CDbugs>6C>5[C]>2C>6Cbug5Dbug(>5C>laser x2)
  • 2B (blocked)>B+C>6D>6CDbugs>Wheel(>5C>laser x2)
  • 6C(blocked)>cross up followup 5C>4CDbugs>wheel(>5C>laser x2)

Funny stuff:

If Arakune is invisible, B feint is still visible for some reason, bug?

Arakune doesn't flash white when doing a CT while invisible, there's still the dust effect at his "feet" when doing it though.

Mr.Biscuits ==> Your manner to say it is really irritating, hope you know that at least.

For DP punish it depend on which one. You can try a jB on their tech then directly put your guard in case, though if they can RC they will. You can make them whiff with backdash as well.

For punish, just go for 6B FC, you have a 100% curse combo on it, so no reason to do something else.

~~~~
Tested your mix-up Mumm-Ra, though I loved to do that kind of stuff also, but I think it use too much curse meter for a pressing who isn't 100% sure to be effective.
+ there is too much space during the j.214B on my opinion: If you input C/D bugs during it, the adversary can go out really easily, make a better blockstring with another A bug on my opinion before doing j.214B.
Still, curse meter used for this is damn high =/
~~~~

About it, tried some setup in mid-screen also, but finally I will always do basic mix-up without any Dbug to confirm.

The reason is that most of time, we won't kill on first curse; so our primary goal is to do damage AND put ourselves in a situation where we'll be able to get back to curse asap. Though we can add 50% curse at the end of the combo, we have to open our adversary first: and if we use Dbug, we only have 2 mix-ups to do so.

Because of this, I go for these mix-ups all time:

Begin press with 5A> 5A, 2A>5A or 5A > 2A (I use this one for the sake of 5A > jc > jC).

-5A > (5Abug) > jC > (5Cbug) > j2C

-6A > (5Abug) (hold C) > (release Cbug) > jC cross-up > j2C

-6A > (6A bug delayed) > 2B > (5Bbug) > 236B

-6A > (5Abug) > 4B > (5Bbug) > dash (best used if you're back to the closest corner)

You can also go for jC directly after a 5AA, depend on you. The reason I use these pressing is because they don't use Dbug, keep the adversary close to you and are easy to confirm.

For each (but the two last which confirm alone), you can just confirm with 5Bbug (or 5B > (5Bbug)) and go for j6B > j236C.

So yeah, your damage will be impaired, but you'll still do 3000+ and you'll get closer to the corner; and most of time with enough curse meter to release C/D bug and finish the actual curse.

Then you just have to set up oki with it. You'll always do 41236A, though depend on where you are it will change a little, if far from corner you'll just do 41236A > 6A > (5C/5D bug) > whatever you want.

Though if you're close enough to the corner, just go for 41236A > 6B. The slow will always be effective, so they will be stuck in corner, you just dash on them using 6C/6D bug and go for mix-up.

(If really close to the corner, do 6B > 6D for imblocable).

~~~~
It may not be the best thing you can do while in curse, however it's the most equilibrate I found between curse meter use, damage and oki.
edit: Did forget, didn't put any low mix-up, but don't hesitate to do 2B, or even 2C to try them. (but god, for 2C hold Cbug and confirm with 6D > 6C/6D bug).
You can have that sort of pressing if you combine them:
6A > (6Abug delayed) > 2B > (5Bbug) > 236B > 6A > (5Abug) > (holdC) > jc > (release 5Cbug) > jC > j2C > 2B > (5B/6Abug) > 2C > (hold 5C) > (release 6C)...
and just confirm when you break his guard.
There's no spaces between the j214b and the cdbugs, you just gotta time it right. I know that my tech is costly, but the point is that it's uncommon, it might open the opponent up more easily if they are used only to the more 'normal' stuff. The damage from it also is around 4k, depending on starter. It might not be optimal, I haven't been able tto play much so i'm still trying to see how much cse stuffs work. Pls buff d bug asw.
Biscuits, we get that you dislike him as a character, we can't really convince you to play him, that's not our job, our job is to discuss the character and what we can do with him, instead of complaining about what we can't do.
We'll miss you for leaving the hive, but don't be a dick. Take the snark to twitter.
Regardless of how top tiers some characters are, in the end the players gonna decide who wins. A half-baked rookie that cries foul every time he loses sure isn't going anywhere.
Gonna have to admit though the downgrades are painful and hope that he get's some upgrade in the near future.
But, its all the more fun to use a downgraded character and spar with the so called "top-tiers".
Plus, if your gonna switch out of b/c he's terrible, so be it. There's plenty of material that says otherwise.
By the way, new to the thread so I'll be reading up. Maybe get some pointers and stuff. Don't really care about the frame data and junk though.
In the end, it's going to be your instincts that's going to save you.
I think this sums up basically what you just said rofl
also lol at biscuits crying... Ive mused with the idea of picking up an arakune sub... thanks in no small part to Argent
you guys seem fairly tight knit
if i was going to switch to a good character i'd choose one that isn't boring as fuck.
this is so saddeningly true of jin now ~_~
Not sure if this has been discovered yet, but i found a way to get full curse off a throw in the corner.
Throw, 5d, 236b, 2c, crush trigger, 6b, j.d, 6d.
its costs 25 meter, but you also get decent damage off it (3.2k), so may be worth it. also, you can do it if YOU are the one in the corner, starting with back throw.
also, pretty sure i did a meterless version somehow, but cant remember how to do it. i think its:
throw, 6b, j.d, j. a, b, c, 2b, divecancel, 5d, 2c, 6d.
not sure. you might have to do 236b in between 5d and 2c. Not in front of my console right now, so i cant check. sorry.
also, on an unrelated note, im currently having trouble doing:
5a, 6b, j.44a+b, j.6d, j.6d.
is there a trick that i'm not getting for this? i can only connect it on accident like half the time.
pretty sure the go-to grab corner combo should be grab > 6b > j6d > j6c > dj > ja > jc > j2a > dc > 6d > 2c > 5d > 41236a
reason being 41236a gives you best oki options or something. Double j6d has really strict timing.
Posted
ah. definitely good to end with 41236a. i love the combos that end with 5d, 41236a in the corner. so godlike.
And yeah i realize the timing is strict for double j.6d. im wondering if someone can explain the timing for me?
In many matches I find myself full screen away when the opponent decides to touch a cloud or get hit by spider, resulting in curse mode. How do I capitalize on this? Now that I don't have as much leeway to throw bugs for lockdown while I use wall teleport to get in, I need a better strategy.
