Ok i finally have the game. im going to spend a long time in practice mode learning all those combos from those 3 tutorial videos. I sure love the hitstun bar in trainig mode its great. Also if someone has a question ill try to answer it.

CP Tager feels incredibly strong. That's for sure. 360C and 623 Spark Bolt are both very legit additions to his arsenal

i forgot to mention this earlier but incase anyone that has the game doesn't know, there is a great new option in training mode to have the opponent always magnetized. It makes practicing mag combos so much easier.

Yep, it's great. Just what I always wanted in training mode.

I think it's the 4th item from the top, on the 3rd to last page. The 5th one is infinite spark.

My Japanese is super-rusty but I can make out katakana, which gets me through a lot of video game stuff. I just had to look for the entries that said "teiga." I was happy when I saw there were two such entries instead of one, because it could only mean one thing.

I was worried about not being able to navigate the menus properly, thank you for the link. My copy comes tomorrow, can't wait!

Your welcome, I'm glad to help. One thing i don't see mentioned on that page is the reset position for practice mode is just like Persona 4 Arena, just press select+left, right or down at the same time to change starting positions.

Ok I should be updating stuff today.

If you have any good match videos then please post them in the video thread so I can get to them.

Any combo videos that has basic bnb's should be posted too.

Dead serious I am doing work today don't leave me hanging guys.

I remember a while ago, someone hypothesized that you would be able to do j.B xx Grand Punish, and that you could make the GP cross up. It turns out they were right. If you hit j.B on top of your opponent's head, the Grand Punish will hit cross up. If they block the Grand Punish, the momentum carries you pretty far away, but you'll probably still be punished for it. If they block the Grand Punish and you RC to make it safe, you can't follow up with any air normals because you're facing away from your opponent.

If it hits, you can then RC it into good damage, I have a 3.9K BNB, don't know if that's optimal though.

This gives Tager a fast, left-right mix up that's pretty hard to see. Of course, you can also vary the timing so that Grand Punish hits in front as well.

So, Grand Punish is actually Gurren Punish, and it's english title is Crimson Meteor.

Yeah I... was noticing that in the English acting. Strange they'd completely change a name like that. Or maybe Tager is just yelling random crap for no reason.

I can accept "Gurren" cuz, well, random giant mecha references.

They didn't completely changed the name. Gurren means Crimson and Tager is the Red Devil. During his belly flop he is like a crimson meteor falling down out of the sky to squash you. Its Tager's homage to Kokonoes Astral Finish LOL!

Gurren meaning "Red" doesn't mean a whole lot to me in the context of special move names. I figure whoever decided to call it "Gurren" during development intended it to be called "Gurren" and not "Crimson" or whatever else regardless of region, so I just wonder what the localization thought process was there.

Haku-men's "Gurren" is translated as "Crimson" too lol.

Crimson Meteor makes perfect sense to me, especially when you see Tager land it at the top of the screen.
