Poultrygeist Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 did you lose lmao also I think stylish is allowed in tournaments idk I've never felt inclined to check Either way in the arcades you can have a card (auto playing ranked) and still use stylish Soooo Unless something's changed yeah stylish is legal. IIRC Brett entered Evo last year with Stylish Kagura. My petpeeve for netplay is when I'm playing against someone and they will change characters like every 2 matches. How are people supposed to learn matchups if you can't get the practice? Honestly, how many people that play the whole cast do you know of that are good enough that you can learn matchups from fighting their characters? I'm sure they're out there but there can't be that many of them. There is this dude streaming on Xbox One who only uses stylish in all of his matches and HE HAS A FIGHT STICK and acts like he's really good at the game. I played him 4 times beat him 3 and lost to him once. I didn't know he was streaming until I went on twitch and saw him playing. That irks me soooo much. Why on God's green earth would you play stylish with a fightstick..... On that note, people who stream themselves netplaying when their internet clearly isn't built for it. Especially if they get salty at lag afterwards.
mAceOfHearts Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Unless something's changed yeah stylish is legal. IIRC Brett entered Evo last year with Stylish Kagura. Stylish Kagura played with one hand, even. There's a match on YouTube of him beating an Azrael player like this.
Henjin Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Stylish Kagura played with one hand, even. There's a match on YouTube of him beating an Azrael player like this. I literally just played a set with someone who would switch character after every single match. Their "nickname" on their player card was "User of All" and their quote at the bottom said "use every character". None of these matches were particularly great, I think I went 5-2 or something like that with my Ragna. (Won against Kokonoe, Hazama, Terumi, Celica, Nu, possibly more. Lost against Arakune and Litchi) Probs for being dedicated to a cause, but I question whether or not that cause is worth being dedicated to. I pick damned there half the cast last time I was online. I was still new to the changes of bbcpex, but still happened to hold my own. It was fun for me cause ppl didn't know weather or not if I knew the characters I was picking.
Zyed Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Why the hell is beginner mode, fuck giving people an ego boost calling it "stylish", allowed in ranked? Just ran into a guy with nearly 200 matches and 0 losses using beginner Kagura with his ridiculous one-button DP. that guys name is ryui he quits when he loses, which is why he has 200 wins and 0 losses

pokemonblaze234 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 If we are talking about people that use the whole cast badly, then i'm calling out ILikeThought also known as ISuicidal_Panda ChloeJP and Its_ThatOneGirl idk if she has any new alts doe :V There is this dude streaming on Xbox One who only uses stylish in all of his matches and HE HAS A FIGHT STICK and acts like he's really good at the game. Why on God's green earth would you play stylish with a fightstick..... When i used to play stylish kag, i played him on stick. tbh, One of the reasons i wanted a stick was to play him with one hand, but i never got to learning him with one hand, sadly, lol
skd Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Well, my pet peeve is people who think they know how to play blazblue, but really only know how to mash in delay Kappa not kappa
greatfernman Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Well, my pet peeve is people who think they know how to play blazblue, but really only know how to mash in delay Kappa not kappa yoo calm down b
Dark__Divider Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 That was me, Hearts, although I pick every character for fun rather than to prove a point like some may think I do. Hope that isn't a problem :/
NecroTheReaper Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I wanna know why arcsys hasnt incorporated hitbox viewers into their games. If things are gonna have MASSIVELY absurd hitboxes (both good and bad) I'd like to know before I fall victim to netplay.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Well, my pet peeve is people who think they know how to play blazblue, but really only know how to mash in delay Kappa not kappa Savaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage

Angry Guy of DE Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 When people message me after a match to ask questions and advice. ... Wait no that fills me with a nice feeling that there's people that want to improve and get better.
Henjin Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Oh boy do i hate it when ppl msg me saying why do i/we play like that (using gimmics and good mix ups) and then say we take the fun out of the game. Tryied to explain to him how he could get better, but had the nerve to say he has a family and dont have time for that because there are more important things in life... but he is online... and complaining because he has a life. Life or not, just how you have TIME to play online, you have TIME to practice. Dont give me a lame excuse of why youre not good and blame us for it.

Wow, that is pretty sad, complaining about things you can train yourself to see coming and avoid :/ Did he complain about any moves in particular, or just in general?
mAc Chaos Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 That's like saying you want to enter a body building competition without getting in shape. He just doesn't actually want to play the game.
mAceOfHearts Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 That was me, Hearts, although I pick every character for fun rather than to prove a point like some may think I do. Hope that isn't a problem :/ If you're just doing it for fun, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I mean, that's literally the only reason to play this game, or any game, if you're not doing it profesionally or as a job. To have fun.
Henjin Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Wow, that is pretty sad, complaining about things you can train yourself to see coming and avoid :/ Did he complain about any moves in particular, or just in general? In general. I never even fought the guy. He just saw me play.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 The contradiction of netplayers is that they wanna win

To play a bit of devil's advocate, there are people who I won't play specifically because of how they play. Turtles and someone who is going to spend 95% of their time upbacking bore me to death, and I will spend extra time finding someone I enjoy playing against more. Granted, I usually don't send messages about it though.
pokemonblaze234 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I want to know why people play ranked to fraud your way to pink
Dark Ranger88 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 To play a bit of devil's advocate, there are people who I won't play specifically because of how they play. Granted, I usually don't send messages about it though. Not talking about you Raziul, but I've had people send me messages along those lines. I've had people complain about me "running away too much." They have obviously never played Makoto before. If I don't dodge everyone's massive pokes my options are: get hit/block, or do something very unsafe (3C / jump at you / etc). A lot of the times Makoto's best strategy is to IAD back, backdash, or walk backwards, then dash in when your opponent whiffs something. Plus I'm playing for my own entertainment and to win...not to entertain you.
