Koopa_Klawz Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) tbh I don't like any of the starting colors. I do like DLC 7, 12, and 14. Edited December 11, 2012 by Koopa_Klawz
Mr. Kimura Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) If we're going to talk colors for a bit, I'll use this one. Looks like Asuka Kazama to me. Someone asked in the Bullet group as to why its seems people freeze up and block against Bullet. Has that ever been addressed here? Any guesses? It was suggested that it might be frame advantage from some of her moves, or just being unsure of what was punishable. Edited December 11, 2012 by Mr. Kimura
Koopa_Klawz Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I've noticed after blocking D you can try to reversal out of there. Is it me or did Tager just IB Bullets 623B? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11WAIaSd8Dk#t=21m27s
Fujiwara Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 You know what? It looks like he did O_o How the hell...?
Mr. Kimura Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Sure did. And she got punished hard for it too Edited December 11, 2012 by Mr. Kimura
HumblePinecone Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 So I guess Bullet's only "real" command grab is Serpentine Assault, which is kind of a shame :C Unless Snaphance Fist is unblockable too, although I haven't seen any footage to suggest it is (or isn't)
Fujiwara Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 She's not much of a grappler xD I love her regardless.

That would make me rather disappointed. That's probably the answer to my question earlier. If her command grabs aren't true command grabs... I mean I was never afraid of Ibuki's Raida throw.
SoWL Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I like grapplers for the fact that I can wreck newbies by simply churning butter, but I think that I like Bullet's playstyle better. Throw combos > damaging throws for me, and if giving her throw combos means making her throws blockable, then so be it.
Mightfo Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 what the fuckkk at 623b being blockable. i could have sworn ive seen it used as a real grab vs characters barriering before. going to really have to rely on TRM to open players up, or 720 or 6d/2d+RC. overhead wont cut it.(jump->airdash sort of mixup will be decent on oki though, i think) Someone asked in the Bullet group as to why its seems people freeze up and block against Bullet. Has that ever been addressed here? Any guesses? It was suggested that it might be frame advantage from some of her moves, or just being unsure of what was punishable. she has a shitload of ability to recycle pressure 5c seems + on block from tons of matches her d moves seem like they can be +, at least when in heat up she can feint lock-on as a 20f cancel, or simply let it rip and hit them if they reacted to the lock-on and decided to hit a button thinking she would feint i guess people are scared of her jump cancelling and tagging them with j.c when they try to hit a button. her doing jump cancel into j.c seems better than most jump cancel options in pressure because her D can bait AAs it seems and jump->j.c seems to work as like a 28f pressure restart, faster than other jump cancel->pressure because her j.c hits pretty deep i guess. so yeah, if the opponent doesnt barrier/dp/instant block/jump out well then bullet can stay in on them forever.
Mightfo Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of9hkK01Its#t=11m27s Looks like IAD j.d may be legit. A good mixup could be to do jump cancel into that. In heat-up j.d seems to be often + on block so this could be a nice core of her mixup. Although relatively low damage, it would be repeatable and easy access so it will make them eat more seriously damaging things occasionally when the try to jump out or whatever. should probably rely on TRM more though
HumblePinecone Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwTsysM1xoM&t=8m11s Is it just me, or did Valkyrie Veil just catch a regular grab? At first I thought it was 5A or 623B, but their startup animations don't look like that.
Koopa_Klawz Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Yep it did and it made me sad. Not because VV catches grabs but the fact that Bullet kept mashing grab even though she had a million years to react and stop mashing.

It also made me realize that people often disregard the actual "Lock On" part of her Drive. It hits them wherever they might be, so, for example, if Azrael tries to mix you up with his dash, you are guaranteed to catch him and dish out some hurt.
Koopa_Klawz Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wYIXJe45XQ#t=11m49s Well this pretty much confirms what happened with Tager about blocking 623B was no coincidence. :/
HumblePinecone Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 So it's pretty much like any other DP(i.e. all sorts of punishable on block), except its animation is a throw.
Koopa_Klawz Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Pretty much. Which means we should be able to combo with it but no one has found any useful combos with it. Also if it's actually not a grab, would we actually be able to catch people in the air with it? If not, I can see this DP being obsolete in the future. :/
Mr. Kimura Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Has Bullet's combo rate % been mentioned here? I may have slipped past it but I don't wanna read what is now about 20 pages for it. (Izayoi has 90% and that makes me laugh)
SoWL Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) Has Bullet's combo rate % been mentioned here? I may have slipped past it but I don't wanna read what is now about 20 pages for it. (Izayoi has 90% and that makes me laugh) It's 65%. Which doesn't really seem that bad, since she still gets 4-5k without meter (but with Heat-Up) on a regular basis. Guess I really should put all this info in a separate thread, after all. Pretty much. Which means we should be able to combo with it but no one has found any useful combos with it. Also if it's actually not a grab, would we actually be able to catch people in the air with it? If not, I can see this DP being obsolete in the future. :/ There were some combos that used Cutting Shear in the middle of the combo in those day 1 combo vids, but I haven't seen it used that way in actual games. I guess it's because it prorates heavily, has a really small hitbox, and is outdone by other options, like Miquelet. I guess you could try using it with the follow-up to switch sides with the opponent after getting cornered, but Bullet might as well do her regular combo and carry them to the opposite side of the screen. Mightfo Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 i just wish she was never called a grappler. hazama is as much of a grappler as her with his new super grab she still seems really fun but i was particularly excited at idea of mobile grappler by the way, how is her 3c like on block and what all can it go under?
SoWL Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Hey, at least it means that we still got some playstyles to look forward to! People haven't been using 3C that often, so I can only guess that it's about as good as Platinum's 2B or Tao's crawl. Makoto's 3C looks similar, but its hitbox seems a bit bigger to me. No idea about its block (dis)advantage, I should visit jBBS again and check what they got.
Koopa_Klawz Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) I just wonder what kind of attacks it can low-profile. I'm sure I saw Bullet do that to Tager's 5C. EDIT: I found out 623B can also hit air opponents. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zfk-J_7fowI#t=0m48s Maybe this DP won't be as bad as I thought. Edited December 15, 2012 by Koopa_Klawz

SoWL Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Expect the main posts in the video and combo threads to be updated sometime tomorrow :x This gunna b gud. What's your opinion on having another thread for the gameplay info? Should I rather list all the stuff to edit into this thread's OP instead?
Prototype909 Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 This gunna b gud. What's your opinion on having another thread for the gameplay info? Should I rather list all the stuff to edit into this thread's OP instead? I'll ask Kurushii about it when I get an opportunity. I think most "Gameplay Info" material will go on the wiki when Bullet gets a page so it might be redundant for it to go here. Since at the end of the day, the "stated goal" is to have the wiki be the main resource for content with the forum being used to discuss that content.
