Wild Candy Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Her tail does obscure the opponent on the last punch. In combination with the RC animation, you could definitely obscure your next mixup. Now that I look at her frame data, her dash at max-speed is tied with Bang for the highest so I assume you're right: acceleration is probably what got upgraded in exchange for her initial dash speed. But if she can get to her top speed in fewer frames, she can cut across the screen faster, right? So thats good I think.
Yazumatto Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 ...I think Goro did it? Weak-ass Google Translate seems to indicate that. Still not sure if it's the regional qualifiers though.
Yazumatto Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Classified? So you're saying that's just another regional qualifier and not the area finals?
HiagoX Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 Yes, precisely. Wouldn't that be from when he lost to Mitsurugi in the area finals?
Errol Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 on initial dash speed and acceleration. For makoto Ithink it is all about the initial dash speed, because that initial dash speed is what gives your pokes extra range. gundashing across the screen is less important I think.
Yazumatto Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 That pic was from twitter yesterday. The tweet before it said something about seeing Makoto in the finals. In fact, I remember seeing you congratulate him on that same tweet.
HiagoX Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 AH, ACTUALLY NEVERMIND. I just heard that was actually his win at the area finals. He won against Konan in the grand final.
MoneyD90 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Goro doing work with new Makoto! Funny how he left her, came back, and just started smashing people even more then before.
Yazumatto Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Based Makoto god beating Based Tsubaki god for a spot in the ArcRevo tournament? I can get behind that.
HiagoX Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Goro said in his interview that if he didn't win, he'd have to give up on trying to qualify due to being very busy starting April. I'm glad he won!
Yazumatto Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) That's nice to know. Then again, he was playing with his food in one of his matches. That Ragna had him dead to rites in a lethal OD combo until he triggered SMP and Goro came back. I still don't know what based tail god does for a living. All I know is that it is all-consuming and that it prevented him from showing up at NEC. ;_; Also, where is said interview? o.o Edited March 19, 2013 by Yazumatto
Kujikawa Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I too would love to find out his day job. Does he have a Twitter or something so I can follow him? :3
Yazumatto Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 His twitter account is @Aki_Daisuki Be careful though, it's pretty based. Also, completely Japanese.
Kujikawa Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I don't mind, I have Matoi and others as well so its okay. Thanks alot.
Kujikawa Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Just curious, what is Matoi's Twitter name? @matoi_taokaka So is a particle flair ender always worth doing now? Looks like delayed techs can be difficult to deal with, but Goro seems to always use it after corner knockdown. I never was a tail player in CS2 and I don't use it EX, so I'm unfamiliar with it. Edited March 22, 2013 by Kujikawa
BlackKaizer Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 It wasn't reliable in EX due to its very poor start up, but now using it after such moves as 5D in the corner limits their options on wake up greatly. To either blocking the orb, depending on their hitbox, then your incoming mix up, DP(which can be baited by simply delaying your assault slightly), super(same thing, and generally not a good idea ever), or jumping which you can easily react to. Outside burning 50 heat for RC after a DP, I haven't noticed anything that consistently works against it very well, at least nothing that makoto doesn't have an ansew for.....though maybe I missed something.
Eshi Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 it got buffed back mostly to its old self, AND it works on hakumen now since drives are blockable. It's pretty much the bee's knees.
Yazumatto Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) In today's news, our lord and savior Goro is 18th dan. There is an unknown (to me) 15th dan Makoto in 2nd place. Also, some translated win quotes I found on tumblr. Not sure if real but they sound legit. VS Arakune: “Eww… so gross… It makes me feel sick… ugh…" VS Azrael: “You’re*THAT*Azrael? How the heck did you manage to break Sector Seven’s seal on you?” VS Litchi: “I won’t wear that stuff! These ones are comfortable for moving around, that’s why I’m wearing them!” VS Valkenhayn: “No matter how much of a wolf you are, you can’t win against a young squirrel like me!” VS Platinum: “You’re so adorable! You remind me of my younger siblings… I wonder how they’re doing?” VS Rachel: “I sure wish I could control lightning like that… Our taxes would lower a lot…” Oh and Kuroku is at 7th place, dropping from 14th to 12th dan which sort of indicates he's stopped playing. =/ Edited March 25, 2013 by Yazumatto
Kujikawa Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) That 15th Dan Makoto is Matsu from Central Hachijoi/Taito Station Machida. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YuIu4nTD9E Edited March 26, 2013 by Kujikawa
Primiera Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) I don't think I've ever seen anyone block for that long - in any fighting game. Edited March 26, 2013 by Primiera
Yazumatto Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 That's not Matsu. The rankings have his Makoto at 12th dan and Azrael at 15th dan. He sort of dropped off as well.
HiagoX Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Oh and Kuroku is at 7th place, dropping from 14th to 12th dan which sort of indicates he's stopped playing. =/ Maybe he had a loss streak.
Kujikawa Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 That's not Matsu. The rankings have his Makoto at 12th dan and Azrael at 15th dan. He sort of dropped off as well. Well the Makoto in the video has the exact same 'player name' as the 15th Dan Makoto.
