Couple questions.

When can you combo into your running cmd grab?

At the very least, you can link it from 3C, 5C or 5DD. If you're feeling especially ballsy, you can do it after 720A 720D if you OD cancel into it. And don't forget that it's projectile invincible, so you can use it to plow through Nu swords and Amane drills, even through bursts.

Why are Bullet players not doing follow ups when they have the chance?

It's most probably because they think that losing mobility is not worth 4-5k combo, but I believe people are still experimenting with her stuff. Or it's because the position is not good enough for that, since you would throw them too far away or you're not close enough to the corner. Oh, and some follow-ups have repeat proration (at least 5DD does), so keep that in mind, too.

EDIT: Actually, you probably don't need OD to link 720A 720D into Miquelet, but it gives you the follow-up, and without it, you don't really need to link those together.

Another EDIT: Now we know that 720A is a genuine command grab that can't be blocked:

Something else is really bothering me. It's keeping me up all night. How the hell does she remove her jacket and belt during her win pose ? She has her giant gauntlets at both wrists, but manage to remove her cloth in one move. I'm sure she's a wizard.:I:

Asking that is like asking how (or why) Azrael takes off his cape-jacket, slaps it on his foot too kick you with it and puts it back on in the span a second.

Anime cares not not your understanding of clothing.

And then there's Amane... who drills things with... cloth... so let's not worry about clothing physics.

Took the time to try and get some new images for the moveset, some aren't really clear. These really aren't that great either but I think they should be a touch better, use them if you find them satisfactory.

And I created a group for us to talk about Bullet by more general standards here. It probably won't get that much traffic if this forum itself is any reflection. But at least the option is there. Back to lurking.

Dropped a massive update to the video thread. Still missing some vids on the first page but all the 2nd page content should be in the OP now.

Oh, I've been working on that, too, but it's going pretty slowly. I can post the ones I have so far, and we'll work from there.

Awesome. Will you delete the posts that had the vids before you edited them into the OP? That would make the thread easier to navigate and update.

Oh I didn't know. I just figured I'd pitch in a bit. If you got better pics, then you are my hero.

Okay, here's what I have so far.

2C

3C

Crush Trigger (A+B)

(j)5D

Flint Shooter (236A)

Flint Shooter (236A, charged)

Afterburner (214D)

Here's a list of stuff we still need better images for. There should be enough good footage to find it all, it's just that I have less time than I thought to do it.

  • 6A
  • 6B
  • 6C
  • 6D
  • 2D
  • j.A
  • Forward throw (B+C)
  • Backward throw (4B+C)
  • Air throw (jB+C)
  • Explode Engage (623B > 22D)
  • Miquelet Capture (41236C)
  • Piercing Engage (41236C > 236D)
  • Snaphance Fist ((j)623C)
  • Flechette Engage ((j)623C > 623D)
  • Rage Aggressor (2363214C)
  • Serpentine Assault (720A)
  • Frangible Engage (720A > 720D)
  • Blackout (720A > 720D > 1080D)
  • Astral Heat (632146D)

And man, Shingo sure doesn't mess around. He even uses Crush Trigger pretty often, which is a good sign of things to come.

i feel like bullet's guard crush is harder for people to react to because the start up sort of "blends in" more with her other moves so one does not notice as quickly that her animation changed. i feel like people have similar problems with litchi 4d

also i think it is a few frames faster than the others

That's the same problem I have with Makoto's 6B. Even though the frame data says it's slower than other overheads I can block, the animation isn't as distinctive as things like Jin 6A.

aha, ive heard people say that but i have an easier time seeing it than other overheads even when it was 20f.(that may be due to her limited gatling options to it though) i can understand that though. i think part of that might be based on where people look when they're blocking(like if you want to block shorthop pressure more easily in kof, just watch their feet, once you see that empty ground you know to high block..although, i think that sort of approach might be why people get hit by noel 214a, they think a jump is happening and highblock)

Shingo is looking like the best Bullet player atm(or at least my favorite :P); uses crush trigger, uses different mixups/blockstrings, uses D moves during neutral in a smarter way, and doesn't hold on to H2 forever (like other players I've seen). Also 2A pickups after 5D/j.D late tech look like a fun way to keep opponents on their toes.

Something I noticed while watching Shingo play; Lock-On does target dolls (Ignis, Nirvana) and does make Bullet attack them instead of Relius/Carl, as seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTcmLj3xxwM&t=3m55s Not sure if there's a priority between the two, though. (maybe it's whoever gets targeted first?) Drives that hit dolls count as whiffs and make her lose a level of Heat-Up, so I guess that'll be a fun thing to be wary of when fighting Relius and Carl.

Ah, that's pretty interesting. I can see Relius and Carl (Mainly caruru) taking big advantage of that during neutral game.

I had a question regarding Bullet's Heat levels and follow ups.

When I see Shingo and a few other players do the follow ups, they are always in Heat 2, is that the requirement for the follow ups?

1 Heat Level will go down every 10 seconds after activation/acquisition right? That and it will go down 1 level for every Whiffed or Blocked Drive attack, and not if feinted?

Lastly, after Snaphance Fist's wallbounce is Rage Aggressor a good use of meter?

You can still do the follow ups with Heat 1 but Heat 1 D won't cause wall splat like Heat 2 (but you can still combo off of it though). Also it's not as damaging as Heat 2.

I c, so thats why they hold out for Heat level 2 considering you lose all your Heat when you use any of the follow ups anyways...you mite as well go hard.

I've only seen it a few times but it's definitely possible to combo into OD and quickly make use of it's effect, however im still debating on whether or not it's worth using if the meter is available.

Rage Aggressor is sometimes the only way of spending meter at the end of the combo, but it's actually pretty good for that. Thanks to the trajectory of Bullet's run, she can hit the enemy pretty much wherever they are, after any throw, which means that you can put it at the end of any non-knockdown combo and make it work. Aaand it leaves them close to you for pretty good oki, in case they actually survive.

Ahh that makes alot of sense now. I figured it might be better then RC into 5D/Jump.D just to get back 1 level of Heat, plus the damage seems nice too.

Let's bring color back into this thread:

BBCP_Bullet_Palettes_1-6.png

Guess I'll be rocking some white socks with palette 7. Yeah, I know that's boots, but it still has the feel of white socks and black shoes, kinda like a school uniform.

Do we need a separate data thread for all the random info that appears in this one? We could simply edit the OP, but 909 got enough things on his plate with the combo and video threads.

Bullet and Tsubaki (Evil) are the only characters whose main colors have ever attracted me to them.

But I need pink colors in my FG's.
