Alright. I know I'm late or whatever, but who cares. I just got up with the news and Adachi making an appearance is really suprising and hype at the same time, and Sho looks to be a really fun character. Too bad we don't get to see a full glimpse of his Persona, but I wonder if he'll be non Persona heavy like Akihiko.

I can't wait to see more Sho footage, but it's going to take quite awhile before he makes his full arcade debut. Narukami vs Sho - a single blade vs a duel wielder. This is going to be awesome.

Of course there is a version of him with his Persona, and a version without. But the version with his Persona has 4 cards, so he should put it out regularly.

Two things:

1. It's possible that the Sho without his Persona is arcade-mode only, in the same way that Labrys had a non-Persona form in P4U's arcade.

2. Those of you who played Persona 4, what was Adachi's motivation for being the villain? Wasn't he being manipulated? Or was he just axe-crazy? I'm curious to see if he'll remain an antagonist this time around, or if there's some way he might turn over a new leaf and end up being an ally.

Yeah, I'm not too sure there will actually be two playable versions of Sho given that Labrys also had a non-Persona version in the arcade before.

Also, Adachi's motivation is that he wants to punish other people and thinks the world is full of shit. He does because he can.

Some P4G scenes implied that he might have regretted what he did, but I doubt those will be taken into account as he appears like a straight up villain here.

A bit of both, he just discovered the midnight channel by accident and started doing his stuff, but also he was a bit manipulated by the real finals boss

He was bored in the sticks. And I think in the true ending of the game he seemed more calm. (At least I assume he was)

He was bored. I guess you could say he was crazy.

He didn't discover the Midnight Channel on purpose though. After he got the power to put people in the TV, he just did it for fun. He was manipulated one time during the "final battle."

I bet this is a fake Adachi and the culprit really is Sho Minazuki.

Especially at the end of P4G Dojima even said that he's such a model prisoner. I think that sums up that he's trying to move in the right direction again.

Yup. I can remember some things about Adachi saying that the world only likes ones born with 'The Magic Ticket' and that Adachi also got treated badly some time in the past. So he tried to turn the world into shadows thinking that it's better if we don't experience those things instead, and everyone understands each other and some other BS. So he got stomped.

Once again, Akihiko is left out. I didn't see Shadow Akihiko in that stream, but I saw Shadow Mitsuru and Shadow Aigis. Oh, and Sho's SP skill looked AWESOME, probably a counter but still cool.

Like I said about Yukari, does anybody think that Sho's sprite animations can be smoothed a little?

I agree. Where I don't quite think Sho is THE villain, I don't think Adachi is either. It would be some Shadow. It would be Shadow Adachi. It would be Malevolent Entity.

Real question is how Adachi got out of jail, unless as you said, he's not the real adachi.

It could be the real Adachi. Because if you've played P3 and come to know the story, in the Dark Hour only those who have the "potential" can move in that said "Hour". Adachi has that "potential" hence why he's able to move around in an Inaba that's strangely "deserted", and whoever is behind this is trying to bring back Taratus so that pretty much supports this.

That's one possibility. Another is that since the Midnight Channel and Dark Hour now appearing in Inaba (with their own version of Tartarus), it is possible that Adachi's own powers returned and he busted himself out. Of course, this is all purely speculation so best answer is that "we have an "Adachi" going around during this incident". I find it fun how he seems to know Yukari as "Feather Beak" though.

My theory is that Adachi was put inside a room with a TV and when inside it. Since Yosuke told Teddie to leave the exit portal open all the time now, Adachi found it and went through when no one was around. It sounds stupid but you never know.

About Sho, is it possible that Persona-less Sho and Persona'ed Sho are the same playable character? Perhaps he has some special mechanic, like "Persona Install" that he has to use in order to use his Persona?

Posted

That first Sho was most likely boss Sho like with Labrys in arcade mode, then gets persona etc etc.

His Persona design is actually pretty cool, I think his overall design is a "British" theme imo.

Keep in mind that the two Shos have different character select artwork from eachother. So yeah, I doubt it.

Well according to some posters on other forums, there's claim that a woman (possibly Teddie's seiyuu) covered up a character announcement during the livestream. Can anyone here confirm this is the case?

I really cannot tell. There was this one woman before they got to the announcements but she didn't seem to tell us anything. They did have a talkshow after the livestream though (or so I've heard) so maybe that had something on it.

Teddie's CV is male, I think you're mistaking him for Monobear :v: But yeah, there was an old woman on the stream, though I have no idea whether she's voicing anyone or not.

Oh, so it DID happen after all? Heh, knowing ATLUS it's there to stir expectations for the hype machine. Well, can't say it ISN'T working though :kitty:. Thanks for the confirmations.

Sweet Adachi back! Assuming he is playable (Would be stupid if they teased him at the end and he wasn't -_-...he isn't like Rise.. he can actually fight) so here are some quick predications

Story wise: Adachi would have the "potential" like the other P3/P4 cast to wander during the sudden Dark Hour happening (he technically has a persona) so it would make sense that he left the suddenly deserted jail. I heavily doubt he is the mastermind of this whole thing considering he was a pawn in the end. I doubt he is even as bad as before. He seemed to turn a new leaf ever since he went to jail especially in the P4G specific scenes. He is probably Anti-Hero material now. His arcana would be the Hunger/Lust.

Gameplay wise: His persona Magatsu-Izanagi looks similar to Narukami Izanagi, but that is it. His Persona is chaotic while Izanagi is about order so I can see some heavy damage or speed potential with him. I can see status inflicting alignments like Fear/Silence/Paralysis with his tools. Adachi himself would most likely use his pistol again, but of course would use it differently compared to Naoto. He would probably have less health compared to Narukami, but the same amount of Persona cards.

JYB will probably still voice Adachi in the dub despite voicing Yu as well if you seen the P4 Anime. He makes his Adachi voice sound much more sinister (Compare it to his Izaya) while Yu sounds more righteous (compare it to his Ichigo).

Posted

I don't have anything against JYB, but a part of me would rather have someone else voicing Adachi instead of having Bosch basically pinching his nose like in P4:The Animation. It's a bit of a shame that his characters almost all sound the same because he's a legitimately talented voice actor otherwise.

Not that you mention, I'm especially curious about how his non-persona moves will look. There's only so much variety you can have from a pistol and I'm having a hard time figuring how he could deviate from Naoto's playstyle.
