Binkley Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I'm all for Super but I'm biased since I'm totally part of the IEBG and there often for Marvel/3D games/whatever (Injustice? lol). Though couldn't there be bi-weeklies at BOTH places (one week at super, next at UCI, etc) or would that burn out the community? Also I totally forgot to say bye to you James so good luck in Japan! Hope to see you at EVO! I won't be at Rebel Up tomorrow but please let people know IEBG is running a team tourney on the 16th @ 2pm. http://ie-battlegrounds.blogspot.com/2013/03/versus-mahem-vol5-umvc3-ae2012-p4a-team.html I've consulted with Mando, Joshua, James, and Cody and here are the rules we'll be using for the P4A team tourney on the 16th. These rules are designed to be as inclusive as possible from the viewpoint of forming teams. Team rules -Must have 3 members (you can't pay twice and play twice for example) -No character uniquness (go team 3x Labrys!) -Pokemon style -Each match is a 2 out of 3 set (like a regular match at TRB) -No character lock (winner must keep their character during a set) It's basically the Street Fighter IV team rules. If you guys have any questions let me know.
TlocCPU Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Whoever is on the superarcade account(watts?), I have no intention on losing anybody to the UCI ranbats. A few of us are going to it this week since it's a Sunday, but I prefer super arcade over that largely. UCI caps their entrants to about 16, and our community is far greater than that. The reason P4 is on the ropes at the UCI thing already is because their players are coming to play with us instead. I want to keep the community at Super as long as you are willing to have us, and if people go to UCI instead, it's their loss, but as far as I'm concerned the bulk of the community would rather stick with the Rebel Up series at super.
Shazam Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 wuts wrong with UCI guuys? btw, James...BB ft5, $100 mm. get at me. I just find the Arcade to be closer to me and not you a better setting for gatherings overall, there's just that awesome nostalgic feel going to an Arcade to play, and hang out. Plus there's a bunch of great food that's within walking distance so yeah. Agreed with Cody. We don't want to cap our numbers to 15 and be forced to play on like 3 or 4 setups.
glod Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 It's about the same distance for me either way, so I don't really care. UCI doesn't have DJ MAX though
Valin Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Perhaps excessive and unnecessary, since people probably have read the other thread, but just in case I figured I'd clarify here as well. The UCI event in question is here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?15914-FG-UCI-Ranbat-P4A-Side-Tournament-3-10-13-Irvine-CA Persona 4 as of right now is not an official game at UCI. The main reasons we made a DL post are: 1) Official game status depends on popularity. We needed numbers so we could beat out other games for the last official game slot. 2) By stroke of luck, the date of our event got pushed back a day and doesn't conflict with Saturday's Rebel Up, so we figured, might as well try to get people to help out our cause. So, in no way shape or form are we trying to take any members away from the Rebel Up events. In fact, I've been to Rebel Up a couple times and I have to say that it's by far the best regular event for anime fighters I've been to. If I didn't have a night shift on Saturdays I'd probably go to super every 2 weeks instead of UCI lol. Anyway, sorry for the confusion guys. We have zero intention of conflicting with Rebel Up--we just want help getting P4 in as an official game at our own place. Thanks!
