Fujiwara Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Yeah, bsledge safe jumps are pretty tight, if j.D actually has landing recovery it may not be possible BTW, which characters have the fastest dp/DD? i've been practicing with rags but i haven't looked up who has the fastest reversals Jayoku at 7f Kagura flashkick at 8f ID at 9f If you can safejump Jayoku, you should be able to safejump everything else.
Snatcher Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I recommend testing against Kagura's [4]1236C super (1+1f) and Hakumen's 5D (6f), those are the fastest things I can think of. Hell, you can test against GETB to see if it beats your safejump, as it's invuln may make it do so.
Fujiwara Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I did not know that Kagura's super was 1+1, let me go try safejumping that right now..
Maho Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 ID is 9F in CP, also Kagura's charge super is 1+1 but as only 1f invuln, so it's not something you safe jump, a meaty jump in should actually beat it.
Fujiwara Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Alright, thanks. So that leaves Jayoku as the fastest, right? Should Haku 5D, count? Never bothered trying to safejump those since empty jump grab/low is usually my go-to against Haku's pressing D on wake-up.
mariusrhpsd Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 trades with jayoku wins against kagura's flashkick and [4]1236, just input the j.b a little earlier, a late j.b would lose to the charge super haku's 5d doesn't have invul, so an early j.b would just counter it right away, cant kishuu either, yukikaze obviously wins, you cant even do a delayed jump into a delayed j.2c to fish for a fatal, that shit has way too many active frames FFS so i'd say wins against any 8f reversal or slower? also loses to both bullet and tager 720's, as both are +0 DD (based snk?), you cant do a 720 of your own
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Tager's 720 is 5+0 fully invuln til active. Oddly enough though, Tager can reverse it with his own 720 in mirrors if they're both neutral

Snatcher Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I definitely have way more faith in 1.1 Tager than I did a few weeks ago. I guess the 2D buff and nerfs to other characters have made him no less competitive than he was before. That's my observation and I admit to rose colored glasses.
TagerTime Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 tager A tier what has blazblue become This is a fucking monstrosity. Yeah i knew this moment would one day come. Im so happy It brings a tear to my eye lol. Also if you look at the semi finals result Team Tager was pretty close to beating Team Relius for at least 2nd place. Plus Team Relius had 12 team members and Team Tager only had 6. I didnt even expect Team Tager to make top 8. i was extremely surprised that they made 3rd place out of so many people in that 24 team tournament. i cant wait to see the videos of team Tager in the tournament. Semi-finals:Relius vs. Tager – 7-5
sinder Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 yea, I also need to see how a team full of Tagers made it to 3rd place....
SoWL Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 On one hand, I'm not that quick to believe the Arcadia list, but on the other hand, those tournament results do look pretty good. We'll see how much of it is the grappler factor and how much is genuine balance in the long run.
Hecatom Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Yo, i want to know if it's just me or what, but now that i have been playing BB again i feel that all of Tager's normals feel "weak" to say it in a way, like i have been being stuffed from normals in certain situations, for example 2D, even worse because i have been hit out of my normal and my opponent wasn't hit by my attack :/ Of course, i am not saying that Tager is weak, but i certainly find odd that some normals seem to have weaker hitboxes :/
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Get used to never using your backstep ever again. Seriously I have no idea what Tager did to deserve this.
just some guy Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 5A>2B>3C>AC WHIFF>6A>2C>GF 19295A>5B>JA>JC>GP 1968 5A>2B>5B>3C>Asledge>Hammer 2000 On that first one the Gadget Finger is dropping every time.
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 On that first one the Gadget Finger is dropping every time. You're doing it too slow then.
mAc Chaos Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Get used to never using your backstep ever again. Seriously I have no idea what Tager did to deserve this. But he's listed as A tier.I wonder if this is another season of "week 1 Tager S tier" syndrome or if it's more like Haku's changes where he ended up good but they took apart his old style. On that note I feel like CP Tager has so many more gimmicks than previous iterations.
TagerTime Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Get used to never using your backstep ever again. Seriously I have no idea what Tager did to deserve this. well the japanese players still use his backdash alot from all the 1.1 videos i have seen
Argent Zero Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 The 5a nerf hurts... alot. Also the backdash nerf... hurts? I don't know, it doesn't bother me too much. Maybe I'm just oblivious to how much damage this downgrade is. Ah well, guess it's back to tech trapping and rapid cancel grabs.
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 well the japanese players still use his backdash alot from all the 1.1 videos i have seen You can use it sure but you'll only -ever- be able to do anything with it on psychic reads. It's fucking 28 frames now. To put that in perspective, that's the same as the startup on 6C. I have people whiffing non-A moves and still punishing me with 5B/5C now. I really just don't understand it. Backstep -> punish grab is just such an integral part of being a grappler. If they were going to nerf his backstep at all they should have just removed a few invuln frames. The increased time is what makes it so bad, even if we got another single frame of invuln. I know basically everyone got their backdash duration increased by a few frames, but Tager got one of the largest amounts added (5 frames 23->28) which is just silly as he's a character who actually uses it as an important tool. As a player who's played Tager intensively and competitively I loaded up the patch, used a backstep and immediately went "WHOOAAAA WHY AM I FLOATING THROUGH THE SKY"
Valthazeryus Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Just one of those things that can't be controlled. Looking at the old 1.10 videos, it just feels more like the game changed to make you play more reset-like. Any 5A/2A hit just either goes into GF or AC reset. I really don't agree with the 5A/2A nerf. Really should've just reworked the prorations to let the damage scale fairly.
