yeahh that was me >.>

and yeah I agree time travel can be fine as an element or plot point but when you try to build/explain the entire story around it things usually dont add up.

No worries, man. I think she'd make a good Bullet.

The minute you try explain time travel it falls apart as a story element.

I'd agree with that most of the time and to be fair this is more of a inter-dimensional story than a time travel one. But Blazblue was doing a good job pulling physics theories in there (Schrodinger's Cat Theory) and combine that with that fact that because this is a magic story, anything and everything that doesn't make sense you can bullshit by answering "Uhhh it's magic, yeah! Really." Overall, the plot itself has tried to explain everything in a way to make the motives and characters involved seem understandable. So I can forgive a lot. Still, it's a very hard pill for me to swallow that Caelica could be "back" and alive. My problem isn't so much the time travel as it is how little value death is starting to have in this story. Death seemed meaningful before because you always got those alternate endings where a character would royally fuck up and .... well, die and usually fuck up the whole universe in the process. So death at the corner of every slight and seemingly meaningless decision re-established meaning.

But there's starting to be too many people traveling between dimensions and winding up conveniently 100 years later from when they fell in the cauldron or whatever happened when they're supposed to be dead. I mean with Hakumen it was made clear that him even surviving in the boundary a 100 years was a big feat. Terumi as well was acceptable because he's a villain of the series and whatever. But now we've got Relius and Caelica apparently getting caught and conveniently being spit out at just the right time and it's starting to be a bit much. Considering how a large part of the theme is this "free will vs destiny" thing, they could bullshit some excuse of how this was planned and destined if they do it right but I dunno. If I'm honest, I've never liked Caelica. She's about as bland as a sheet of paper. And I suppose it was to be expected that she'd make her way into a game. Otherwise her purpose as a character in this story really would be meaningless for all the attention she was getting in every single book. But still the way it's getting hammed in is... I question it. We've had two good games where the story was decent. It's not great but it's okay and it does maintain my interest and in some areas is rather brilliant. I'm willing to give this next addition a try and I've been the one telling everyone to be patient because the story of the last games, while not perfect, were still good. But I can also understand that a lot of this new information is very... strange and unsettling. Were it not THIS game I'd have said "fuck it" a long time ago. But then if I had some of the information of how Continuum Shift would play out back with little context when we were still playing Calamity Trigger, I'd be thinking and feeling the same way I do right now, so I'm willing to give it a chance. It's not the first time this story has taken a concept that is completely ridiculous and works almost never in any story and actually make something intelligent from it.

But goddamn every bit of news just makes me more skeptical. lol...

Well, Kokonoe is always doing unsavory experiments. It could just be part of showing another shady thing she is up to.

Celica's situation is an explicit violation of normal rules, but it does adhere to one thing: the Boundary seems to be involved. I think anytime someone falls into the Boundary or something in it tweaks with the plot shit happens. Relius traveled 70-some years after he fell into the Cauldron* while the Black Beast/Ragna/Nu traveled back in time and Makoto traveled to a parallel universe. I think Hakumen and Terumi's situation is different because Hakumen says it was like they were sealed into the Boundary via a sabotaged Cauldron, whereas Relius/Ragna/Nu used it as a means of traveling across time and space.

With Celica, you might be able to explain it by saying that she was essentially copied during her mirror room scene. This "copy" was stored in the Boundary. Kokonoe then fished out here. You still have to fanwank around it but IDK, at least time travel is already established in the series. There are series that have mechanics that hardly make any sense (Evangelion with its "metaphysical biology" comes to mind) but are still beloved. I personally agree with you on Celica's personality. She's just kind of generically nice and sweet with no real flaws. Violent as Nine is, I think she's more interesting than her little sister. Maybe Celica got additional character development during PS2/PS3/PS4 but she's pretty dull in P0.

I would explain the Celica thing like what happened with Chrono in Chrono Trigger

Chrono first dies after facing Lavos, his friends has to find a subsitute copy, travel to the moment Chrono gets vaporized, switch the bodies and return back to normal time with Chrono in hand.

Replace the words as you think they should be.

Ain't gonna lie, her stomping out Bloodedge for simply talking to Celica is crazy (That was the reason right?)

And I somewhat like it.

Kagura's quote from the new Famitsu article reveals why he's rebelling:

“I think an organization that can just calmly do that sort of thing is insane. That’s why I’ll overthrow them. That’s why I’ll change things.”

Terumi's quote: “Now then, tell me where you want me to start consuming you. I’ll kill you just as you request!”

Translations are from SRK.

It's practically Hazama with a different coat, he wears the same stuff underneath. No more time travel shit

So he probably just changes his fighting style along with his outfit, or acquires some new POWER that makes him do so.

Judging by his clothing underneath the yellow hooded cloak and all, I'd say that this Terumi is in the current timeline. Much like how Izayoi is Tsubaki's powered up form, I theorize that Terumi has...well, idk, somehow merged with his Hazama body. ...again. IDEK. Or maybe he no longer needs an Observer somehow and fully unlocks his powers.

Take that, Hakumen. :P

Lol yo.

I thought I was the only bronx chic who likes BB

I'm not alone *_*

also I'd just like to point out that while Hazama looks all classy with his suit and fedora and shit, Terumi has a hood on looking all....'thug life' or something along those lines

he's just missing some...'bling'

:vbang:

He doesn't need bling. He already has SOLID GOLD CHAINS... except they're black and green.

Betcha one of his alt colors can fix that. Furrealz. ....... /sowhite

It would be awesome if he changed his whole fighting style while wearing that outfit.
