DerQ Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 http://youtu.be/bSHHfqEfQ04?t=13m58s Soif you rapid the reversal super on hit, you do not overheat. That means that on a hundred meter and drill level 3 (hypothetical), if you reversal then rapid, you'd get a full followup of 6C into 2D, j.6D which has unknown followups. Is it just me or that would do like... a freakin huge amount of damage. Level 3 super is around 2.4k right? 2D into j.6D on level 3 on itself is almost the same amount on itself. That'd be nuts.
FatalCounter Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I honestly see him going up in the tiers. I think he is being underestimated right now. Lv.3 drill tier all day! Plz only tell me how did you make your avatar? So godlike! Thx!
DerQ Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 http://youtu.be/ky6yuWvUGas?t=24m49s Full combo off throw with level 3 drill. 5.1k Dayum
STenSatsu Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Ya he also had another nice combo in there somewhere later. Really good Amane that I haven't seen before. Ora had some good shit in the first tournament video of that set. Corner combo off 3c starter into 3.4k that looked super stylish. And apparently 6b has a hitbox on the back.
DerQ Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) And apparently 6b has a hitbox on the back. I hope there's more to it than what we see. And by more I especially hope it's not proration specifc, that combo route looks sexy though not sure how fun it'll be to do considering his other combo routes EDIT: People have been starting to use much less A attacks in combos and you can see the effects. Feels good seeing combos leading to 3k damage more often :D part of that is also the use of j.2B's ground bounce. That normal does damage and barely adds to the damage scaling Sweet little combo to illustrate my point http://youtu.be/KY44mAKaaoQ?t=8m1s Edited January 26, 2013 by DerQ
STenSatsu Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Lots of Sonya-chan in the newest set of nakamurabashi and spica. No youtube mirror yet so not gonna bother with links but the nicos are in the video thread. Nothing especially new off the top of my head.
TD Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 not gonna lie, l was kind of disappointed with sonya chan. hes certainly not bad and he has long blockstrings, however l didn't see the pressure. it was just stuff - fabhop - stuff - fabhop... l think it was iwao who's really got a scary amane because he understands the pressure aspect of the character. i'd like to see more of him.
DerQ Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 l think it was iwao who's really got a scary amane because he understands the pressure aspect of the character. i'd like to see more of him. I assume this is what you mean when you talk about Iwao (or at least part of it) Iwao is very good. he plays like he understands the character. He's also introduced what I would think are amane's mixups: push them far enough away for a 2c, and then follow up with 5c, 3c. Fabhop, or 6d. While all amane's options require different reactions from the foe to work, iwao is making them work nicely, and he earns my audience for that. Though he lost he's making this character look very viable Though I have to ask because I don't get something. 5C whiffs while crouching and 2C hits low, wouldn't that make 2C gatling into 5C and automatic whiff?
TD Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Yes, should the foe not choose to jump, 5c will whiff. However if they are prone to not jumping, he has a few tricks to punish the attempt to block. He can fab hop back in for pressure, 6d (need not an explanation), or 3c. The former two options are options your foe would want to avoid if possible. If they start jumping, 5c is air unblockable and will lead to a combo. Pretty sure fab hop air throw would work too. Do you see the pattern at work here? It may require some good reads but that seems like what the character is about until you can get the level 3
CrisisEdge Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) Plz only tell me how did you make your avatar? So godlike! Thx! lol it is as simple as it looks. its just a gif :p lol its just the pics then next and so on. (sorry its been like 3 weeks for no real answer lol) You can get all the pictures from here http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?15448-BBCP-Arcade-Profile-Site-Rip Edited February 12, 2013 by CrisisEdge

I was under the impression that the pressure involved 2C into 5C into the guess game. I'll definitely keep that in mind, but I'm still more prone to annoy. Make them lose patience and do dumb shit, spot it, abuse it. This character reeks of frustration
Chris Chaos Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Been quite out of it for BB:CP, school and such. Out of curiosity, is there a list of relevant players for Amane? If so, who exactly am I looking out for besides SpinKing?
STenSatsu Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Sonya-chan Iwao Spinking Shadow if he still plays him There's a few others that I don't think we have the real names of.
NumeroGaijin Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I think you got to the list good enough. There are alot of other Amane players out there but MOST of them are completely and utterly horrid. Been a LONG time since any good Amane play has surfaced.
STenSatsu Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Manakan is the next one on my to watch for list but he's still learning actual Amane stuff.
WillWork4Instal Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 By the way, Amane seems to be pretty weak to Noel's j.2D or a move that is directly above his head. Can 6A or 5B hit over our heads? I know we don't have hitboxes yet, but I was curious.
TD Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 2d hits above him. Whether its a reliable anti air... Well, I never saw it anti air anyone or much at all actually, so who knows right now. He also has a slide move which seems to low profile. It could have its uses in neutral for dodging certain moves including some air attacks, but like 2d it needs some testing. If those end up not working, he's just going to have to move fast enough or deal with the attack.
STenSatsu Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I don't think anything hits directly above his head or behind him outside of 6b accidents. 6a would be it and that hits a bit in front of his head.
Xx_Hoshi_xX Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Been quite out of it for BB:CP, school and such. Out of curiosity, is there a list of relevant players for Amane? If so, who exactly am I looking out for besides SpinKing? There was this amane that recently popped up in a tourney. His name was shiro. He did some interesting drill combos and I think it opened up a lot of possibilities. You can watch it on pktazn's channel. It's fairly new. NumeroGaijin Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Uh-oh. Amane just got un bottom tier now. All he needs is 50 meter and level 3 is his. About time people discover something real that we can use with Amane.
STenSatsu Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Ya. That video in general was also cool because holy shit he has forever to pickup after j.236c 1st hit rc. Probably some cool hit air-to-air hit confirms using that since right now his close range air combos do ass damage.
C0R Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Uh-oh. Amane just got un bottom tier now. All he needs is 50 meter and level 3 is his. About time people discover something real that we can use with Amane. All he needs is extremely high resource requirement. Come now, CT Bang was still bad, and part of that reason being is that he needs 4 seals and 50 meter to become a decent character.
STenSatsu Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) People are already extremely wary about using meter on anything since 50 meter is used for any defensive measure pretty much. We don't even see CT used. I think for the most part I'd rather take the damage hit and go for a drill oki setup than blow 50 meter for the level 3. Though now I'm wondering how long his CT is untechable for and if you can setup drills from that. EDIT: I can see it having uses for matches against characters with few reversal options that you can really drive level 3 into though. Edited February 20, 2013 by STenSatsu
DerQ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) Though now I'm wondering how long his CT is untechable for and if you can setup drills from that. I'm pretty sure I've seen this whiff in some other match, but enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGOF5YDOk6k&feature=youtu.be&t=4m5s Whether or not this is guaranteed is likely gonna be matchup specific and the range looks just a slightly too tight/off for it to be guaranteed but hard to tell from just looking at so few Amanes trying to use it. That video is ooold though. Edited February 20, 2013 by DerQ
Rishtopher Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Has Kei always been around? I haven't heard of him til now, I like the way he does things. http://youtu.be/G5-2RPi973U Watch the two matches of him in this vid, if you haven't seen him either.
