LaowPing Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Kind of a weird place for that question Sent from my ZTE-X500 using Tapatalk 2
someonewhodied Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Biggest pet peeve is the overall reduction of hitstop on my jump cancellable moves. Makes my burst OS really hard on netplay.
StylisH Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 What the hell is up with Valk's 5A? I swear, this move would whiff on standing Tager at point blank range. I just blocked Gauntlet Hades and mashed 5A to punish it. (Not sure how punishable it is in EX, so I figured I'd go with Valk's fastest move just to be sure) All 3 hits whiffed. They clearly went straight through Rags' face, but none of them actually hit. God, this move is bad. Uh, you should be using 2A. Just saying......
Icekin Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 105 pages long, someone probably already said this (in fact, it might have been me), but good players who should know better intentionally doing netplay shit. Wakeup 2A, wakeup random ass special with 11 frames startup, mashing buttons when you're minus a million. Really? I mean, for a new player, fine. He doesn't know better, he's confused, whatever. But some people are clearly past that point, but hey it's two bars so let's push buttons! I guess it's my fault in the end. I could just stick to 3-4 bars and bear the wait, but sometimes I'll forget how dumb it gets below that, and give it another shot. Fool me once, etc.

BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I'm starting to really notice how much people abuse overheads online. I've recently gotten to the point where I'm starting to feel them coming and so many people are thirsty for that mixup haha. Like calm the fuck down, you don't need to open the opponent up every blockstring. Sometimes its good to play neutral.
LaowPing Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 You just now noticing? There was an awesome joke a few pages back about how Americans can't block overheads. And going for mix ups often is important. Standard pressure doesn't get you very far when so many people have DPs
susano Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 My Lambda being bootie cheeks still. Took a small break so I'm going to come back today. Still, when a Terumi bodies me and I'm still getting used to changes, it makes me wonder why I came back to BB.

Standard pressure doesn't get you very far when so many people have DPs Like Mac said, having a DP kinda makes it harder to mixup period. :V Which is why I don't know why people go for the mixup all of the time and the same one at that, like after the second time, I'm just gonna either DP the fuck outta you or mash 5A/2A. Like I said, don't be afraid to play neutral
mAc Chaos Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 if youre getting DPd all the time your problem is your pressure not your mixup
Angry Guy of DE Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Playing this game before the US release and praying that you can get at least 2 Bar connections from somebody nearby. By the time it gets US release most people don't want to play you because you've already adjusted while they still want to burst out of blockstun...
LaowPing Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 It is harder to mix them up but it's even harder to pressure. My main way of dealing with DPs is to bait on wake up and mix up early. If you do nothing but pressure your just waiting for then to DP you, so spend as little time on then as possible. Playing neutral is a good option but it depends on the match up. You don't want to go back to neutral against a Jin.

You don't want to go back to neutral against a Jin. Or...you can just end your pressure early and wait to see what the opponent does. If you got them conditioned not to DP, then you can go ahead and pressure them and that leaves them open for the mixup. RPS son. Then again, you're probably on netplay and nobody really gives a fuck about any of that and people just DP without rhyme or reason; in which case, follow this helpful Ken Ragna flowchart: Just replace Jumping HK with J.C and Hadouken with 5B. You'll find your Ragna winrate to increase exponentially :V
LaowPing Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 That was the most interesting thing I've seen in a while. But yeah, most of my experience comes from fighting people who don't mash things. During the rare instances I do I either frame trap or jump and bait mid pressure. Most people I fight wait for pressure resets before they do anything.

If you're just running face first into them all the time then of course you'll get DP'd, but that just means the pressure is weak.

The problem comes with YOLO players that really don't give a fuck about anything other than doing 623X anytime, for them it doesn't matter if they're scared or not, just YOLO DP 'cause fuck you.

This isn't really a problem. If you can COUNT on people going DP all the time, you don't even NEED to do mixup or pressure.
Myoro Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 If you're looking for an easy answer, play Nu. She doesn't often put herself in situations where she can be DP'd with most of her mix-up options now being mid~far range. learn how to keep them out of that range and bully them, and at that point you only need to call out the most yolo of DP-ers, who use the things as pokes or counterpokes.
Fame96 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 You know what really grinds my gears? Getting the entire buffet of the ragna netplay special. -.-

Nemesis Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Heres a pet peeve unique to CP EX -the FUCKING system mechanic where if one person doesnt ready up for the fight - it skips them BOTH - its a real dick move to exploit as well and NO ONE respects it either - ppl will just ready up on your turn cause you got fucked by some lil faggot who is off taking a dump or wants to fuck you over
Angry Guy of DE Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 When you are having a good match with a person and then they go straight to netplay tactics that work because of delay. Also Jins in general.
