Synyster17 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 so ps3 and ps4 can play online together right? how does everything think this will work out? i know that vita/ ps3 wasn't the best lol. do people think that consoles will have a better time. i may honestly just get GGxrd for both consoles. if the cross netcode sucks which do you think people will most likely play on. i honestly think that people will play on the ps3 cause some might not want to move onto ps4 just for one game that is also on the ps3 but that is just an opinion which i am able to have cause this isn't a bb room this is a gg room
TheRealBobMan Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Unless there's some performance parity issues like PS4 having less input lag or PS3 experiencing slowdown or something, PS3 will probably be the standard for the majority of tournaments, with PS4 being pushed if ArcSys or Sony decide to sponsor a tournament in the US, which isn't likely to happen often (if at all). Evo might push PS4, but might not... I honestly have no idea, but it's big enough and has enough sponsorship that they could. Smaller tournaments that run off setups that participants bring aren't going to have PS4 as the standard anytime soon though. On that note, for the game to be able to have cross-console online play, the game should have 100% (or at least 99.99%) parity when it comes to performance, or it would be unfair. ArcSys might do silly things from time to time, but I'm pretty sure they care about the game being as fair as possible, so there would only be parity issues if they came up somewhat late in development and were really risky to fix... or at least I'd like to hope that. Online play will probably have plenty of people on PS3 (like the vast majority of current GG players), but PS4 has something like 7 million+ (I don't even know anymore) consoles out in the wild, and they're all sitting around waiting for a game that's worth playing. I bet there will be plenty of PS4 Xrd players, at least for the first few months until the people who don't want to commit a lot of time to getting good at a complicated fighting game stop playing. I'm really hoping the netcode comes out good, so we'll just have to wait and see. Honestly, it's going to be more of an issue getting quality internet service to make the best of the online play. The US really sucks when it comes to internet service.
The Magnet Technician Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Speaking of Karinchou, king, is he coming back to Ram anytime soon, or has he dropped her completely for Milia? Or is he just going to play both? We can agree on one thing though, Blade, I miss Machabo's Ky play as well, he was favorite one to watch in Xrd and AC+R. Hope he comes back someday as well, but apparently he just thinks Sol invalidates his existence. A set where Karinchu played against Nage using Ramlet popped up, so at least we know he's still using Ramlet.
Jocelot Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Oh, I always thought Karincho and Karinchu were two different players. My bad

The US really sucks when it comes to internet service. Times like this make me wish the U.S. had better infrastructure. Also, the fact that people will need to buy a stick for ps4 (or at least make it compatible with ps4) will keep plenty, like myself, ps3 a bit longer. Even when I get the ps4 I am still contemplating whether or not I get a TE2
RWA Announcer Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Even though I have no interest in playing Zato, I'd say he's my favorite player to watch as well, it just looks like he's stealing souls with his Zato play! As for Kazunoko, I haven't seen him play in awhile, since he's focusing on USF4 at the moment, but he said he wanted to make it his 3rd game alongside USF4 and UMVC3, since it's what got him into fighting games, even though I've also seen him play Ultimax and KOFXIII a fair bit lately as well. I appreciate the Ram input from some of you that have hands-on experience against her. I know Setplay naturally makes any character good, regardless of the game, It just seemed like Milia and Faust were doing better stat-wise, and Zato's glass ceiling is always going to keep him from running amok, so I just wondered if she REALLY was on their level, especially with Ogawa's "unstable" comment. But Karinchu makes her look even more obnoxious than Daiji does! I'm a Setplay/"Single Player Game" type of guy myself, but I understand that's not everybody's cup of tea. And her approach to it does seem a bit unique for the Guilty Gear series, even though, as I said, I'm not AS familiar with it as I am BB, so I could certainly see why you guys feel the way you do about her. I'm sure we'll get a rebalance at some point though.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Oh, I always thought Karincho and Karinchu were two different players. My bad Yare yare daze... Just teasing :p
youcanwonder Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Minimum height requirement. Probably not going to work. What you should test is if you can double jump out of backdash YRC. You should be able to, but it'd be important to know if backdash YRC doesn't have Jump Install. If you can't jump after it, you wouldn't be able to airdash, though like I mentioned earlier you're probably too low and the minimum airdash height requirement isn't being met anyway. The double airdash shouldn't matter, unless you're doing air backdash YRC airdash, which would work for characters with two airdashes. Also pretty sure that while Chipp gets 3 jumps, he only gets 1 airdash, unless that changed in Xrd? I will give that a try when i get home. I will keep ya posted. Sidenote: they should give badguy sidewinder back in this game...i just think it would look really cool lol
DaiAndOh Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 On the topic of best player, Ruu mentioned when he was in America that he thinks the best player right now is Woshige (this was pre new Ogawa content though. He thinks the main thing that puts Woshige as the best is that he has an amazing ground game with Millia on top of everything else.
king of heart Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Simply Best Kanto player is Ogawa and best Kansai player is Woshige.
Uncivilized Elk Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Since Xrd will have an English dub, though unlikely, I would love to have the ability to set voices as either dub on a character by character basis. If Jam ever comes out as DLC, for example, I would like to try her English dub, because the Japanese dub sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

Knowing Arc Sys games though, not very likely. Besides, who could guarantee that any of the English voices sound good?
ivanchu77 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Hopefully the story mode has japanese voices too and not only english voices (like they did with BBCP on vita or P4:Ultimax) , english voices make me cringe and would like to avoid them as much as possible

Uncivilized Elk Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Why not just get the Jap version then? Uh, in case you can't read Japanese? It is not an uncommon demand to have the Japanese voices for EVERYTHING. It's considered pretty standard until ArcSys' recent moves. If I had to choose I'd rather have no English dub whatsoever if they're going to restrict the Japanese dub to just in-fight phrases. Hell, for Xrd I'd think they'd offend more people with the partial Japanese dub stuff they are doing than from having no English dub.
Sanger Zonvolt Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Faust doesn't need a dub since his lines are English already. Going my way!?
BladeOfJustice7 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Overture you could listen to Japanese audio and read english subs. GG won't abandon its glorious Nipponjin roots. Also the animation for Split Ciel is so badass and anime as fuck, when Ky's outfit blows back with the wind and dust kicks up behind him.
SoWL Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Faust doesn't need a dub since his lines are English already. Going my way!? I feel that he has less English lines than most of the cast, actually. Just compare him to someone like Zato or Ky: GMW is pretty much his only English phrase.

MasterXDrake Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 ...but if it sounds better to them :V To be fair we haven't heard the english dub yet.

king of heart Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I-No in English would be nsfw. this week's Rion vs OSCA match was hilarious. -I-No: violate me more. -Ky: pray!
