Isn't there pretty much full voice acting in the AC story mode? I mean, it's not much of a story, I guess, but....

Only think that separates the GG and BB story modes is the variety of portraits and presence of CG illustrations, what with ARC dabbling even further into the VN territory I don't see why they wouldn't, but Xrd can benefit further thanks to the new graphics engine and offer true cinematic presentation.

But yeah, let's reel it back a bit~

I'm sure there'll be a storymode on console release.

They've said multiple times they don't want to do a GG x BB, so no. They're not going to drop "hints" for a crossover they don't want in the anticipated new entry of the main series...

Personally i know this is rather stupid but i would love to see a Crossover charcter from another fighting make it into GG Xrd..i know it is so unlikely but Fila from Skullgirls would be perfect..

By the way is it likely we are going to see some new charcters in this game? Personally i would like to see what they do with Sin from GG2: Overture

I think it's pretty safe to say that we can expect some new characters. Seeing some people from overture would be cool, and maybe some brand new characters

If they do a story mode like BB, it would be cool if the characters did full animations when their mood changed. It would look way less visual novel-y.

Like, with the use of the models as the "portraits". You can do stuff like have their default stance playing while they talk, or play attack animations, reuse dizzy animations or weird hitstun animations to convey surprise etc too. That'd be kind of neat.

That's way ahead of what we have already though. Just something that would improve the story mode if they have one IMO.

Can't think of a game that has time slow, where it prevents blocking on reaction.

MVC3 :v:

There are no FRCs in the game at the moment, nor are there any confirmed FRCs planned to be added in.

I think he meant normal RCs?

I am pretty sure that he means that the YRC behaves like a getho RC.

Just tell me who That Man's 3rd henchman is [doesn't even HAVE to be playable] and I will be content = w=

What about "Live 2D" and games like the PS3 versions of White Album = w=

I completly agree but at the same time Story Modes with full animations would be costly

Nonono. They would just use the models, and talk. When they change expression, instead of just an sudden change, they would do an animation into the pose. This would require less hand drawn art and more animation instead. This holds the advantage of being able to use existing in game animations as a bonus. It also looks way less goofy as a consequence because people don't suddenly shift around like they do in Blazblue portraits.

Wasn't aware that it worked that way in MVC3. Wth. D:

Live 2D would require that they do a bunch of extra work instead of just using assets they already have on hand.

This would be pretty nice, actually.

Swing and a miss... I guess I'm not cut out for comedy...

Still little more than 5hrs till we can learn anything new and hope for a brave soul (with a shaky cam!)

Add SBX to that, when Kenshin slows you with his freeze abilities you can't block immediately.

I completely missed that, lol. M'bad!

On a related note, how many days is this particular loketest lasting for? Is it just the weekend?

Man, the more I learn.... :(

I do believe it ends the 12th.

Using the actual in-game models for story exchanges would be great actually, but I think someone at-loketest mentioned that at the moment at least, the characters seem to have untimed mouthflaps for all of their lines? Like, in that they don't seem to show particular expression or annunciation for their lines? Hopefully that's just for this test, but I hope they'll have fully animated faces for that reason. I can't imagine they'd not, after all this work- is there something about rigging a face that might be too difficult or interfere with the look they're trying to get?

The characters were using the old VOs as placeholders, so naturally the new animations would be timed for the new but incomplete VO work or be placeholder mouthflaps.

Add that we already saw the characters having better facial expressions and better timing on their mouth during the trailer, so is safe to assume that for the purpose of this local test that stuff was not finished yet

My thing is this regarding Story Mode... AC+ and GG2 Story mode was mostly talking heads and pictures of people's heads with running and stopping and running again.

We need something slightly better than Overture at the very least. Dramatic Camera Angles or something.

Hey, I'm not exactly talking MK9's story mode quality, but it can be done with 3D stuff more dramatically.

Dragon Install Sol.

Looking back on DI Sol, if you notice his sword becomes a plain black slab of metal. But the "jacket" he's wearing while in DI, looks a lot like the "armor" on his sword. I think the sword represses somewhat his gear powers, if not enhances them in different ways while allowing him to keep his rationality, if you all remember, Sol's Gear DNA is that of a dragon. And he's always had wings.

Just my observations, I REALLY wanna see what Tyrant Rave ver. B looks like in DI though :D

Does he stay in DI for a set amount of time now like Ragna's BK? Or can he be knocked out of it like in AC? What are the buffs he gets in DI btw besides #TyrantCannon?

Posted (edited)

Since Sol's DI doesn't have a tail or wings or a sword of fire like it did in Overture, I'm guessing he's repressed his powers a bit more since then.

Then again, he was up against "That Man" that time, too, so he might've made an exception.

Other things I noticed:

--He doesn't have 5 eyes or a central eye anymore like the Gear Mark shape.

--His "jacket" has a chain on it, so it might be as you say about it being some kind of additional limiter.

--I should also mention there's a lava vein running down the arms of the jacket, so it's somehow connected to his body like a circuit I believe.

--Also, the Laser Beam Tyrant Rave is probably a nod to the GGXtra Manga.
