TagerTime Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) Actually not buying that, if you look carefully Hakumen actually doublejumps against the downward pull of the driver. It seems that he was simply too high up and then boot to the head happened. If that's not what happened then airdrive has a centre of attraction that's above where his hand actually is reaching. I've otherwise seen far too many airdrivers connect at arms length to think it doesn't autograb, particularly when it seems unreasonable to assume the player could've reacted to what the opponent does. Oh maybe your right I didn't notice a double jump. Edit: However if you look at it in frame by frame hakumens legs and the black part of his knees were definitely in tagers hand before he kicked tager, so terrible hit boxes could also be a another possibility. Gerk you play CP Tager right? Do you know if AirBuster is like 360A where you need to let go of the button to grab, or is it like 360B where it grabs automaticaly? Edited January 3, 2013 by TagerTime
C0R Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Hmm well here is proof that Air buster is not invincible, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGBOh3sb1Ns&feature=youtu.be#t=5m24s Uhh no. A Buster has never had a massive invulnerability window, and I highly doubt that they arbitrarily decided to give the air version 30+ frames of complete invulnerability. The only thing that video demonstrates is that Tager is vunerable by the time it takes his opponent to: (wait, double jump, wait, j.b).
Mucky Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Random question: Does Tager still have a 16 frame overhead disguised as a CA in CP?
NumeroGaijin Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Pardon me if I am late but I just noticed that our 6C fatals now.
TagerTime Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Pardon me if I am late but I just noticed that our 6C fatals now. Yes its was added in the 2nd location test. It hasn't been removed as far as I know.
Manta Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 On that note, does 6C FC on ground hit groundbounce or does it just do massive groundstun (Forced crouch too)? If it's the latter, I take it we close the gap with 236B and go from there?

They give us fatal on a move that is so slow that no almost no one ever uses raw. Now if it had super armor that would be something.
LegendaryRath Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 What are the properties of 2D on standing/crouching confirm now? I've rarely seen it connect outside of the end up a combo and I haven't followed this thread too much lately. If it's anything like in Ex then maybe it could follow up grounded 6C fatal (If it keeps them grounded) for a full magnetized combo. That or 236B, but I would assume 2D would be ideal if it works.

It seems to be a fatal move more to just rub it in your opponent's face that they got hit with such a slow move on CH. I also expect that air CHs are more likely to see too, which probably has some amusing groundbounce. Opening with a 1500 damage move with 78% combined proration on fatal probably allows for some big damage, even if you can't use a second 6C in it. Assuming it doesn't bounce, I can imagine you can do something similar to what you could do off of 6B FC in CSX. e.g. 6C FC > 236B, 5A > 5C > 6A > 2C > CT, 5B > 6A > 6B > 2C > 623C, 2D Or something like that. Of course you can't use 5D to get the mid combo mag any more.

Maybe it will turnout to be somewhat safer to use now outside of combos. One thing i do like though is that we can easily break 4k without having to score a fatal counter with main 6B overhead now.
Daisy-Fan Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I like in general then Tagers hug my Platinum, i do laugh in some times. Also he will be alright on CP so far?

Yeah, I was definitely noticing 6C hitting people who are pretty high in the air, mid combo. It looks like the hitbox was adjusted to actually hit everything that it looks like it should.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 This looks pretty cheap: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19771264
C0R Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 This looks pretty cheap: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19771264 To me it looks like a less ambiguous version of the old Gadget Flinger tech.
toanenadiz Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 That reminds me of a question I had wanted to ask Tager players. If you are doing the double gadget finger trick, you do the 2nd gadget finger immediately after the first one recovers right?

toanenadiz Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Thank you. I wanted to make sure of that. I found out that it wasn't a guaranteed punish for Lambda's backdash some time ago and I'm just now trying to figure out exactly how much advantage Tager has if Tager does the double gadget and Lambda backdashes.

It's only like +1, but 360B is also only 6 frames so either be invincible or jump.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 To me it looks like a less ambiguous version of the old Gadget Flinger tech. That's what I thought of as well. And that shit was annoying. Fucking guessing games.
Mike Z Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hey, Tager players...is it weird of me to suggest that you donate to help Skullgirls be the 8th game at Evo? "If every one of you donated just $5, we'd have...$25 more." Yeah, I think it's kinda weird too, but when will there be another chance to buy games into Evo, heh. Maybe pretend you like that tutorial vid enough to pay $5 for it? Considering this is the Tager forum, though, you might also want to donate to try and get BBCP in. [edit] My largest apologies for the above post, I couldn't not make it.
Osuna Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I'm a little curious what the other tager players think about this whole donate for your favorite game thing. I know that we have very varied fighting game backgrounds, and some of us think BBCP would be too new. Of course it isn't any of my business so no one actually has to say anything but what are/would you donate to if not BB? Or do you like BB so much you don't care if it is really new?
Tofu Warrior Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Well BB doesn't have a chance in hell of winning, it's clearly going to be MLP. At the same time, it's not like we'd be throwing away our money because all proceeds go to breast cancer research. Even though I'm not a Smash player I donated for Melee because what I saw on the Apex stream impressed me and I think it'd be a good addition to the Evo roster.
Hecatom Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 @Osuna I love BB, but since GG is on the list and i love GG more, im voting for GG instead, otherwise i will vote for BB without any doubt @Tofu Warrior 1st, MLP is out of the contest, even if the game wins, they will chose the 2nd place, since MLP will be showcased on the Indy spot. 2nd, The current leader is Skullgirls, since for what i heard all the bronies are donating for SG to support MikeZ. 3rd, Fuck smash
Mike Z Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Personally I think the contest is a good idea with not-great execution. Polling the community about which game to include makes sense, obviously. And it's for charity, which makes me feel awkward about not being 100% for it. However, since it isn't limited to one "vote" per person, nor is it limited to just people who would really attend - or even watch - Evo, the entire thing can be skewed by a generous individual, or by a group that just decides to mess with it. (For example, if SG wins, it'd be nice if the reason that it won was because that was what the FGC really wanted, but in the current contest there's no way to tell. I saw a post once that talked about ranking internet questionnaires by how vulnerable they are to 4chan, and I thought that was a great metric.) I'd have done something like "If you're registered for Evo and have paid at least the spectator fee you get one vote", or "If you had an SRK/EventHubs/etc username before this contest started you get one vote". Both of these can still be influenced, but not on the order of unlimited influence from a person/group with no real interest in the results beyond the end of the contest. Admittedly neither of them puts money toward charity, but as systems I'd say they're more reasonable for what the goal is. [edit] That said, the current contest is what it is, so everyone go find anyone you know and have them donate! :^P
Osuna Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 It definitely was very lazily done. Including incomplete games, and games that prior polling showed didn't have a snow balls chance. The list was too long to begin with. I'd have very much liked some sort of more balanced preliminary to decide the games going forward into this charity drive, since 4 out of 4 Tagers so far aren't voting for BB. That'd be enough for me.
