Sigh, I wish someone would post a video of Mu and Izayoi's story modes already ;_;

I wanna see Muel throttle the shit outta Nu, and I wanna see Izayoi's to see how far she goes.

Nu throttles the shit outta Mu in her arcade mode, so it's all ok xD

The person who translated it said they made a mistake - it's the other way around in Mu's story. Mu smacks Nu around before Rachel forces her to 'retreat'. It's in Nu's own story where Nu stomps Mu.

I thought Phantom appeared in the end and tried to teleport Mu somewhere else until Rachel interfered.... CURSE YOU FANFICTION

Then this is probably the order:

1) Muel fights Rags to prove that she can defend who she cares about as well as he can

2) Hazama gets Phantom to teleport Muel to Ibukido to confront Nu

3) Muel bodies Nu

4) Phantom tries to teleport Mu somewhere else until Rachel interferes.

Yup, that should be it.

As for the stuff on the previous page about confusion in time loops, you guys have to keep in mind that time stopped looping at the end of CT, so where time would have reset all over again and instead of the next loop forming, the various timelines diverged from that point onwards, hence the "Continuum Shift". With the end of CT came a whole entire host of new possibilities that have nothing to do with the Black Beast reforming. Notice how in CT everything pointed to the same ending? That doesn't happen after Noel saves Ragna, simply eliminating Nu from the picture and saving Ragna makes the reason that time would loop null and void. Takamagahara tries to make time loop again ANYWAY for some reason though...but that's where Rachel steps in from the audience and keeps the timeline going via Tsukuyomi

Plus don't one of the phase shift mangas show that the Black Beast in the past is Nu's body+Ragna's Azure arm? I thought they blew up the world and then reset in the end so that there would only be one black beast per timeline or something, but that's totally conjecture...

At the end of the Day its's BB story so...yeah...

Previous time loops are also called alternate universes by Rachel. Chrono Phantasma is going with the idea that time as we know it is an illusion anyway. People like Relius and Celica traveling forward in time*, people traveling back in time... Let's chalk it all up to Amaterasu slacking at its job.

@mMarikom: I had the complete opposite impression; I thought the Black Beast core uses Ragna's body based on Ragna's alternate ending in CT, Hakumen's short story from the CTSMC + the accompanying picture, and Ragna's bad end in CS. I thought Nu's appearance in Phase Shift 4 was based on what's happening in the spiritual, but in the physical plane the Black Beast's true form is Ragna's warped body under the eight-headed seithr shell.

Eh, AFAIK Celica was actually physically inside the Black Beast when Nu showed up.

I thought like you did until the whole Ragna = bloodedge thing came into the picture

Was that before or after Ragna was consumed? If before, idk, what I think still works. Or inside the Black Beast is some sort of bizarro dimension.

Or hell, Ragna just replaced her as the Black Beast's core/she was absorbed into him like in Ragna's bad end.

@mMarikom: The Black Beast rampaging while Ragna is still falling through time does present a pickle. Before Ragna was absorbed into it, it probably would've looked like Nu--if there was anything inside it at all.

Jubei got Sekigan from Rachel or Clavis Alucard, Phase Shift 0 tells that his eye was destroyed after fighting the Black Beast Remains.

Jubei probably knows of the time loops via Sekigan which explains why he didn't recognized Bloodedge.

Jubei wouldn't let the time loops occur because that meant the rebirth of the Black Beast

Therefore, Jubei is Not the owner of Amaterasu.

Amaterasu made the time loops.

Takamagahara (Yes it's spelled like that) just observed them and searched for a way to inherit the azure so it could have the same powers of Amaterasu.

Did you really think he doesn't recognize Ragna and Bloodedge?

Can you explain what happen in the first timeline where everything that happen is almost the same with all of the rest timeline and doesn't Rachel said that their world have a will to?

Maybe the world itself is making the disaster where Ragna and Nu fused together and we don't even know what make Hazama become so insane and i know about the Amaterasu making a time loops but like i said before Jubei use Amaterasu to seek the possibility he desired the possibility where Ragna save from fusing with Nu because he want to save Ragna, because he want to see him again and doesn't want Ragna getting trowed to the past again and he doesn't found it sooner because the possibility is to many so he have to try it one by one and because of that the time loops occur and like i said before when his eye got destroyed at that time to he got the his Sekigan because he see the amaterasu unit and amaterasu is the ultimate observer that's why i think it have the power to observe the possibility and the owner can get to safety by going to outside of the timeline like Rachel did and he doesn't have to worry about the rebirth of the Black Beast because when he got the possibility he desired the Black Beast will not be rebirth again

That's my theory about the amaterasu unit after reading the phase zero review,i will not forced or ask all of you to believe me because i know i being stupid here.

So your saying that you only read the REVIEW of Phase Shift 0 and not the ACTUAL novel? That's not the same thing!

What did you expect from someone who live in infamous town like me and only can read the novel using computer and seeking for a translation?

The only thing we got here is just a incomplete version of phase zero translation anyway and that's make me sad.

Okay, to put things into perspective:

Celica entered the Black Beast at the end of Phase Shift 3 and this continued into Phase Shift 4. This is 3 years since Bloodedge sacrificed himself.

Celica found both Nu and Ragna inside the Black Beast. Curiously this Ragna still had his jacket and when he saw Celica off he was beside the "present day" Rachel. Some Japanese fans have speculated that the Ragna that was met by Celica in the Black Beast is not the CT Ragna that had sacrificed himself as Bloodedge but the CP Ragna, who through unknown circumstances came to help Celica. No, I don't fully understand the basis behind this theory either.

Is there any translation of the Phase Shift novels? Everything I've read about it was the incomplete translation of Phase Shift 0.

"Just an incomplete version"? Do you have any idea of how much zephyr worked to even bring a single chapter?

Even though it's incomplete, you can still get some ideas of the plot to elaborate theories and know what's going on.

You also should be happy, because I'm almost sure you won't find translations like those anywhere else.

AH, that clears things up. Thank you.

The fact that Ragna still has his jacket just makes me think that it's a representation of Ragna's soul helping her out (unless it's just an "oops, I forgot Ragna took his jacket off" mistake). I have no explanation for why Rachel is there, though.

This is the one thing that I want to know but haven't got an answer to.

Reallyyyyy stretching for an answer, it might be some sort of Boundary-esque space/connects to some part of the Boundary and Rachel is there...to watch? To do whatever? This makes even less sense than the time travel theory. Although, in "Innocent Black," Black Beast amnesiac Ragna does seem to be hearing Rachel from "within him." Still doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then the whole sequence seems strange.

"Faintly.

From within myself. A voice that's not mine can be heard

It's calling out a name. It's a girl's voice.

However. I don't know it.

...

“And thus... this world ends. But before long, it will start again.”

From somewhere unknown, I became aware I could hear that voice."

Unless it's not Rachel at all but Nu, although the use of that dialogue and "that voice" (unless this is misinterpretation) leads me to believe it's Rachel.

Another plot element we will most likely never solve without more info. Thank you Mori, you continue to confuse us even further.
