ChexGuy Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Unless your definition of practicing is dicking around in training mode. dammit.
GundamSFS Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Well damn, I know that Sol don't have his Sidewinder and dust is kinda different in here...just can't help but wanting to get used to his playstyle
Mumm-Ra Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Also in the 4gamer wiki thing, doesn't it sayo anything about blitz shield and/or danger time and other mechanics? Because i'd love to know about blitz shield frame data.
Clousephinat Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 A couple random questions for the senpai here Curious what you've seen in the arcades for GGXRD as far as finger placement--do people typically use there thumb for P in standard layout or forefinger? Also, I picked up a copy of Reload on Steam and do you think I can start practicing Ky's basic combos from the wiki or are the basic ones GGXRD specific? Thanks. If you play with Ky, except for 2HS not being jump cancelable you have no problem to get full ready for Xrd, yeah.
Sourenga Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Also in the 4gamer wiki thing, doesn't it sayo anything about blitz shield and/or danger time and other mechanics? Because i'd love to know about blitz shield frame data. Some data about Blitz Shield is listed on this page close to the bottom... Unfortunately it has nothing important about Danger Time. Standing Blitz Effect duration: 1~12 Full duration: 38 Works against: overheads, aerials Crouching Blitz Effect duration: 1~10 Full duration: 46 Works against: low, overheads Aerial Blitz Effect duration: 1~8 Full duration: 12 frames after landing Works against: low, overheads, aerials
SoWL Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Huh, that system page also says that if you taunt the opponent after the KO, they get 50% Tension at the start of the next round.
Clousephinat Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Huh, that system page also says that if you taunt the opponent after the KO, they get 50% Tension at the start of the next round. Umm... It has always been that way.
greatfernman Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Also in the 4gamer wiki thing, doesn't it sayo anything about blitz shield and/or danger time and other mechanics? Because i'd love to know about blitz shield frame data. Kedako's data has more frame data on blitz shield if you're interested. Can't link it right now though, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.
SoWL Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Umm... It has always been that way. Ohkay, not surprised about that.
Mumm-Ra Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 So blitz shield is a legit 1f reversal move? Why don't I see it used as much, against ky's 6hs for example? Also crouching BS beats overheads? That can't be right, I believe I've seen dust beat it? Maybe because they're slow and come out after the active frames?
greatfernman Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 No crouching bs only counters lows and mids, standing counters highs and mids jumping counters all. Sourenga translated it incorrectly, 上 is mid ・中 is high・下 is low
Kaizen Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Sourenga's translation might be direct, because the 4gamer wiki lists mids as "high", and actual overheads as "mid", for some reason. Rest assured that Low Blitz Shield only beats lows and mids, not overheads.
SoWL Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 That's a common translation mistake, 中段攻撃 ("Mid attacks") are overheads, while 上段攻撃 ("High attacks") are mids.
Mumm-Ra Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Oh the mid-high thing again, thanks guys. But then it still goes active in frame 1? it has lots of recovery though, I guess.
DaiAndOh Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 It does. You can find reversal blitz shield in several matches. It's about risk vs reward. Spam it on wakeup? Guess wrong? Get counterhit and lose 25% meter each time...
greatfernman Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Also according to kedakos data on trigger it's only invul from frame 3, and invul runs out one frame before you gain back movement, so if you blitz a projectile you can presumably be meatied for a punish. This is from memory though I may be wrong
Tokkan Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 https://twitter.com/Kurushii/status/530042939385589761 Scans thanks to Kurushii. 64-player Online Lobby is just a hub area for Player Matches, there are doors to Player Rooms on it. It's still a separate mode from Player Match, confusingly. Online Training Mode confirmed BTW.

Coffeeling Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 That's a common translation mistake, 中段攻撃 ("Mid attacks") are overheads, while 上段攻撃 ("High attacks") are mids. O_o wtf
SoWL Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Online Training Mode confirmed BTW. Wasn't it confirmed, like, months ago? On a different scan?
LockedAndClush Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Japanese communities use the high-mid-low terms more like in 3D games. Mids are overheads, high are all block and low is... well, low.
king of heart Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Japanese communities use the high-mid-low terms more like in 3D games. Mids are overheads, high are all block and low is... well, low.I wish everyone were like this. Then I wouldn't have to explain the 3d mid for a 2d player or the opposite. Even though I live in Japan my kanji knowledge sucks lol. Does Sol say "The dumb Sin" when you pick Sin with Sol's system voice ?
SolxBaiken Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Does Sol say "The dumb Sin" when you pick Sin with Sol's system voice ? Yep, though a more organic translation would be "That idiot, Sin" [too bad I doubt they'll produce English versions of these] Looks like they're taking the system voices to a much greater level than what BB did, making all of the voices "in character". A nice novelty, but I doubt I'll be wasting money on that [maybe in the next installment if Baiken is announced].
