I'm still relatively new to anime fighters in general, but the BB games have had my attention for awhile, and I've been following footage of CP that's been coming out. I know dustloop runs weekly ranbats and such but I dunno how the rest of the online population fares.

Getting to the point: In getting into the BB games, should I spend time finding CSEX and learning it, or just waiting for CP to come out and getting into the scene then?

CP probably won't be out for a few more months at least, so you have to ask yourself is a few months of learning and experience worth $20. It sure wouldn't hurt at least, especially if you're just getting into the game.

The other thing you might be interested in is the fact that Extend has the story for everything revealed so far in the games, so if you care about that kinda stuff it's kinda nice to have.

As for online, there's still people playing so that isn't really an issue as long as you actively look for people to play against.

The sooner you start, the better you'll be when BBCP is released. It's not like everything about the game is changing.

Yeah, the things that change most obviously between games are combos, but skills like blocking mixups and neutral transfer over.

The opportunity cost of getting into BB now (aka the price) is super low, so there's not really any reason NOT to jump in. The more experience you have, the easier it will be to learn CP when it comes out. You don't think all those people who are really good at SF4 got that good by starting the game from nothing in 2009, do you? :)

Here's one. Is it worth getting extend if you already have continuum shift and have pre-ordered persona 4 arena? (if it means anything, I plan to pick up Makoto in CP)

Pre-ordering P4A has nothing to do with BB, unless you mean you won't be spending time on BB because of P4A in which case the question is meaningless about CS or EX anyway if you aren't going to put time into it.

If we are to ignore that comment entirely, the same thing applies that has previously been said. I can't speak directly on Makoto but I imagine EX Makoto is closer to CP Makoto than CS Makoto, regardless it is still the same question you have to ask yourself.

Is it worth X amount of money to learn stuff/actively play people now compared to what you already have OR just wait?

We can't really answer that for you besides what has already been stated.

That isn't really helping but would you recommend buying extend?

Only you can decide whether the price of a game is worth it to you.

I presume since you have "pre-ordered" P4A that you are in Europe somewhere, so I don't know what Extend costs to you. Apparently in the UK it's between £13 and £14 or so, which isn't expensive by my metrics. If you are interested in BB, I think you should have Extend, because for the foreseeable future, it's the version of the game we're going to be playing.

I just paid 40€ for the limited edition since it was the only copy of the game that I found in Finland. A bit of a salty price, but I don't wanna start waiting 1-2 weeks for it to ship here from other countries.

Now trying to figure out who to main, probably going for Noel or the girl whos name starts with K and has a shield and a sword of some sort. :>
