Aloci Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I hope everyone on the Amane boards has a fabulous New Years. And hopefully we'll see some more Amane vids pop up in 2013!

Isn't Hinane-Chan one of the top 3 Amane? Also, fun little property of 2D with level 3. http://youtu.be/-azmZgmSN2g?t=13m16s It launches the opponent mid air perfect for j.6D link Also this looks like a damage sacrifice for standing oki and a little drill meter. I wonder how good it could be http://youtu.be/iICqU_8vlp4?t=6m27s Edited January 1, 2013 by DerQ

I wonder how good it could be http://youtu.be/iICqU_8vlp4?t=6m27s I think he uses the jD instead of j236D in order to keep Azrael close to him and get another combo because if you look at the health, he was lower and j236C would have pushed Azrael too far.
DerQ Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I think he uses the jD instead of j236D in order to keep Azrael close to him and get another combo because if you look at the health, he was lower and j236C would have pushed Azrael too far. But that's not necessarily something you'd want as amane, it's just a choice whether you want to sacrifice damage for a different setup. With such a setup, you could get a 3 way mixup since you're so close and probably in frame advantage and they'll be standing, that means 6B overhead, a low, a grab or simply a DP bait. Plus you get the little extra drill meter. I wonder how that would fair with higher drill level. You would catch up all the lost meter during the combo, you wouldn't lose as much damage and you'd get the same setup or simply chip scenario. Plus, who knows what's the meter difference with a higher drill level on this.
STenSatsu Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19739838 13min video of some dude just running through ideas in sparring mode. Most of it is semi-new and he explores some level 3 stuff so I figured I'd post it.
Boodendorf Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xVpaYWrC-c#t=16m53s Some Amane vs Tager and Amane vs Haz. Amane/Tager seems to play similarly to how I predicted it would in one of my post. I never thought 623C would catch hazama so many times in the next match, this is pretty interesting.
744Dante Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmRRp1O28Bk Looks like Valk is going to be a hard match up for Amane there isn't anything he can do against his pressure. While Valk is in Wolf fomr j.C seems like a great tool to use against him because of the great range of the move and you can get 3K off of a j.C confirm. I was surprised the Amane player wasn't using 623C in this match up it look like it would work wonders.
STenSatsu Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19770955 Some more dude in sparring mode. This time focusing mainly on RC usage and some OD stuff. Looks like 5b/3c>236c>RC starter hits about 4k. 6c>236d~d>2d seems to connect and has a lot of possibilities at level 3. Ending combos in 5b(1 hit) into either 236d~b or 6d seems like a good way to get drill meter and we've started seeing this in the latest Shadow/Spinking vids. Still no combo>fab hop>OD for a neutral OD activation =(.
DerQ Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 So I've caught on to a few videos and there's 1 important detail I've noticed. Lots of Amanes use the stagger from 5D to reset into 6D or hariken when they hit the opponent. The other players have already started to get used to it and your best bet is to jump out of it. Though I wonder if you could do something about that, like say emtpy hariken cancel into Gekiren grab.
TD Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 or 5c/airgrab, typical air counter stuff. gekiren seems like it'll whiff... unless the foe jumps or IAD's backwards, but l dunno...
Toasty Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Sorry for being gone for a little bit, everyone. I was just a bit busy and didn't really get to watch the new vids (and therefore contribute what I was seeing). Looks like I got some thread updating to do~

