i kind of dont mind the "first run" character thing it just provides extra incentive to get the game earlier, but we all know arcsys is going to go overboard with the DLC (i hope not though)

My incentive to get the game early is that I really want to play the game as soon as possible. Because the game looks good. The incentive should be that the product you want is a product that's worth wanting, not that they are holding a character hostage.
The first-order crap just pisses me off.
This is without even worrying about how bad this DLC management may become in the future. 

Give me a Sol sword lighter/keychain/whatever as a pre-order bonus and that'd make me actually somewhat happy to walk into a Gamestop for once.

You'd be surprised what people assume is truth from other people's gripes and whining versus what's actually in the game.  People can be gullible you know, I've had plenty of people message me on my blog based on worried assumptions they made from people's comments on THIS forum.

 

Also DLC is DLC, if you want it, get it, if you don't don't... it's your wallet, no one's twisting your arm.

 

If you don't want to pre-order the game that's up to you too.  I for one am totally on board, and will probably get the PS3 LE if it exists...

 

Also I'm not trying to rose-color the news, I just want people to appreciate the fact we're even GETTING a Guilty Gear after all these years, favorite characters confirmed or not.

The Xrd stick is out yo. Good news, it's PS3 and 4 compatible.

Right. So a person is gonna cancel their pre-order because a person with, what, like 35 posts on this forum really doesn't like a boob window on one character?

And as for the story, it's a FIGHTING game. I mean c'mon - are you really going to say me personally disliking the story modes in past GG games is going to dissuade some person who frequents non-casual FG forums from buying Xrd? Seriously?

I'm starting to think that she's gonna be a subtle parody of them. They are just trying so hard to make her look adorable. Regardless, she is cute as fuck and I like the idea of her playstyle so I'll probably pick her up when I play this game (it'll be my first GG)

My main gripe about DLC characters is that they make organizing tournaments a pain. Characters like Sin are even worse, since you actually can unlock them for free, but it requires time (or money for the unlock code, but why would you spend money on a free character?). Just make him unlocked by default, dammit!

 

I wish we still had hidden unlock codes in games.

I once came up with an idea for a fighting game which had a "Tournament Mode" that could be switched on and off from the options menu; it unlocked everything instantly but disabled saving (which doesn't matter for a tournament).

 

If you're going to have unlockable characters in a fighting game, at least have something like that.

That's awesome that the official XRD stick works for PS3 and 4. I will admit, I'm really surprised it works for both consoles, I thought it would be a Killer Instinct like situation.

What a strange stick. I like the button arrangement and how it at least looks similar to the Namco arrangement but I don't like the body. I think I'll wait for a Tekken 7 stick instead.

Fighting games shouldnt have female characters. They are weaker genre   If HnK 2 ever gets released, i hope mamiya is removed and its full male roster like it should be.

The site just states it's exclusive, i don't see anything LE. I think the package comes with 3 plate designs so you can change the stick art but i can't be certain. There's also a remark saying the design can still be subjected to changes.

I wonder how many active frames and how much hitstun the shotgun projectile will have?   That would be awesome to do some YRC setups like Milia from shotgun stance.  Or maybe something like shotgun projectile, RC, roll from shotgun stance to cross them up.

You can see that the first one on the left is the toggle for PS3 and PS4.  I do not know what the other toggle is next to it.  The small square buttons look like Options and Share.

To the far left, PS3/PS4 switch. Next to it Left/Right stick switch. The rest i can't read, but one of the buttons should be to change between the D-pad and the Sticks. R3/Start(options) change button. The ability to lock PS/Select(Share) button.

i especially want the stick because of how the buttons are stacked, perfect for the five button layout. thats a given though because the stick was pretty much taken out from the arcades.
