It's a good thing I play other characters in other fighting games that don't have to hold down buttons for moves. :o

In all seriousness, it probably does take a bit of getting used to charging, then not charging in a round. I'm still hype for dat OD though.

For a majority of the drives you need to just tap D in order to connect the next drive. I cant seem to land a B lightning arrow after a meteor dive. Spent so many credits trying to figure out why I'm dropping it.

Looks like it should be delayed to bounce them closer to the ground and the lightning arrow should be done as early as possible to catch them higher in the air after the floor bounce. But even that doesn't work lol

Meh, game isnt out yet but im sure people will be mentioning the same thing when its released lol

It's all really easy to get used to. I can't imagine someone having trouble with OD combos for more than 30 minutes.

...watching Noel makes my blood pressure rise. It doesn't matter if she's good or not in any version, she still makes me salty. I can't tell the difference between "normal" Noel play and "smart" Noel play. Considering the amount of counter-hits, whiffed attacks, dropped overdrive combos, the amount of buttons pressed on opponent's wakeup and throw-reject misses... seeing the current Noel God play doesn't help differentiate this.

I'm not saying Kouya's bad. He's definitely good. What I'm saying he's a nut... which seems to be a good thing for Noel players in general.

...Noel is so much faster too... and her normals are better... and her damage is consistently higher... UGH.

noel vs makoto definitely seems a lot better in CP. looks pretty even.

This is all that matters to me. Still, fighting Noel sucks. Not a very rewarding match regardless.

she doesn't have the same options for frauding in CP, she looks like she'll be fine to play against.

i don't really see anything very annoying in that set, really.

Btw, challenge 20 is to make a combo that ends in Astral. Challenge 25 is do OD guard crush and 4k damage in a combo. I'm currently in challenge 28, so far Makoto's combos are quite easy, there are some things that got nerfed though.

Cool! Good to know, now I don't have to try to guess xD. 5C>C>2D(2) is easier than I thought.

Overall I think Makoto got buffed, especially with OD since she is in neutral after connecting something with Drive, so she doesn't lose OD time.

5B > 5CC > 2D lvl2 > 5B 6A 2D lvl3 doesn't work on Carl and Makoto, and hits Bullet in a funny way ( might drop with bad scale, should work fine tho)

Suggested fix = 5B > 5CC > 2D lvl2 > 665CC 2D lvl3

vs Makoto, its better to use 665B 6A instead of 665CC Since 5CC 2D lvl3 requires a strict timing

Does anybody else think her OD combos are easier to pull off than her normal corner stuff. The only hard part about challenge 29 is doing the jumping corona. You can mash for almost the entire combo and still get 7k while disabling your opponent's burst.

The new Makoto is way better, damage wise at least. And taking away the 5B jump cancel probably helped me anyways (that was one of my scrubbiest tendencies).

Anyone played a good Hazama yet? It seems to me like his moves got hitbox and speed nerfs. Especially his flash kick (doesn't hit you if you jump over him).

This is the year of the Squirrel!

Makoto's really improved a lot. Not only are her combos a little more simple, but there also doing a lot more damage.

I'm also very impressed with how useful Cosmic Ray is against characters like Rachel or Mu. I still haven't found much use for Lander Blow other then a risky frame trap, but who knows what better players will find. It doesn't feel like all of Makoto's match ups are Ass like they were in CSE.

The only match up in my opinion that is absolute hell is Nu! I played Susano today, and Nu's Zoning Game is even harder to deal with when she's in Dia mode compared to dealing with Lambda's normal Zoning in CSE. (Why won't that Android just stay dead...)

Other then that, things are looking really good for Makoto this time around.