Looks like I got some thread updating to do~ And oh boy is there a lot, checked my feed in the past 3 days and I'm only on Jourdal's channel and have yet to watch some of the vids. You don't see me complaining though when we get more kaqn vs. Shadow 15 minutes clips Also, following with my idea of having a shared document, I'm starting to write down notes on matchups observations and tendencies. If any of you are interested, here it is. These are mostly non-factual unlike the other document of notes I've been (lazily) updating. Once again, if any1 is interested in editing either of those, give me a quick heads up and your email Edited January 8, 2013 by DerQ
STenSatsu Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 or 5c/airgrab, typical air counter stuff. gekiren seems like it'll whiff... unless the foe jumps or IAD's backwards, but l dunno... Ya, 6c would probably be the best assuming it needs to be barrier blocked in the air. I'm wondering how rolling backward would affect the stagger setup as well.
DerQ Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Ya, 6c would probably be the best assuming it needs to be barrier blocked in the air. I'm wondering how rolling backward would affect the stagger setup as well. You can't roll, you're standing. It's a fixed setup (can still hit blue beat)
TD Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 cant roll during a stagger. if the foe wants to wait that long to get back up that's an instant hariken into 6d, probably even 6d by itself. stagger was really a smart property to give 5d imo
STenSatsu Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) Newest Spica videos had 2 matches with Sonya-chan in them. Really liked his drill use (finally getting full level 3 combos) and blind midscreen 623c against Hazama to stop rabbit jumping. EDIT: Also, apparently level 3 drill has crazy priority cause it trades with Haz's laser kick. So seems like we can pressure with near-impunity at level 3. MORE EDIT: Not sure if anyone interested in Amane can translate, but here is the jp wiki: http://wikiwiki.jp/bb_amane/?FrontPage Has some combo listings as well as links to the Amane character discussion threads on the jbbs. Google translate fails hard unfortunately. Edited January 10, 2013 by STenSatsu
DerQ Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Lots of videos recently, I havn't even found the time to watch the two 20 minutes video of Spinking and I still have a backlog of pktazn's videos. But in the meanwhile, a few notable observations I thought I'd share: http://youtu.be/qWQKxKl3Q0Q?t=12m6s 6B Fatal counter combo. 3.3k, 26 meter. Also, since 6B is airborne, it blows up Tager's grab. http://youtu.be/qWQKxKl3Q0Q?t=10m10s j.2C keeps momentum on air dash. We're so used to seeing j.5C and j.6C that breaks momentum. I also wonder if Amane'd keep momentum off a fabhop. http://youtu.be/XFSJxqDaCQw?t=14m39s I've been wondering that for a while, but it IS possible to combo after lvl2 drill super with 3C in midscreen. Gives a better ender into Raibu and a bit more damage.
WillWork4Instal Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 By the way, has there been any corner air throw combos?
DerQ Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 By the way, has there been any corner air throw combos? No but there's a mid screen one off of it in the Shadow vs Spinking set, I don't have the timestamp but it was fairly early in the set. I'd say first or second set. There's gotta be corner combos because even in midscreen you get a crazy wallbounce. It launches the guy on the wall and brings it back and you can link into 5B, 5C, etc. I don't know what effect that will do in the corner, maybe you'll do grab, wallbounce, (turn around), 5C, 6C. Also, that set was pretty cool. Both players tried converting into bigger damage in ways I hadn't seen yet, but they dropped their setups. Ultimate tease, you know there's tech, but you can't quite see it.
STenSatsu Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I've seen somebody do a simple j.236c off corner air throw so far. I imagine you could also do fab hop backwards>j.c>j.6c>etc.
DoobyLovah Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I seriously can't wait to do Amane chip drives all day long...and it's a total mindfunk too. In an ironic way. I hope they name his drive just that. Irony. xD
STenSatsu Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 A quickie video of various combos. About 6-7 new combo routes off various stuff all leading to ~3k. So far it looks like as long as we can use our C moves we can get good damage. The problem is point blank combos. I have a feeling CT will play an important part there and will probably be what I work on first. Thinking xx>6a>CT atm. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19870058
TD Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 this guy has some of the most stylish combos since dante. he's also doing very good damage. personally l thought he was forever 2k tier. oh and sten, this is old but im certain jayakou actually got nerfed. l saw a rachel a lobelia completely stuff it after the superflash. rachel would have been sent flying in extend.
CrisisEdge Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 this guy has some of the most stylish combos since dante. he's also doing very good damage. personally l thought he was forever 2k tier. I honestly see him going up in the tiers. I think he is being underestimated right now. Lv.3 drill tier all day!
