Dawn of Musou Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I went to check the date on that video to see how recent it was (it's 6/30 btw), Fenrich team won that tournament. http://ko-hatsu.com/event/cg/event/bb/cp/3on3_2.jpg can you guess which one is him lol? He beat KOG tager in tournament convincingly...who is pretty good imo. Nationals must really get to him, but its good to see footage of him again. He got a CH hizansen and tried to follow up with 2B..it missed but I'm assuming its possible. Shikkoku Jin also shows up around 35 Minutes He's the one with the mask because too pro to show his entire face. And is Shikkoku the one whose title was Code Revise or something like that? Was wondering who it was cause he was pretty good.
Jourdal Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Yeah Code Revise is Shikkoku, and Fenrich is indeed the kid in the mask lol
Jyosua Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 This was probably already assumed, but I found that, with proper spacing, you can use j.214D(1) at the end of a corner combo to freeze the opponent, land, and do a few more normals before ending with sekkajin for oki. I'd say it's probably worth the 25 meter.
darkasjinksu§ Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Yeah, but in a highly prorated combo, You'd probably only be able to do 6C- 22C. Also, why not get that second hit in there for some extra damage, It has a shit-ton of untechable time.
Dawn of Musou Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Probably wouldn't use Hizangeki in a highly prorated combo anyway unless it's to end the round. Still though, getting combos with the first hit of Hizangeki just seems like it could be cool
Moy_X7 Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 Yeah, you can freeze with the first hit, land, and do 6C > 214B > Stuff if you haven't already used 214B. If not you can always do 6C > 22C > Stuff. From what I've seen, it's more of a match ender than anything. I'd rather use the meter for a 6C > CT early in the combo for huge damage.
xlolxlolx Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 id say pretty much if you just got the meter for it from air combo and need a little bit more to win
Putin Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 (edited) Yeah people mostly use its first hit up high in the air when they need a little more damage but can't extend their combos with a simple j.D > land Edit: http://youtu.be/iV28L0rna7I?t=16m57s 4.4k off FC 5D > Tousshougeki in the corner without any j.2C > j.C stuff... pretty nice. 6D (no freeze) > 5C should work even without a FC, right? I'm pretty sure you could indeed follow it up in the CS series. Edited July 8, 2013 by Putin

Of course there are (almost) always exceptions, but it seems like it generally wouldn't be worth it.
Jourdal Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) This was probably already assumed, but I found that, with proper spacing, you can use j.214D(1) at the end of a corner combo to freeze the opponent, land, and do a few more normals before ending with sekkajin for oki. I'd say it's probably worth the 25 meter. Jins have been doing j214D(1) for a while now actually, but only in midscreen combos. Ironically i rarely see it for closing. N-O is the one i see doing it most. I don't think it's something I want to bother with personally. I guess you all so Ronitta and Ryuusei representing Jin in that tournament, no need for me to link here i guess haha. Edited July 9, 2013 by Jourdal
xlolxlolx Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 no freeze 6d>5c was like cs1 standard combo part :o
Moy_X7 Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) As far as combo threads go, what would you guys prefer? A comprehensive combo list that lists every possible combo from every starter or a list of "combo routes"? The former is extremely time consuming, specially when jotting down all the damage done and heat gained from every combo. It can also be overwhelming for the reader and in the end people probably just go "Ain't nobody got time for that". The latter can be completed in a few hours and is not as overwhelming for the reader. It removes the necessity to list repeat combos from different starters. However, if the combo can only be done from a single, specific starter then I'll list that combo individually. Personally, I prefer the latter now but I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter. eQualz Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I like the latter because it's so much easier on the eyes. Plus CP Jin doesn't look like he needs an in-depth combo guide anyway. Hizangeki yo~
cadacus_ater Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Agreed. CP Jin looks pretty simple so we shouldn't need much more than combo routes. We could post optimized stuff or character specific stuff later for the determined individual, but no real need to put stuff like that up front imo. Plus OD is pretty much freestyle mode; optimizing that would be very tedious.
Dawn of Musou Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 It's better for the eyes, it's less work on you and I love the way it looks so I'd go for the latter as well~
Moy_X7 Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 I figured as much, alright then, we'll go with the second (much better) option lol
abadlime Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Does anyone know if in CP that Yukikaze still gets multiple hits on nirvana/ignis?
darkasjinksu§ Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) It should, but as far as I know there's no video proof. I'm almost certain it will still work, though. Maybe even on Sekka follow up too :P Anyway, does anyone think 5B-5C-j2C-jD- stuff will work? It feels like it should. Edited July 17, 2013 by darkasjinksu§
xlolxlolx Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 you mean j.d air dash combos? of course they work but ppl opt not to do it because of how much time it takes
shtkn Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 maybe restand j.D combos can be used to reset the opponent like we do now with j.D > air dash > stuff > 5AAA > reset
darkasjinksu§ Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 No no no, I mean 5B-5C-j2C-jD land microdash 5B-5C-(2C)-3C-musou for a basic bnb, instead of 5B-5C-2C-3C-musou. It would improve his midscreen by quite a bit, and I haven't seen anybody try it.
Moy_X7 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 Anyway, does anyone think 5B-5C-j2C-jD- stuff will work? It feels like it should. As an anti-air or on a standing opponent? If it's the latter, I remember way back in the day during location tests that someone confirmed that 5C > Rising j.2C didn't work any more. It might work on Tager but who knows, we'll find out soon enough. If it's the former, I don't know, depends on what you wanna do. You get better oki off the AD j.2C > j.C route but you get a lot more damage off a relaunch > air combo.
darkasjinksu§ Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Ah, that's too bad. Yeah, if there was a meterless way to extend standing bnb they probably would've found it already.
xlolxlolx Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 yeah im pretty sure its been confirmed long ago that doesnt work, anti air 5b its really best to just do like 5b>5c>2c>hj.c>j.2c>dj.a>j.c>j.d then land for forced air tech oki, does good dmg and is one of the things that's closest to a real okizeme in bb and the only character that can disrespect it is ragna
