Errol Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 if you played before CP it's just going back.
BloodWolF Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 In a sense. I'm not really worried about it and am kind of looking forward to the options given to Nu. I really enjoyed the mode switch and freedom it gave, but it is what it is. I found this iteration to be the most enjoyable out of all of them, but the amount of tools given to Nu in the new version has me very interested...and in all honesty, there's nothing they could really do to her that would make me switch. They could replace her swords with sticks and I would still spend my days throwing twigs at everyone I could.
StylisH Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Well when things get hit they should take damage. But idk about Izayoi. I mean true her gameplan is surprisingly similar to Ara in they they play passive until they both have the resources to ruin people, but the way that's done is different. Izayoi doesn't have damage like Arakune, but she has a mixup gameplan reminiscent of I-No (albeit worse but that is team blue's fault for making a shitty character,) I and I like her for it. I do worry about the two new characters though, because although I like Celica, she just looks so lame to play. Like they went Carl = hard, Relius = not hard, Celica = if Relius was too hard to play. And what they did to Nu's playstyle because of Lambda being a "new character" in CP just pisses me off, from a design standpoint. I just want Izayoi to have notes and Chemical Love mixup/pressure. Please ArcSys?
Daramue Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 if you played before CP it's just going back. It's true, but I enjoyed the varied playstyle of stance Nu. I'm not going to be so dramatic as to say "I can't go back now" but I would be a liar if I said I wouldn't miss it and if I said I didn't prefer it to vanilla Nu. I will miss 22A pressure mixups and Luna mode command parsers, along with Luna 236D. It's really going back to CT Nu rather than Lambda. Bloodwolf hit it right on the mark in regards to my thoughts. This has been my favorite version of Nu thus far but I'd never abandon the character. There is also something to be said about 2.0 not even being playable yet - it's possible it will come out and I'll enjoy Nu even more in 2.0 than 1.0/1.1, although I'm a bit skeptical. Backwards air parser looks interesting.
Errol Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 It's hard for me to say about Nu because 90% of you were bitching when CP came out and 90% of you are bitching that it's going to be removed. It's certainly some lost effort but I think it's probably better to have Nu and Lambda. EX lambda was a good bit better than CP Nu too I think.
Daramue Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 There certainly was a lot of complaining at release, although I was not one of them. Can't speak for anyone else, although your generalization is accurate. The only thing that is certain is that people clearly want different roles and playstyles from Nu.
StylisH Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 People will complain either way. Then they'll complain about the other complainers for the sake of complaining.
D.R.F. Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Tbh, "Nu's combos are hard as F***!!!!" sounds quite familiar...
BloodWolF Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I agree that about 90% of what I've seen in our forums is complaints regarding 2.0. I was very excited about CP as I got to play both characters at once. People will ALWAYS find a reason to bitch. If you don't like the new character, don't play it...though this can be said about just about any topic.
Luminos564 Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 On the subject of adding more characters, I honestly don't know where I stand. On the one hand, more characters adds diversity and it's especially fun when they add the one character you were hoping for. Look no further than Kokonoe in that regard. Gamebreaker though she was in CP1.0, she nonetheless saw so much hype back when she was announced, this whole forum was blazing with activity. But on the other hand, I do understand that with more and more characters, it gets harder and harder to achieve good balance. I am currently forced to switch mains in P4AU from Lizzie to most likely Margaret not because I like the latter more (well in some aspects I do), but because I'm going to have less of a headache fighting people as her rather than with Lizzie. All because the balance in the game dictated that my favorite character has to suck. However, this seems to only apply to that game as for BBCP I no longer have a steady main. I ditched Haku-men for Terumi during the initial weeks only to go play Azrael later and come CP2.0, I'll likely be making the switch to Celica or something (unless I hit some kind of epiphany with Azrael), so in that regard I am excited. I suppose the point that I am trying laboriously to get to is that there is no real reason why adding more characters to the roster is a bad thing in and of itself. Used properly, you can have a character for virtually anybody. Used incorrectly though (adding characters just for the sake of adding someone new) and you're just asking to strap the balance to an anvil and drop it from the top of the Empire State building.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I kind of have to agree with the above, as much as I love playing this game, I don't know over half of the matchups in it. It's rather grating when I can barely find anyone who plays characters like Carl, Relius, or Litchi and I'm stuck asking "How the fuck do I play".
Myoro Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 What the fuck are you guys even talking about. Balance. One of the many facets of gameplay, which I understand to be half of what is discussed here if the topic name is any indicator. '~' More specifically some people take issue with the dev's balance decisions, whereas others of us are pretty okay with them because as seemingly random as they are, they seem to be working for the better recently. Discussion of the difference of opinion ensues. Also BB's progression from EX to CP1 to CP1.1, and the mystery that is CP2.0. I kind of have to agree with the above, as much as I love playing this game, I don't know over half of the matchups in it. BlackYakuzu94 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 *Wink wink* *nudge nudge* :D *Looks at sig* That's mean bro D: Beside, I won't be in the mood for this game until 2.0.
Ziggy_Stardust Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Eh, Blazblue isn't horribly unbalanced, but it has it's faults. Really though, the roster isn't THAT big. You just gotta find somebody to practice with if you wanna learn a matchup. Don't pick Myoro though, he'll turn your hope and ambition into tears and despair.
Zedar90 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 A PV for 2.0 have been uploaded. That is a new music track right? I don't remember hearing it before.
Luminos564 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 A PV for 2.0 have been uploaded. That is a new music track right? I don't remember hearing it before. Very nice. Say what you will about BB as a whole, but the soundtrack always gets me in the mood to play or punch an angry grizzly bear square in the jaw. And you're talking about track that starts at the 0:35 mark? Yeah, I'm pretty certain that it's new.
Myoro Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Things Myoro noticed. Haku has a new ink-like graphic on his 623A~A. Wonder if 41236C and j.214C will get inked... OD Vinum is glimpsed, might have hitbox buff. Excitement intensifies. Gearing up to do the buffs equivalent of a snow dance. Izzy did her drop move (j.236C~D?) into her 236B/236C follow-up. They keep giving her combo tech, which isn't really what she needs to be a solid character is it? Litchi's staff looks quicker. Seems like it's gonna be a nerf to pressure IMO. C Bug still crushes guard and dreams. Save that barrier fellas. Tager still has that weird drag on 6A. Looks to be edging out Terumi for his stomp monopoly. Az can still do 214B catch projectile>Immediate 236B. Henceforth will be known as the "Hot Potato" Kokonoe was dropped from the cast Ridley will be playable Edit: Carl's OD 632146C looks to be 3 spikey gears that cover about the same range. Arakune's OD Bees have spiked abdomens which clearly indicates more suffering. Edit Edit: I could be a very delusional Myoro, but it looks like Ignis follows more closely behind us and 214B could be faster. I'm prolly wrong about the range thing, though strangely enough, the gears look no different than normal.
Monarch Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 It's hard to tell but, to me, it looks like Mu's Ikutachi has a weird float now.
TD Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 One thing to note about 2.0 is that it is not out yet. There is no need to despair about the game's balance or how your character turned out. At least not yet. You guys don't seriously believe the game will be released with everyone getting nerfed to the sewers right...? There will be changes, nerfs, buffs. Right now we must all wait for the game to come out to resume our bitching about balance in said game. Otherwise it's just pointless bitching, the only thing in the world worse than regular complaining.

Verimeloni Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The new track could be a new arcade op theme or a versus theme (rg/ce maybe)

Where she really needs help is with her lackluster normals and ability to build GA meter in tougher matchups (Arakune, Valk, and Tao are nightmares), and a few more things on my personal list......
