DJ_Blactricity Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 GGs Blacktricity. That was our first set ever, after all this time. GGs. We gotta play more. How was it? Horrible. I dont adapt fast enough to keep up. I suck at rps.
BoltofShadow Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 As another Jin main, fighting mAc isn't impossible, but it is hard. You block you lose against mAc, simple as that., but Jin can keep out Hakumen, you have to make him play defensively, and change it up almost every round. And while our 5C is godlike, Hakumen's 3C is faster, and leads to losing half your health. It also happens to be mac's bae.
ShadowClawBKR Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 ...shadowclaw woke me up with his snoring a while ago and i can't seem to get back to sleep. is anyone interested in playing a bit before i try again? i'm trying out this tsubaki girl and she's so fun to use. -NightmareXEntity
Nemesis Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 change it up almost every round That will only work in small sets vs him - with large gaps between the sets - The longer you fight Mac the sooner you will meet your doom. And before you know it - The End has come! I know that sounds like ego padding but let me remind those of you who dont remember there was a time not so long ago where I would lose out to mac by 20 and other such horrible numbers
BoltofShadow Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 That will only work in small sets vs him - with large gaps between the sets - The longer you fight Mac the sooner your doom approaches Yeah but if you don't even attempt to change it up you're screwed sooner. The longer the set the more mac absorbs your soul and will but that's how it works, still have to find ways to combat it.

I'd rather him not play defensively cause I'll end up hanging myself. I prefer the defensive approach, and letting others hang themselves. He doesnt overextend much though. I have to get comfortable being the aggressor, and continually adapt.

See that line of thinking is flawed tho - you cannot attempt to create variance vs mac mid match unless your already at his lvl and expect it to be effective. You must have it already prepared ahead of time otherwise it is doomed just like you will be

As much as it's after the set at least you did recognize it. As nightmarish as it is fighting Mac teaches good lessons. Every set with him I feel like I learn something. I might be a masochist though. See that line of thinking is flawed tho - you cannot attempt to create variance vs mac mid match unless your already at his lvl and expect it to be effective. You do have to recognize when your current gameplan is getting read though, and with mac that can happen quickly is what i was saying.

That was much better said - and you cleared up the ambiguity of your point ~pretty soon youll be the one dishing out relevent advice~
DJ_Blactricity Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Dont try to out-adapt Mac - youll never win I gotta try. I gotta see what happens when he's beat at his own game.
mAc Chaos Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 You guys are killing my sides. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Part of how I play is the long term; I don't try to focus on winning a single match in particular, but figuring somebody out so they never win again, period. Against Blacktricity I was spending a lot of the set just seeing how he did things. Anyone can win a few matches; real satisfaction is when the other player is so mindfucked that they don't even have hope of winning anymore. When you already have the counter to their next move ready, before they even know themselves that they want it. To be able to condition the other player so that manipulating them is almost an extension of your own character and inputs. If anything Nemesis is the one who should get also recognized for his adaptability. The last two times we played, I dominated the first time, but then he came back and utterly obliterated me the second time. I was at a total loss. That's what I like about our matches though; there's always another level to climb and another round of counter strategies to exchange. Right now I feel like it's more the changes to Hakumen in CP that are giving the extra nudge in Nemesis' favor, since a lot of the tools and strategies I had mastered in the past to defuse his own got nuked. It was easy to forget, because against most players it doesn't even really come up with my normal tactics working. Not last time though. Suddenly I remembered that there were actual changes that I had not accounted for. So now I have to rebuild from scratch. But I'll do it. So Bolt thinks it's not impossible huh. I guess I have something to fix next time.

There is only 1 player who can make feel as if I have no hope at the moment, and I'd rather not make it 2. Play me again tomorrow night well actually tonight. I need more exp.

Airk Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 > no KEverything I know is a lie.Easy there mAck.
someonewhodied Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 now i have to play mac again. Gotta download him. And empty my brain so theres nothing for him to read. Mac play me in like an hour. or 3
BlackYakuzu94 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 My philosophy to fighting Mac is that if he's gonna download you, its time to play as crazy as possible so he can't read you. Gotta constantly be moving and ready to adapt, I find that I play a lot better when I fight him that way.
someonewhodied Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 You don't have to play crazy you just have to play a "blank" style so that there isn't anything to read. No matter how crazy you play you will still have some pattern unless you aren't even looking at the screen. If there is one person who can read that its mac.

It's more like not sticking one specific pattern. Of course it's impossible to not have at least one specific pattern, we are only human after all. It's about how obvious your patterns are and if Mac reads them before you figure it out yourself. ...Mac is a very appropriate name in this context...
Raziul Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I just want to know how I can go 6+ matches with out ever using drive, and then the one time I do, he's already doing the high/low to beat it. That's what blows my mind.

Im the opposite. The last times I played mac, I stuck to one pattern and my win ratio steadily improved (though not the same as it once was) The only way I stand a chance is when I just worry about improving my own abilities and not trying to download mac.
