That's exactly what I'm saying. If RS is blocked, Sol can do an aerial before landing, or jump, because it's auto JI'd. You can watch the third match in the footage and see for yourself.

Much gratitude for the upload, Dandy J! Great video. That third match... Wow.

I see now what people are saying about the speed difference. Movement seems roughly the same as it's always been, but the increased block/hit stun makes the hits inside of combos feel a little less like machine gun fire and closer to someone fanning a revolver. I don't know, I can't think of a good analogy right now. Point is, the rhythm of the gameplay feels a smidge different. Not even necessarily slower, just... different.

I think they might have gone a bit overboard with the guts ratings this time around. Characters look like they take about four to five times as much damage at full health than they do when they're down to their last 10%. Every single match in this game is going to be crazy hype, haha.

They're really close to making an interactive anime. It makes me wonder what story mode will be like when it hit consoles.

Numerous people have stated Sin is in Sols intro, I just watched the video with 2 Sol fights and I couldn't spot him. Where is he?

Thanks for the footage capture dudes. Game looks freakin' great.

Gonna miss the old Hemi Jack hit animation for Bedman. The new bed-beast doesn't do the "raging demon" screen distortion like the old which is too bad but still pretty cool.

Also looks like you get a bunch more slow mo time with RC apposed to YRC, or was that just because the Sol player might've been mashing...?

Anyone know what Bedman's win quotes are?

Also, it seems Sol actually did the YRC neutral trick. Didn't seem to last long, though he still got a hit.

I am excited for the game. Will Dogura play Slayer? I was surprised to see him really going at it with Azrael. The announcement that Xrd was going live this month was like an early Valentine's Day birthday gift. Like those above, I hope this new game creates a resurgence in Guilty Gear hype, especially as someone who's only been playing the series 4-5 years. I'm gonna miss those XX Millia hips haha.

I'm curious if anyone is using those alternate button layouts? I was surprised that there was no layout similar to the original, but with the Dust button one to the left. My curent layout:

I don't think they're JAEPO exclusive, though I'm not sure. I do know that my SDTECHIN partner MarkMan will be getting some.

If someone is willing to go and buy me 2 Ky buttons and one of Sol. I would pay whatever is necessary, or I can sacrifice my left eye to you as a means of bartering. GG buttons would do me more good then both eyes without those GG push buttons.

It was so funny this girl I've been talking LITERALLY called me the moment GGXrd stuff started happening and I was stuck staring at my phone and my laptop for like 15 seconds choosing what to do.#GamerProblems

I decided to watch and put it on mute since I don't understand Japanese very well. The game looks about as fast as it's always been but yes, longer hitstun/blockstun this time around. It doesn't ruin the game just makes it kinda different. Smart move by ArcSys/Daisuke.

I think people exacerbated the whole RC pose thing, it didn't like like it was a problem. I just don't like the concept of a needless mechanic as Danger Time.

Also what's this about the old Grand Viper recovering in the air or being better? Something I didn't pick up on?

Dogura seems to be one of those few players that genuinely enjoy both games for what they are. Since I still see him playing both games and dominating people. I can't see him not playing Xrd, if anything will he be willing and able to dominating people still in BB with Xrd's release is a more accurate question.

Riot Stamp. Cuz of the second hit it has now (maybe?) It recovers in the air on block so you can get another hit in there possibly. Seem to recall guy in the video RCing the recovery too on one occasion unless I'm remembering wrong (on phone so can't check).

Oh I just can't read, my bad. And yeah it's actually cus the second follow up attack it makes Sol not safe on block, but allows him to follow up in an air combo if it hits. It also descends noticeably faster the further it goes, making it (I assume) harder to AA. it also looks like it does immense chip damage on lock when performed in DI too.

EDIT:

Rewatching the Xrd video again, thanks Kurushiii, I just realized Illyria has 2 stages. The Courtyard, Ky's official stage, and Illyria Downtown due to the presence of his servants/military. I wonder if this stage is supposed to go to someone or if it's just an added stage...

I also like the extra touch to Downtown with as the match goes on more people appear to watch and Ky's servants/guards appear as well over time. THIS GAME:yaaay:

@Faust players, Is Faust's bomb explosion smaller, or does it just look that way because because the game is widescreen now?

I thought there were supposed to be exclamation marks over characters when they perform 5d now? Am I blind?

The more I see Bedman the more I'm convinced he looks amazing. His sweep has sick range and is it just me or does his alarm clock super recover instantly (or very fast)? Kinda reminds me of I-no's Ultimate Fortissimo. Until Anji shows up I think he'll be my new dude. Can't wait for the specialists to show up!

Well, I can't really call myself a Faust player but I'm pretty sure it's the widescreen factor. I thought the same when I saw I-no's HCL, lol.

man... it might just be me but the one thing i really noticed about this video is that meter seems to build quite a bit faster in this game. for example at 1:42 in the video, lust shaker on hit builds about an extra 25% tension while at 2:19 it builds around 10% or more on block! No one ever seemed to be lacking meter despite using quite a bit of it.

i think this is really positive because now it seems like using a regular old RC to extend combos etc. becomes much more viable from a resource management perspective! hopefully this leads to some creative stuff.

Downtown was likely for faust, unless it goes to the eventual playable Sin :P

I highly doubt that, unless Faust is a resident of Illyria now. I'll put my money on Sin playable and that's his stage.

I think what they did with the guards and the crowds as the match drags on is going to make that my favorite Xrd stage.

exclamation marks appear when the opponent blocks wrong, just like bb and p4

That makes A LOT more sense. From what I understood in elven's posts was; that Xrd's 5d's were back to their original speed that had been universally nerfed in ACR, as such whenever a character performs 5d an exclamation appears over their heads to warn the blocking opponent an overhead is coming.
