Japanese players dropped Millia ever since XX.

Um, what? Millia stayed pretty popular in #R. It wasn't until Slash that you saw a major dropoff of Millia players. Millia is like Johnny IMO, a classic fan favorite ever since X. Dunno why she's not being played now, especially with the new shit she's gotten.

Iono I was exagerating. Though it is true, Millia players kept dropping with each version of the game, for some strange reason. Finally Slash came out and we saw so many drop(including me :/ ). But I want to use her again in AC.

Wow, really? I didn't know Millia players kept dropping from each new installment. I actually liked her better in / than in #. Only because of her j.HS change though....made air combos SOOOOO much easier IMO. I've played her since the X days....so I'm going to stay faithful to her. :angel:

I wouldn't say they kept dropping with each installment. Like I said, Millia stayed pretty popular in #R. Slash saw some pretty major changes, some good and some bad. But generally, Slash doesn't reward technical effort and expertise as much as the older games did, so people dropped execution-intensive characters like Millia and went for the easy ones (Faust, Sol, Ky, Potemkin).

Yeah. I don't know, I guess it was just something that I always thought, cuz I always kept seeing Millia players switching to other characters all of a sudden. I think Yukinose for example used to use Millia in GGX, then changed to Testament/Bridget in XX and kept them through the installments. But yeah, the major drop came with Slash. Only like 2 Millia players at SBO 2006 and they both lost pertty fast.

Is it just me or has anyone else notice that ever since Reload.. which I think was the best GG so far, Guilty Gear kind of been dying out? I definitely lost interest since reload.. and it keeps going downhill after watching accent core vids. Plus lack of vids from japan compared to when reload was out.

I don't think so. I think Guilty Gear is the same if not strnoger ever since #R. Actually, in the contrary, I've been seeing a lot more players with the release of Slash.

Ok probably me than... I think matches got less exciting though probably due to the lack of loops and pure ownage some chars had in reload. Plus Chipp beating Eddie in reload was always gold.

I think #r was the Guilty Gear that people took notice of. I only started playing in XX and I only played X a few times. From the release of #r a lot more players came into the mix. That was out for a while, now you have Slash which takes away more than it gives, making it maybe the ST of the series (tch, I hate comparing shit). Now they've brought the fun back to the table while attempting to balance it all out. Shit looks cool for pretty much everybody. We'll just have to see how it all plays out - who knows, we may all have to go back to #r in a few years! ;P One thing I've noticed though, is that Johnny players are similar to Julia players in Tekken - they always complain about shit even though their character is good - and they always cling onto the old days! ;o

I don't think anyone will ever go back to #R because that game really did get to the point where there was no reason to pick anyone but Eddie and a few others. Slash has its top tiers, but I'm still seeing variety in which characters are getting picked. If AC is really that bad, you know we'll get an update. We always do. =/

Johnny. To be honest, I thought they'd destroyed him when they messed with his mist finers, divine blade, divine blade transport and such. While I don't like it, I guess we JO players will have to live with it.

QFT thats exactly how I feel. except I'll probly just change characters. out of all the characters JO was the funnest to just go in training mode and go nutz with. all I'm saying is they better come out with a CM and quick, or i may just have to give up fighting games/GG and go outside and go toss a ball around or something :blue:

I dunno why people are so bummed with Johnny. First they up the speed of his Mist Finers. Then he gets an Alpha Blade that's better then Chipp's. And now he can airdash twice! What more could you want?

Anyone else tired of these joyboxfilebank vids? Do we really need gigs of hours of a single dude rocking all the newbs at a machine? When are tournaments going to start happening?

I'm one of those people who doesn't mind if they get an update OR get a new game - both are new things so I'm grateful for getting something rather than nothing. AC is looking pretty good at the moment...but it's only been less than a fortnight. I want to see this Potemkin SHIT(yeah I said it, Slide Head Infinite Trap) though. Apparently it's just continuous hits of slide head - yeah, it has to actually hit, not none of this other side of the screen crap. :o Johnny players are lucky. At least they are actually given stuff - other characters aren't so lucky.

lol, it's true. As much as I liked watching some of the matches, it was the same player rinsing out the weaker players...and that Ky was handing out MERCY ROUNDS (though I did see Ky's potential...that character must be the only character in GG that just gets better and better consistently in terms of shit).

I'm thinking the Japanese want to warm up to the game first, rather than immediately release tournament vids that they can talk smack on 3 months later (u suck lulz).

Now back to Johnny hatin' - people complained that he lost his MF combos...but wait, all they did was change which MF he could combo from. What's the deal? Don't look as cool? Well, I think the new combo looks cool personally because he looks as though he's throwing money down to his bitches.

Next we have the new Killer Joker...some characters would kill for a move that reset their jump properties! Make use of that shit!

It looked pretty slow, about as fast as a tkMadStruggle. I await the silly looking non-tick throw setups this will produce.
