I feel like the game is emphasizing your BADASS victory more than their pathetic defeat.

Either way I love it when there's emphasis on the ending.

Nope, Roman is restricted to landed hits only... while Rapid can be even used with projectiles.

Rapid cancels cannot be used with projectiles

Have you been able to see Chipp's wall cling at all? or heard anything about it?

So 2 questions with RCs:

Can you do the whiff RC anytime during the move or only after the active frames start (so the system knows it 'whiffed')?

Is there no way to cancel specials on whiff or pre-active/post-active frames now?

Venom stage is like old GGX stage w chained beast.

May giant beach ball is summoned with a seal from the ground who hits it really high up and it slowly bounces forward controlling lots of space. Can combo off it.

So like in BB and P4, oh well not like it takes anything from the game. Also Type-A master race, there's no other way.

Yeah, I'm all for including that type of thing. Doesn't make the game any easier to play, just easier to learn, and that's always a positive imo.

Some quick notes from the article:

The key point of development for the new system was to make the Roman Cancel mechanic more interesting, such as using it to to attack simultaneously with projectiles and to slow time. Right now it comes in two types (colors): red and yellow. Other colors were hinted as possibilities.

They're now using LCD monitors.

The SE and BGM in the loketest were recycled from older games.

It also talks about the core concept behind each character's playstyle, but nothing really interesting there; Sol is easy to use because he's a hero, Ky has grinders to enhance his projectiles, May is catchy and gets help from animals, Chipp's more ninja-like, Millia is fast and tricky, Potemkin has changed a lot visually but retains his characteristic abilities, Venom has changed the least but his ball techniques are easier and more like playing billiards than ever.

Sol dive kick has a small explosion fire hit that comes out if it whiffs and he lands on the ground. His dive kick is also really fast

Is it an overhead?

Other colors were hinted as possibilities.

Awww.

Interesting to hear them talk about character concept playstyle-wise though, you rarely get to hear them talk much about that in detail.
