Danaiden Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) He sounds not bad judging from the few lines and Jack-O's voice resembles May's quite a lot. High-pitched and a little bit childish. Still curious if they chose to give Johnny a new English voice actor since Liam O'Brian is already voicing two other major characters.A little bit disappointed that nearly every voice phrase is the same. Is it normal that they not change the majority of them in it if the game is not on a new console generation, unlike BlazBlue? Maybe I am jumping the gun here and they only sound similar.EDIT: Here you can hear Johnny and Jack-O' in action.Johnny: Jack-O' (Childish voice): Edited August 24, 2015 by Danaiden Added videos
ChexGuy Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Jack-O' also has her older sounding voice. I think she has separate voice sets, like how Platinum has voice sets for both Sena and Luna.
Tsuki Garyuu Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Still curious if they chose to give Johnny a new English voice actor since Liam O'Brian is already voicing two other major characters.God, I hope he gets a new VA. Axl is probably up his ally, but Johnny is Liam being phoned in for a relatively small role. There are still other people for this kind of character if you can just drag them out of Texas. Yes, I am still not letting Ian Sinclair go. lol
Blade Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I'll be honest, Jack-O' sounds like a total brat. She's like the female equivalent of Troll-Hazama or something. And I abso*******LUTELY can't wait to get cornered by her mini-servants and their constant pressure that keeps you crouching and never jumping. >_>

SoWL Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Screenshot from REVELATOR staff rollThe new old man character, Kum Hahyon is voiced by Hideaki Tezuka.Weird that they've only listed his male voice (unless his female self talks like an old man, as well?).
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Hey English Azrael fans! Look what I have for yoooou~
The Badgerine Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Oh my stars in heaven, DC Douglas is too good at what he does.
Danaiden Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Weird that they've only listed his male voice (unless his female self talks like an old man, as well?).They likely didn't listen her because they do not want to spoil the audience the secret behind him. They did the same thing in BlazBlue Alter Memory (and I think in Calamity trigger too) with Hakumen, so that the viewers don't associate him with Jin.
Vulcan422 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I think I may have finally found who Sol's English voice actor is: Jack Calabrisi.I was watching some English footage of SF5 and realized that Charlie Nash's VA sounds very similar to Sol in several lines of dialogue. Apparently he also played Lars in SFxT.
The Badgerine Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Had a listen to some Nash and some Lars, and I think that just might be plausible.
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Okay, where's the English footage of SF5?
Danaiden Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) Okay, where's the English footage of SF5?Here is one match with him:Especially his grunts when he performs normal attacks and his "It can't be over!" when he is defeated are very close to Sol's. Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Yeah I heard the death cry and I'm about...70% in belief that it's Sol. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Tenj|n Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I'm convinced. His "Go to Sleep" at 6:26 is Sol's.
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 While we're still on Xrd, placing my bets on Melissa Fahn to be Jack-O.
Blade Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I'm not quite convinced just yet.Neither am I. I can say with 100% Certainty Sol's English VA was in Lightning Returns, and Jack Calabrisi was not on the Casting List of that game. Unless "Jack Calabrisi" is an alias? Is SFV considered a high profile game?
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Should be. I remember there always being English VA credits in SFIV.
werewolfgold Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) Should be. I remember there always being English VA credits in SFIV.That did not stop some of the actors from using aliases.Neither am I. I can say with 100% Certainty Sol's English VA was in Lightning Returns, and Jack Calabrisi was not on the Casting List of that game. Unless "Jack Calabrisi" is an alias? Is SFV considered a high profile game?Karen Strassman was left out of the credits of MKX for some reason, yet she voices frickin' Kitana AND Mileena. So, you never know.If Calabrisi is just an alias, then that's just going to screw things up even more. Edited September 16, 2015 by werewolfgold
Tokkan Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 People get left out of the credits for pretty much the same reason they take up aliases.
Blade Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Honestly I'd be more convinced if I heard more of "Jack Calabrisi's" roles besides Lars and Nash.
SoWL Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 Apparently, Platinum now has two different victory voice tracks against characters, one for Sena and one for Luna. Not sure if it's true for the entire cast, but nonetheless, it's pretty cool.
Master Of Chaos Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Hasn't that always been the case though? Unless I'm misreading what you're saying.
