Can you use different colors for the chars in the demo? If so how many colors?

6 for Sol and Ky, one default and 5 others. Hoping for more colors in-full-game sometime soon.

The main limitation to IK combos is that the opponent has to be in Hell Fire, and they enter Hell Fire at a much lower life percentage when in the middle of a current combo. As such, it's tough to perform an activation and still land the IK near the end of a longer combo, where you're running out of untechable time. Plus you have to still have 50% Tension available to get the screen freeze when activating during Hell Fire. These requirements altogether reduce the practicality of IK combos.

Now if your opponent is already in Hell Fire when you start, that's a different story.

Unless you're a supreme ass like Ain is. Watch the sets of him vs the world on jourdal's channel. He IK'd this one Sol player so many times I felt really sorry for him.

On another note, so we actually will be getting the game that late from amazon? Is there anyway of preordering the game to get it on time? I ain't tryna wait till january.

I'm still seeing December 16th on my order. Of course, maybe I'll get an email stating otherwise later.

For those who played in arcade, is there any way to select the same character colors? One of my favorite classic Sol colors is stuck in that spot, wish I could pick it. >=|

That ps4 hori hayabusa stick was supposed to be out 22th october. Pre-ordered from Amazon and got email later on that they don't know yet when they can start shipping those sticks. So I wouldn't guarantee you get your copy of XRD @release.

Do you need match point to IK combo? I was under the assumption you don't since the other conditions are super restrictive and it seems like most of the time you could do any other BnB and end the round with it.

What's the deal again with activating IK state outside of hellfire? Is the IK animation different for the connecting move or is it just a lot slower?

If the conditions aren't met, there's no time stop during the super freeze for IK mode.  So... you can still go into IK mode if you want, but you leave yourself vulnerable like before.  You could probably come up with some "relatively safe" setups if you RC a move that normally causes untech into knockdown anyway, but it's not the same as having time stop for 60-100 frames while you enter IK mode.

It looks like most IKs have some invul on them now, and I think Burst is locked once the screen flashes prior to the actual attack animation starting just like with Overdrives.

During E3 I remember IKing through several moves with I-No, including one instance of doing IK on reaction to Dandy Step just to see if the guy would hit a button, and he Crosswise Heeled right into it and died.

The tourney is taking place over 2 days, 1 day for qualifying and the next for finals. I personally don't think there will be a stream for the qualifying rounds. There are like over 24 teams and a SF highlight is happening at the same time at the main stage area.

Finals are probably getting streamed but it's only between the last 2 teams, i don't know if there's much to see :/

yo, over 24 teams :thumbu:  guess would b pretty cool if more than just finals gets streamed :keke:

Okay so to do IK Super Freeze it's got to be this way:

  • Match point
  • 50 tension or more
  • Opponent needs to be in hellfire state

For hellfire to occur the character needs to have 20% or under hp (approx?), but you can combo them from over 21% hp, and if they reach 10% hp they go into hellfire status and the above rules apply?

Are we sure on the match point requirement, cause I could have sworn I saw an IK combo that wasn't on match point.

I'm unsure of the match point requirement, but I watched ain vs the world a few hours ago and the super freezes IKs were made during match point... Somebody please confirm what I posted :)

Bah, should've been like in gg1, getting hit by it ends the match :p

Id love to see that win a grand finals

you can actually use them in a real match.

Stun/dizzy -> IK gets the job done.

Not sure about Xrd, since Xrd's stun seem to dissapear ridiculously fast.

Seems like their intent was to make IKs more like Astrals this time around, as in, you can actually use them in a real match.

I ain't even mad about that lol.

Does it really? Wasn't aware of that.

So you can combo into IKs outside of hellfire, you just need to take the risk of activating IK state and scoring the hit confirm on your opponent afterward?
Because in Xrd there wasn't a way to combo into IK.

This seems like it makes it fairly easy to troll players much worse than you, haha.

There is going to be a 3v3 Xrd console tourney at Singapore's Game Start Asia.  Playstation is supplying the PS4s and Madcatz is bringing the TE2s.  I really hope we get more gameplay footage of Sin and El.  Does anyone know if Tough Cookie TV will be streaming this

I hope we get some Sins and Elph's aswell.

Also great news, Mike Z and team are working on controller/stick backwards compatibility software for next gen consoles. Which they currently planing to allow other devs to use for free.

I'm pretty sure that big companies in the fighting genre like ASW or Capcom have a lot of pressure from Stick manufactures, I don't think they will use this.

Main site refreshed, interesting how to see that AC story is not taken in consideration

http://ggxrd.com/cs/story.html

Anyway, I don't understand the problem in the cover. It is quite known that different country have different standard in what can be shown and it is taboo and what's not.

In America is everything related to sex and the female body, in Japan, for example, is the dismembering of the body.

More than that, was it really an issue to begin with? Geez

Talking about shipping, I ordered from amazon the ps4 with fast shippoing, and the expected delivery is signed from 18 to 22 Dec to Europe... That doesn't seems bad, since it will be christmas period. I fear the japanese LE will take at least 2/3 weeks, allining with christmas and probably arriving a month later...
